Survivor 2011 Redemption Island Episode 7 Results Recap

The tribes are starting to slim, but there’s no merge just yet. Instead we’ll get another round of Redemption Duel, Immunity Challenge, and a Tribal Council with elimination as part of tonight’s Survivor 2011 Redemption Island Episode 7.

Stephanie, who was voted out last week, meets up with Matt at the Redemption Island Arena and the challenge is a mental one this time around. There’s no messing around with this guy. Matt takes an early lead with a blind, successful matching with the Memory style game. It gets close, but in the end Matt wins for the fifth straight week in the Arena.

When it came to the Immunity Challenge there was no stopping Ometepe as they continued to dominate Zapatera. The teams had to race through a series of obstacles and mud pits looking like some sort of bootcamp from hell. Zapatera caught up, took the lead and just when it looked like Zapatera would take it all… yep, you guessed it. Ometepe secured the win yet again.

At Tribal Council, Zapatera looked beaten and bruised. David accurately points out that his tribe is too disjointed to succeed. Can this next elimination bring them back together? Regardless, the votes are set and Sarita is eliminated by four votes to two votes against David.

Can Zapatera regain the ground they’ve lost to Ometepe? Will Matt be able to keep his winning streak alive? Will Phillip stop making an ass out of himself? We’ll have to wait for next week’s episode of Survivor to find out!

What we do know right now for next Survivor 2011: Matt has a foot injury which may impact his next duel. The winner of the next Redemption Duel will return to the game. The tribes are about to merge.

Survivor 2011 Redemption Island Episode 7 Preview

Survivor 2011 returns this week with its seventh episode of Redemption Island with “It Don’t Take A Smart One.” Matt will once again be fighting for his Survivor life in another duel on the Island, but does anyone think Stephanie could finally be the one to take him down?

Back at the camps it is Phillip who seems to share Matt’s invincibility despite his non-stop annoying ways, but until his team takes a beating he’ll continue to be safe, much to our at-home amusement. The preview video below would lead you to believe that it is Boston Rob on Ometepe who is in the real danger, but considering his position in the tribe I don’t think there’s a chance we’ll see him dueling Matt anytime soon.

Do you think Zapatera can pull out of their tailspin this week or will Ometepe continue to walk all over their weakening rivals?

Survivor 2011 Redemption Island Episode 6 Results Recap

Tonight was the night for continued domination on every level of Survivor 2011 Redemption Island. Winners remained winners while the losers stayed losers.

Matt faced yet another competitor on Redemption Island when Krista arrived following her elimination last week. After a quick dash at the start Krista took an early lead. When it came to close out the duel Matt did what he does best, “winning, duh.” (Are Charlie Sheen jokes too worn out already?) Krista was officially eliminated from this season of Survivor while Matt will wait around for his next battle.

Before the next challenge Stephanie did her best to work Zapatera to get back in their good graces while throwing Sarita under the bus. The tribe seems open to the idea, or at least they don’t seem to care too much for Sarita.

When it came time for the Immunity Challenge Ometepe dominated once again. The challenge was to be the first team to catch 5 slingshot balls. While Zapatera focused on tripping other players, falling down, and mostly missing every shot it was Ometepe who kept their eyes on the ball and came away with the win. Well, really it was Grant who caught 4 of the 5 while Rob picked up one other ball. Another losing round for Zapatera.

Tribal Council brought one heck of a close vote. Torn between whether to get out the dissenter or the weakest, Zapatera ended up with a 2-4 vote. Stephanie came out on the losing end of that equation while Sarita was sent back with her Tribe.

Did the right castaway get sent to Redemption Island? Will Matt be able to keep his streak alive against Stephanie? Whatcha think?

Survivor 2011 Redemption Island Episode 6 Preview

Survivor 2011 is back with the 6th Redemption Island episode, entitled “Red Headed Stepchild.” That would of course be referring to Phillip, no wonder he shaved his head (I kid, I kid!). Once again, with no surprise here, Phillip is picking fights with his tribemates and they just keep putting up with it.

This time around Phillip looks to be upset because the girls are treating themselves to a little relaxing in their bikinis. Wait, what? He wants them to stop hanging around in their bikinis? This man is nuts. Get him off this show immediately!

Back over at Redemption Island, Probst is teasing us that Matt may finally be in danger, but can Krista be the first to eliminate the seemingly unstoppable castaway? I’m guessing he’ll be okay, but you never know.

Check out the preview clip below and then let everyone know who you most want to see safe this week and who you want voted out.

Survivor 2011 Redemption Island Episode 5 Results Recap

In the fifth Survivor 2011 episode we watched as once again Matt faced a challenger on Redemption Island and Rob’s team continued to grow stronger.

Kristina, last week’s Tribal Council victim, arrived at Redemption Island and gave Matt a run for his money. Of course she didn’t run very fast as it turned out. Matt was able to rebuild the assorted puzzle pieces the quickest and clinched another victory. Sorry, Kristina, but you’ve been eliminated from the show. But before the Redemption show was over Krista and Stephanie offered up their loyalty to Boston Rob should they might when the tribes merge. Classy.

