Hi everyone. I’ve been MIA for a bit. My beautiful Nana died suddenly almost two weeks ago. She was 86 years old and so full of life. I feel sort of strange … like I am not quite part of what is going on around me. I can’t concentrate properly. Sadness seems to penetrate everything. Still, after reading this post, I am aware of how very fragile life is and how blessed my Nana was in her 86 years. She died in her sleep in her own home, which is how most of us would want to go.

Ashley, thanks for this post. It was very timely for me. Jenn was a beautiful woman. Stories such as hers make me realise anew that every single day counts.

After a series of prickly vote-outs, the four remaining members of Koror contemplated that amidst the game-playing, unpredictable weather and intense challenges, all agreed that their closeness are unmatched. In the Final Four Immunity Challenge, Tom and Ian are once again even, but Tom became triumphant for the fourth collective time. Back at camp, the four are hesitant to vote each other; but they agreed to end the Tribal Council in a tie, ignoring the consequences (even accepting the still-probable existence of the “Purple Rock” tie-breaker from Survivor: Marquesas). In a late-night Tribal Council (which usually starts by sundown), Jenn sided with Tom in voting his closest yet deceptive ally Ian while Katie and Ian rallied over Jenn. Ian and Jenn tied 2-2, and they were still deadlocked 1-1 after a revote. It was revealed that the Purple Rock tiebreaker (that generated controversy in the Marquesas season) was long discarded and a tie-breaker challenge similar to Ulong’s will commence. Though the challenge started on even ground, Ian was the first to get the fire high enough to burn through a rope and raise a red flag. Jenn was eliminated from the game.

I just read a story People.com where they quote Jeff Probst’s VERY sad detailing of the end of her life and how he helped her find a quiet place with nice scenery in OR and how she totally came to accept that she was going to die — I couldn’t imagine that~!! OMG!

Scotty, you were right about Bobby Jon but it was not the purple rock thing. She tied with Ian in the fire making challenge that sent her to the jury. I think I’m right on this but the seasons all start to run together.

Thanks for the post Ashley.. I barely remember her.. however I looked her up on Wiki and they said she, Ian, Tom and the runner-up lady all did the purple rock thing in the final 4… Bobby Jon had been sent to the jury weeks before.

I loved last night’s Idol and am savoring every episode with Simon as I won’t watch without him!

I heard he is getting some of his artists together to do a benefit song for Haiti and have the whole thing ready to download in a week or so… I will be first in line to get it – I’ve already done the text-donation thing with the Red Cross 15 times
