Survivor Philippines: Season 25 Begins Fall 2012

Last night on the Survivor One World finale we learned a little more about the next Survivor 2012 season: Philippines. Host Jeff Probst introduced us to next season’s twist and it’s a twist on a twist that I’d rather not see again: returning players.

On season 25 of Survivor there will be three tribes, presumably six castaways in each, and one of those castaways from each tribe will be a returning player who was previously eliminated for medical reasons. I wonder how long after Colton’s departure during One World the production team decided they needed to find a way to get him back because this seems tailor made for just that reason. Don’t forget Jeff Probst also asked Colton during the One World Reunion show if he would come back for another season.

The preview segment for Survivor Philippines features lots of past season clips with injuries and evacuations all the way back to season 2 in Australia when Michael Skupin fell in to the fire and became the first castaway evacuated for medical reasons. If you were building the list of three returning castaways who saw their time on Survivor cut short, who would you want back for Survivor 25?

Survivor 2012 One World Finale Results

It’s time to find out who won Survivor 2012 One World. When tonight’s show begins we’re left with just five castaways but by the end of the night there will be only one Survivor! The only thing we know so far: it’s going to be a woman.

The first challenge of the night is for immunity. Castaways will start with a knot challenge that leads to a balance beam maze requiring a complete start-over if they fall off. From there they’ll have to collect bags of puzzle pieces to get another combination lock code and unlock immunity.

Alicia is the first through the maze with Chelsea right behind her. They were the last two through the knot challenge, so leading didn’t help them. Chelsea is the first to the final puzzle with her parts while Alicia ends up second to last there after screwing up the parts collection. Kim is the first through the puzzle, but she still has to figure out the clues to unlock immunity. After several failed attempts and a close race with Chelsea and Alicia the win goes to Kim, her third of the season.

Heading to tribal council things are up in the air. The outcome looks to be in Kim’s hands. When Jeff reveals the votes it’s close. Chelsea receives two votes. Alicia receives three votes. Alicia is eliminated and we have our Final Four. We don’t get to see for sure who voted against who, but the camera is slow to cut away and we can see Christina makes a long first swipe with her pen rather than a curve. Looks like Christina may have saved Chelsea’s hide while Kim actually voted against her.

The next big challenge is a hard one for sure. The remaining castaways have to carefully navigate an easily toppled structure while stacking bowls. This looks nearly impossible, but I guess it’s not. Sure enough, Kim is leading by just a little with Christina right behind her and Chelsea in third. Jeff points out Sabrina isn’t even a competitor in this one since she’s so far back. No surprise here to see Kim win yet again. She’s certainly earned her ticket to the end.

At tribal council we find a resigned Christina who is ready to “roll over and die” as it’s stated. She didn’t even try to rally votes to stay. Now we’ll see if Kim has changed her mind to keep Christina. Nope, they stick to the plan. By a vote of 3-1 (Sabrina received Christina’s vote), Christina is eliminated. The final three castaways are Kim, Sabrina, and Chelsea. Now we’ll see what the jury thinks who should win the $1 million prize.

I’ll save the details for Branden’s recap, but there’s a lot of frustration in the jury but also a lot of respect. Perhaps the most bizarre was Alicia’s delusional rant that she was a “queen” in the game with her own “pawns” versus Kim and hers. She really seems to think she played a powerful game. Ah well. Tarzan has a nice speech about his wife and doesn’t bother to ask any questions. Plenty of other moments to see, but you’ll have to watch it to enjoy them.

Shifting to the live portion of the Survivor 2012 finale we’re about to hear the jury’s votes.

Survivor 2012 One World: Episode 13 Results

After a brief insight to Tarzan’s plan (don’t get eliminated) and Kim’s plan (don’t let anyone know I’m getting them all eliminated) we jump right in to the luxury challenge, “Wheel Spinning.” The castaways have to spin to release their parts to a spinning combination lock. Chelsea jumps in to the lead for solving the combination and is determined to try every option until she finds the right one. Sure enough, she beats out close competition from Sabrina, Kim, and Christina.

Jeff proclaims Chelsea the winner of a trip to a sailboat where she can enjoy a shower, dinner, and restful night’s sleep. It’s never simple though because she’ll have to pick two people to go with her. First up is Sabrina. Next is Tarzan. I’m kidding. Who else but Kim? So they journey off and enjoy the spoils of Chelsea’s victory while the rest of the Bitter Brigade heads back to camp.