When it came time for the challenge we had a small-team effort waiting for us to watch. One castaway had to vocally lead another blindfolded castaway around a maze to find more puzzle pieces to put together. Stephanie faces off against Rob and comes up empty when he beats her to the punch. Are the cracks starting to spread in Zapatera’s ability to keep winning like they used to?

At Tribal Council, Krista pleads her case but it falls on deaf ears when she’s voted out 5-2. Stephanie can’t be far back on Zapatera’s list for elimination!

Survivor 2011 Redemption Island Episode 5 Preview

Well that whole “return of Russell” for Survivor 2011 kinda fell flat, huh? After being eliminated at Tribal Council during episode 3 we watched as Matt won his second Redemption Island duel and officially, wholly, and completely eliminated Russell Hantz from the season. No worries, I’m sure Russell took it very well…

So this week we’ll catch up with Kristina on her journey to try and knock Matt off his Redemption throne. Meanwhile, back at camp, we will see just how comfortable Boston Rob has become with his hands on an Immunity Idol of his own. The fun might really end up being found over at Ometepe though as the episode synopsis indicates their tribe is coming apart at the threads. Oh Russell’s ladies look ready to get some revenge!

Which Survivor Redemption Island castaway are you most anxious to see get eliminated this week? Have you finally come to peace with Phillip or is he a must-go for you by now?

Survivor Renewed For Two More Seasons With Jeff Probst Back As Host

CBS has just announced that Survivor will be returning for at least two more seasons after Survivor 2011. Of course that news is only truly helpful when coupled with the confirmation that yes, Jeff Probst will be along as the show’s host.

CBS has ordered two more editions of SURVIVOR to be broadcast during the 2011-2012 season. These will mark the 23rd and 24th editions of television’s longest-running hit reality competition series.

Additionally, Emmy Award-winner Jeff Probst has signed a new agreement to continue as host and as an executive producer for the 23rd and 24th editions. Probst has hosted SURVIVOR since its inception.

That’s awesome news for fans of the show, but when you start thinking about how they’ll be up to 24 seasons it seems almost inevitable that Jeff will have to take a break. You almost want to give the guy a rest so he can come back refreshed.

Should the undesirable and Survivor eventually gets renewed but Probst doesn’t want to return, would you still tune in to watch or does Jeff make Survivor whole?

Survivor 2011 Redemption Island Episode 4 Results Recap

It was Russell Hantz’s last chance at remaining in the game tonight on Survivor 2011, but could he pull it off? Well, sorry Russell, but once again tonight over at the Redemption Island Matt was able to hold his own and defeat his opponent.

Having been beaten for the first real time, Russell decided to go out swinging and just may have brought Ralph down with him once he stupidly revealed that yes, he had found an Immunity Idol. Why Ralph thought it was a good idea to show his hand with others around to hear is beyond me, but I’m sure Russell was pleased to have extracted that as he left the arena.

When the tribes arrived at the Immunity Challenge we saw things return to the normal tempo when Ometepe lost its third competition of the season. Makes you wonder if Zapatera could have kept a perfect record until the merge. Kristina won’t have to worry about that though because she fell victim to the vote at Council and is likely to end up as Matt’s next victim.

Survivor 2011 continues to deliver on the action this season! Are you glad that Boston Rob has his hands on an Immunity Idol? Might be just what he needs to get to the end this time.

Survivor Redemption Island Episode 4 Preview

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Russell Hantz was voted off Survivor for the first time ever when his tribe turned against him and sent him to Redemption Island during a tie-breaker round of voting. Now he’s facing sudden death overtime and will have to duel the similarly evicted Matt for a chance to continue.

Back at the camps, life isn’t too much better for Ometepe who is growing increasingly impatient with Phillip’s antics. But at least he’s returned to spear hunting crabs, so we’ll get our entertainment value out of him for sure. It’ll be interesting to see if the cloud of despair will be lifted from Zaptera now that Russell has been banished. Well, it’s probably safe to assume things won’t be good for Stephanie after her display at Council, but she’s earned any consequences there.

With Russell gone and Zapatera’s focus back on the game I won’t be surprised to see if they whoop back up on Rob’s Ometepe tribe unless the previously elusive taste of victory has renewed his team’s energy. Who do you think has the best chance of avoiding a trip to Tribal Council this week on Survivor 2011?

Survivor 2011: Redemption Island Episode 3 Results Recap

Tonight on Survivor Redemption Island we’ll have our first duel for a return to the game! Things jump right over to the island where we see Matt arrive at his new camp and expressing shock over his sudden departure from Ometepe at the hands of Boston Rob, but of course he’s ready to get his revenge. We’ll soon know if he gets that chance.

Over at Zapatera Steve and David are selected at random to go and observe the duel between Francesca and Matt over at Redemption Island. Ometepe sends Andrea and Ashley as their representatives which of course makes Rob nervous (what doesn’t?!).

The duel features the two eliminated castaways making a reaching pole from sticks and rope to snag a set of keys. Francesca gets an early lead reaching the keys while Matt can’t even get his makeshift stick to hold together. After a little work Matt catches up and they’re both tied at 2 of their 3 keys. Finally Matt gets all 3 keys, removes the locks, and survives the first Redemption challenge while Francesca is sent home.
