Congratulations to Survivor, Jeff Probst, and everyone behind the series. CBS has officially renewed the long running reality TV series for two more seasons beyond the upcoming spring season taking the search for the next Sole Survivor in to 2014 and 2015. Amazing!
CBS Entertainment’s president Nina Tassler announced the renewal, saying:
“We are thrilled to announce this landmark renewal for SURVIVOR, a groundbreaking show that changed the TV landscape and helped usher in a new era of ratings dominance for the Network. SURVIVOR continues to set the bar for outstanding production values, compelling storytelling while delivering fresh new adventures every season.
The show’s enduring success is a testament to the creativity and passion of Mark Burnett and Jeff Probst, and an amazing production team. We’re proud to continue this incredible journey together.”
It’s great to see CBS continued commitment to Survivor. We love covering it here at Survivor Fandom and enjoying it with other fans. As long as CBS keeps offering it up we’ll be sure to keep watching.
Update: We’ve got more details on Survivor 2014 Cagayan featuring all new players, no Redemption Island, and a three-tribe twist pitting beauty, brains, and brawn against each other!
Katie Collins was eliminated this week on Survivor 2013 after a quick pass through the Redemption Island arena. I was waiting to see if Tina would throw her game to benefit Katie’s and I’m glad to see that wasn’t the case.
In the videos below we get to see Katie after her elimination with her arrival at Ponderosa and then her “The Day After” interview. The Ponderosa videos are always fun to watch since we get to see the castaways get excited over a return to the little things in life like a toothbrush and a shower. Then there are the not-so-little things like a great big feast of a lunch with her other Ponderosa-mates. If you watch that video then you’ll know why Katie is lucky none of the challenges she faced on Survivor were volleyball based!
Katie’s interview video doesn’t offer any big revelations, but as one of the few pairs to make it this far it is interesting to hear her discuss the dynamics of balancing a relationship in the game. Check both videos out below and then get ready for the season finale this Sunday!
Katie Arrives At Ponderosa:
We are down to the very end of Survivor Blood Vs Water with the Season 27 finale this Sunday, December 15, 2013 on CBS. Only four castaways remain on Kasama, the season’s merged tribe, including Tyson, Gervase, Monica, and Ciera. They won’t be alone for long though.
As part of this week’s finale episode we’ll also find out which of the three Redemption Island castaways will return to the game. Either Tina, Laura, or Hayden will get a second (or third, in Laura’s case) chance at the million dollar prize and title of Sole Survivor.
While the results of the Redemption Island challenge and final Immunity Challenge are unknown it’s safe to predict what is most likely to happen. Once the RI challenge is complete one of those three will rejoin Kasama. The next Immunity Challenge will decide who is safe and who will be voted-out with no RI safety net.
As long as Tyson, Gervase, and Monica hold tight on their alliance they will survive this next vote-out round. No matter who comes back from the arena the 3-Vet alliance can vote out either Ciera or the returning player. If the 3 Vets win Immunity then they can take their pic otherwise it’s the alternative choice.
I’m preparing for Tyson, Gervase, and Monica to march right in to the final three, so which one do you think is most deserving of the win?
Survivor Blood Vs Water Finale preview:
It’s time for the Survivor results with our live blog of tonight’s Blood Vs Water episode. The castaways are nearly down to the finish line with just five members of Kasama left and one set to return from Redemption Island. Newbies are on the ropes as the Vets look ready to knock them out. Let’s see what happens when Ciera and Hayden try to make a move and flip the numbers against Tyson and Gervase.
Tonight’s show kicks off with the tribe returning to camp after having just drawn rocks to decide the last elimination. Katie come up empty and was sent to join her mom at Redemption Island. The odds were with the Vets over the Newbies, but I imagine Tyson was still sweating that one a little.
Over at Redemption Island Tina is facing a decision. If it comes down to her and Katie, will she let her daughter win? Based on what we saw earlier on the latest arena challenge it might be a choice she’ll be forced to make.
This week’s Redemption Island challenge requires the three castaways to build sticks long enough to grab keys and unlock their gate. As soon as it starts Tina is shouting help to Katie.
Laura is moving very fast and has her first key as Tina and Katie still work on their poking sticks. Laura gets all three keys quickly and is done before Tina even gets her first key. That means Laura gets the clue to give to Ciera tonight.
Either Tina or Katie will be eliminated and this won’t be easy for them. Both are fighting for their second key as Katie drops hers in the sand. Dang.
Katie struggles to recover her dropped key as Tina catches up and gets all her keys. Now she asks Katie if she’s okay with it. Katie, continuing to work on her stick, says its okay. Neither pauses as they both fight to survive.
Tina steps through her gate, eliminating Katie from Survivor. It was the right move. You don’t come here to quit (Colton). I’m glad she didn’t throw the comp.
Five castaways face off on Survivor Blood Vs Water tonight and we’ve got your spoilers on this week’s Immunity Challenge.
After rounds of advantage to the lighter, more nimble players this week’s Challenge favors the faster and stronger. Each player will have to thread a buoy from offshore back to the beach. Yep, that means swimming is involved and while that may have been a problem for Week 1 Gervase it may not be any longer. Gervase had a much stronger swimming presence in a recent event and if he can do it again then he should be alright.
Once the player returns his or her buoy to the beach they’ll be on to the second round of the challenge which looks to be a puzzle. So they’ll need strength and speed in the water plus quick hands and a clear mind to navigate the land portion.
Check out the pictures below and see which castaway you think has what it takes to win safety from a vote-out at tonight’s Tribal Council. I’m going to place my chips on Hayden Moss for this week’s win. What about you?