Heading in to tonight’s immunity challenge it looks like Chelsea is in the hot seat with Tarzan waiting in the wings. Big decisions await the outcome of this competition. Of course we’ve heard that before and speaking of repeats, tonight’s challenge “Bone to Pick” is a repeat. The castaways use one hand to pick up puzzle pieces and carefully place a fishbone along the spine of the fish. First to finish wins it all.

Kim and Alicia take a good lead against Tarzan, Christina, and Chelsea. After some back and forth Kim loses her lead back to Alicia who loses it back to Kim. Just seconds apart the win goes to Alicia, her first immunity win of the season. Kim was just a few steps behind her. Now that Alicia has a win her ego should be in full bloom and entertain us.

At Tribal Council things look bad for Tarzan as the women appear to be realigning, but then we’re reminded what happened to Kat when she made some unpopular selections after her luxury challenge. Well hold that thought, because apparently wearing women’s clothing isn’t the best idea when you’re the last man standing. Tarzan is voted out and Chelsea remains. I’m not going to complain.

Survivor 2012 Spoilers: One World Episode 13 Challenge

Tonight’s Survivor 2012 episode, 13th in the One World season, will feature a challenge called “spinning wheel” and we’ve got the spoilers video for it down below.

The “spinning wheel” challenge won’t be for immunity, but rather for a reward. Kat might remember the danger of winning those and say something like, “cool beans!” Whatever they win will be well earned as the castaways will be doing lots of dizzy, vomit-inducing maneuvering to get to the finish line. Check out the video below for this challenge.

Immunity will be offered up in the “Bone to Pick” challenge which looks to involve one arm being tied behind the back of the competitors. The results on both challenges will be posted live throughout tonight’s episode of Survivor One World.

Survivor 2012 One World: Episode 12 Results

Tonight on Survivor 2012: One World we’ve got just one man left and unless something crazy happens we’ll probably end up with no men, unless you count.. no, nevermind. On to tonight’s challenges.

It’s family-visit week on Survivor. All the remaining castaway’s get a brief visit with a loved one and then are introduced to the luxury challenge. The reward this time around is a picnic alone with their family member and it will be well earned as they have to compete together to win.

The race comes down to Kat, Kim, and Chelsea. Sabrina is so far behind that Probst calls her a lost cause. It comes down to Kat and Kim and in the end it’s Kat who pulls out the win. Jeff informs Kat she can pick two other castaways to go on the trip with their family. Kat, being the clueless castaway she is, picks Kim and Alicia. The others are a little surprised that she didn’t pick Tarzan and Christina. I’m not. Kat is a knucklehead. Why would she do anything else?

The immunity challenge comes up and they’re dropping like flies. Castaways have to hold on to a handle that’s slowly inching closer to making them lean forward over the side of a log. The final three castaways are Kat, Kim, and Chelsea before Chelsea drops off. After over an hour Kat falls which means Kim wins immunity again. Someone is about to go home, but it won’t be Kim.

Tribal Council turns in to an “attack Kat” session and she’s surprised by the hostility. Let’s see if that translates in to an elimination or if Sabrina is heading home. After receiving four votes it’s official. Kat has been eliminated from Survivor One World in a total blindside.

Survivor 2012 One World: Episode 11 Results

Tonight on Survivor 2012: One World we’ve got another installment of the “Troyzan Fights For His Life” series. The show leaps right in to its first challenge: luxury. The reward is a picnic for three, but we’ll get to that later. The castaways are playing “mob rules” where everyone answers a question about the other castaways. Those who get it right take a hatchet to their competitors’ effigy. After three strikes the effigies fall into the flames and leave behind a skeleton. It’s quite clever. It’s also quite creepy.

The ladies immediately go after the men and eliminate Troyzan and Tarzan. Slowly the women knock each other out and Kim emerges as the winner. She has to pick two others to come with her which draws out some anger from those left behind. Kim selects Chelsea and Alicia. Kat is none too pleased at all and Troyzan uses the opportunity to let the ladies know they’ve been ranked by Kim. He tried that tactic last week and it didn’t work too well.

Time for immunity. The castaways will be sliding down a lane to grab a ring and then toss it on a pole. Oil is provided for lathering up to get a nice slide. Well done, old guys running the challenges. Chelsea beats Alicia. Kat beats Sabrina. Tarzan beats out Troyzan and the ladies are jubilant. Kim quickly defeats Christina. Each of the winners move on to the second round.

In the second round, Chelsea defeats Kat while Kim demolishes Tarzan. The last round requires three rings and features a greased up Chelsea and Kim. In a close race it’s Kim who pulls out the win and secures immunity for this week. Time for someone to go home.

