Meet the Survivor Redemption Island Cast – Photos

You’ve seen the CBS promo, now take an up close look at the new Survivor Redemption Island cast! There are 16 castaways who have been revealed so far while there will be 2 more castaways from past seasons of Survivor.

Those last two names will soon be released, but for now you can check out who you’ll be watching in the 22nd season.

The crop of 16 includes Ashley Underwood, a 25-year-old nurse who represented Maine in the 2009 Miss USA pageant; Steve Wright, who played on the same Dallas Cowboys team as Survivor: Guatemala’s Gary Hogeboom; and Grant Mattos, most recently a Tennessee Titans wide receiver. Others include former Marine Andrea Boehlke, farmer Ralph Kiser, and three contestants working in or studying law: Francesca Hogi, Kristina Kell and David Murphy.

The youngest contestant is 19-year-old dancer Natalie Tenerelli, while 52-year-old technology executive Philip Sheppard is the oldest.

Survivor Redemption Island Allows Producers To Block Quitters From Jury

NaOnka Mixon Kelly Shinn Survivor

If you were upset about last season’s quitters, NaOnka Mixon and Kelly Shinn, ending up on the jury then you weren’t alone. Jeff Probst explains that this season, Survivor Redemption Island, will give producers the option whether or not to let castaways who quit prior to elimination stay to be part of the jury.

“The most frustrating part for me was that both of them, due to a precedent we already set on the show, were allowed to stay on the jury and have an influence at the end of the game,” Probst tells PEOPLE. “And that was not a judgment call on our end. We had already set that in motion with Janu back in Palau. She was already in the jury phase, she quit, so she becomes a jury member. But there were people who said, ‘Aww man, that’s not right! They should be out of the jury!’ Because they were big votes.”

Seems like producers were caught off-guard by the pair of quitters and couldn’t change things mid-season. So now they’re going in to this round telling the players that they won’t have a guaranteed spot in the jury.

There’s still a problem here though. It’s a gray area. Producers will have the option to send a quitter home or they might get to stay for the jury. So really, if one person quits and they decide to let them stay then they’ll have to do the same for the second person.

Come on, Survivor producers, just set a rule. If they quit, then they’re gone. Keep it simple and remove the vagueness.

Jeff Probst Talks Survivor 2011 Redemption Island

Jeff Probst Survivor

Survivor returns for its 22nd season on February 16th, 2011 with an all new twist: Redemption Island. Well, mostly new. Jeff Probst spoke with People Magazine and explained how this second-chance is similar to a recent season:

“We did a haphazard version of Redemption Island a few years ago called the Outcasts,” host Jeff Probst explained to Entertainment Weekly. “It didn’t work and it didn’t please the audience and there was one fundamental flaw – we didn’t tell people up front it was going to happen …

So I have no problem with people coming back into the game because everybody knows up front [now]. A rule can’t be unfair if you know going in. It’s an equal opportunity.”

If you missed the details behind Survivor Redemption Island then be sure to check out Probst’s explanation from the Nicaragua finale.

What do you think? Is a second chance at the prize money fair if everyone knows it’s going to happen? Or once the castaways are eliminated they should stay gone?

Survivor Nicaragua Winner: Judson Birza aka Fabio Is Sole Survivor

Survivor 2010 winner Judson Birza

WOW the person I pulled for most of the season was crowned the Survivor Nicaragua winner.  When the votes were tied at four a piece I was nervous but what a comeback Judson Birza had to win it all!  Winning three immunity challenges in a row when he needed them the most sealed his fate.  Well that along with all the backstabbing done throughout the game by Chase and Sash lol.

The disdain the jury felt towards Sash was fun to watch.  It was nice to see him actually have to squirm a little lol.  For some reason the little girls on the jury had too much jealousy to vote for a MAN younger than them.  And yes Fabio is a man, Alina.  What a biatch in her slam at the end towards Fabio.  If I was out there with her prissy ass I’d have gone off big time!!

NaOnka is having some trouble in her teaching job with parents calling not wanting their kids in her class.  Hmmm who didn’t see that one coming?  Of course they don’t want you near their kids!  There’s no way I’d want my kids around her but hey maybe she is a different person in real life…NOT! LOL

Final thoughts on the reunion: Jane won fan favorite by the largest majority ever.  WOW!  She was one tough cookie.  I wouldn’t want to go against her lol.  Shannon was STILL running his mouth and being a total you know what.  He couldn’t even say something nice at the reunion?  What a loser!

The twist for Survivor 22 was revealed tonight and showed us Redemption Island, a place where those who are voted out of the game are sent.  When one is voted out they are sent to this Island and await for the next person to voted out.  The two then square off and fight it out and the winner moves on to wait on the next player.  Whomever is left at the end gets to come back in the game for another shot at the million.  That’s not a terrible twist but more than likely the person that comes back will get voted out immediately unless they win immunity.  No mention of the Rob and Russell showdown.

Join us for the action in February and have a safe and happy holidays!! Sign up for the free email updates and you’ll get the new Season 22 details as soon as they’re released. In the meantime, join other Survivor fans on Facebook.

Survivor Nicaragua: Finale and Reunion Tonight On CBS

Get ready to what I’m hoping is an exciting conclusion to a rather lackluster season of Survivor Nicaragua.  Three hours of Survivor is on tonight as Fabio and Dan try to win back to back to back immunity challenges in order to earn a place in the finals.  Seeing that Dan is NOT the best in the competitions I’m hoping Fabio will continue with an immunity run to inspire us viewers.

Be sure to check out the CBS website to vote for your favorite player to win the 100k.  I’ve got my vote in for Fabio because he has made me laugh all season.

Be sure to catch all the action tonight and see who is crowned the title of sole survivor and the winner of one million dollars.  It all starts at 8E/7C.