At Tribal Council no one plays a hidden immunity idol and boy would this have been the night for Troyzan to play it if he had it. Troyzan is voted out but not before Christina has landed three votes with at least one of her teammates chipping in. Did the women make the right choice?

Survivor 2012 One World: Episode 10 Results

Survivor 2012 kicks off with another “what’s worth more to you” challenge for this week’s luxury round. The remaining castaways each receive an envelope of cash and bid on everything from doughnuts to a warm shower to letters from home. Oh, and there’s also a clue for the upcoming challenge and Troyzan puts it all on the line to get all the help he can, but will it be enough?

The immunity challenge poses castaways with a quest of familiar obstacles. They’ll need to untangle a rope, take out targets by bouncing coconuts, then strategically aiming slingshots. Troyzan’s auction win turns out to be well worth it when he reveals that he’ll be moving to the second stage uncontested. Tarzan, Kim, and Christina move on to join Troyzan in the next round. Troyzan and Tarzan win the round and move on the final stage. It comes down to one last shot where Troyzan takes the win and immunity.

Someone is about to go home, but it isn’t Troyzan.

At tribal council the tempers flare as Troyzan and Sabrina go hard at each other. Troyzan breaks out the numbers logic and proposes Christina and Alicia turn against Kim, Sabrina, Kat, and Chelsea. Christina seems tempted, but these things rarely take hold this late in the night. It’d be exciting to see happen, but I’m not holding my breath.

Jeff reveals the votes. 2 against Kim. 3 against Tarzan. 4 against Leif. Leif has been eliminated from Survivor One World.

Survivor 2012 Results One World Episode 9

Survivor One World opens with this week’s luxury challenge and it’s one of those IKEA styled “do it yourself” challenges. No Probst. No problem. The castaways split in to two teams: red and black. On the black team we’ve got: Christina, Sabrina, Leif, Chelsea, and Kim. On the red team you’ll find: Tarzan, Jay, Troyzan, and Kat. The red team wins out with 6 to 1 points (Christina scoring the only point for her team) and they head off for an afternoon of food and plotting.

It’s immunity challenge time! Like we saw earlier with the sneak peak it was the balancing act in exchange for safety.

The first castaway out was Tarzan and Jeff calls it a pathetic attempt. Christina falls next just before Probst starts offering treats in exchange for stepping out of the game. The ladies, feeling their safe this week, drop like flies going for their gut over glory. In the end it comes down to Leif and Chelsea but Chelsea wins when she convinces Leif he is in no danger.

Will Chelsea betray the ladies or is another guy about to go home? Things heat up before council with Troyzan digging up his immunity idol and preparing to use it with Kim in his sights.

Jeff tallies the votes but before he can reveal them Troyzan plays his idol. Any votes against him will not count, but it wouldn’t have mattered. The votes had shifted and Jay became the target. He was voted out tonight on Survivor One World.

Get your sneak peak at some Survivor spoilers for tonight’s immunity challenge. The remaining members of Tikiano will face off in “When it rains it pours,” a classic Survivor challenge all the way back from season 3.

The castaways will be tethered to a huge bucket of colored water and if they move even the slightest bit the whole thing comes tumbling down. You’ll have to watch the video to see just how carefully balanced those buckets are because they really do tip over at the slightest movement from what we see happening to the Survivor “Dream Team” of challenge testers.

Survivor 2012 Results: One World Episode 8

Survivor One World opened tonight on the first luxury challenge featuring a 7Up promotional event: coolers full of 7Up and barbecue for the afternoon. After a sample bottle passed around the castaways were split in to two groups in a schoolyard pick. Blue team: Jay, Troyzan, Kat, Chelsea, and Alicia. Orange team: Kim, Michael, Sabrina, Christina, and Leif. Meanwhile Tarzan sat this one out.

After a neck and neck struggle of carrying huge blocks of wood as puzzle pieces the win went to the Orange team. Troyzan and his team were very close and just barely lost out. On to the next event.

The immunity challenge featured a complicated task of navigating a bag of puzzle pieces across a bridge and along its tethered rope. The first four castaways to complete the first phase will move on to the second part and compete for immunity.

Alicia, Jay, Troyzan, and Kim were the lucky first four and faced off against one another for immunity. The castaways scramble to put together their puzzle first and this one looks very difficult. After a couple of “nearly got it” the win goes to Jay. He won’t be going anywhere tonight.

Tribal council is laughs all around as no one feels nervous about being eliminated. In the end, Michael is blindsided by the girls and is eliminated with at least 5 votes. Tarzan and Christina each received 2 votes before Michael’s elimination.
