Survivor 2011 South Pacific Week 7 Ratings

Survivor South Pacific episode 7

Survivor South Pacific continued to run strong this week in the ratings after pulling in roughly 11.8 million viewers and tieing its season premiere level. Could CBS’ teasing of Ozzy’s wild gamble have been the key to the episode’s slight jump? If that’s the case then next week’s should do even better.

So far we don’t know much about what will happen next as CBS was expectantly tight lipped in their preview of episode 8 for just what would happen with the potential tribe merge. When Entertainment Weekly spoke with Survivor host Jeff Probst he hinted that we’d see another big event:

EW: Tease us up for next week’s episode, Jeff.

Probst: If you thought Ozzy’s move was good, just wait till next week. Game Changer.

Game changer? Could Ozzy come back and Cochran decline to return the immunity idol? I know I’d have a hard time letting that one go!

What do you think will happen next week on South Pacific?

Survivor South Pacific: Ozzy the master strategist or just plain stupid?

Survivor South Pacific episode 7

Two tribes will come together soon for the merge in Survivor South Pacific but will it be sooner rather than later?  That is the big question on all Survivor fans minds today after watching Ozzy make what could be the worst move in Survivor history or the boldest.  Let’s break this down.

Let’s assume the merge will come next like Savaii is hoping, what is to guarantee Ozzy will beat Christine in the upcoming dual?  Nothing.  She rocks at these challenges.  She was the first one voted off and is still hanging in there and she beat Mikayla, let’s not forget that.

Another thing, Christine hates her tribe, so why not send Cochran over to fight it out, Christine beats him and joins the others at the merge where she is welcomed with open arms into the Savaii circle.  She is most definitely a force and could be used on the weakened tribe.

This strategy doesn’t enter the mind of the great Ozzy however.  It seems to me that he is looking for some kind of heroic welcome for choosing to get sent to Redemption Island. Not only does he hand Cochran a life line but he also gives him the idol.  What if the merge isn’t next and Savaii loses another Immunity Challenge?  The team will want Cochran out and he would be crazy not to use the idol on himself and send one of the stronger players to face Ozzy or Christine in yet another dual.  So that would put the team down by two.  I hate to say it but I am hoping Christine will pull off the win here and send Ozzy home.

I just don’t like this strategy and with a million dollars at stake you NEVER ask to get voted out.  NEVER!!!  I am frustrated with this whole line of thinking.

Survivor South Pacific: Episode 7 Tribal Council Voting

Survivor South Pacific episode 7

Sure enough, the spoilers were right. Mikayla was defeated by Christine at Redemption Island and Savaii fell at the immunity challenge. Even crazier was Ozzy’s decision to send himself to Redemption Island in hopes of ending Christine’s streak and deceiving Upolu ahead of a possible merge.

Savaii Tribe voting – Week 7:

  • Jim Rice – Ozzy
  • Ozzy Lusth – Cochran
  • Dawn Meehan – Ozzy
  • John Cochran – Ozzy
  • Whitney Duncan – Ozzy
  • Keith Tollefson – Ozzy

This was a huge gamble. Did Savaii make the right choice?

Survivor Spoilers: South Pacific Episode 7 Challenge Preview

Survivor South Pacific is giving us an early look at this week’s challenge, “Family Ties.” The tribes will face off in blindfolds and navigate the course by using a series of ropes. Looks like plenty of opportunities for bumped heads and scraped knees.

Have I mentioned how much fun it’d be to join the challenge testing team that goes out there for this? What Survivor brave guinea pigs they are!

Survivor 2011 South Pacific Episode 7 Tonight

Survivor South Pacific is back tonight with its seventh episode of the season and according to the teaser video it could be a crazy night for the remaining castaways.

We’re still awaiting one tribe to win two challenges in a row this season and after Upolu’s loss last week with Mikayla’s elimination this will be Savaii’s chance to make that streak come alive.

Since Mikayla was voted out she’ll be the next potential victim for Christine, the winning machine, at Redemption Island. Speaking of Redemption Island, I can’t wait to see if this week’s Survivor spoilers are accurate and we get a crazy finish to the night. This could be the worst move of the season.

Survivor South Pacific Episode 7 Preview

Survivor South Pacific episode 7

Survivor South Pacific episode 7 is on its way to our TVs tomorrow night, but before we get to that there’s lots to discuss. CBS released a new promo for the episode and it looks like things could be crazy. Of course, if you read those alleged spoilers yesterday then you already know what is probably about to happen.

Now if you didn’t read those spoilers, then the video below teases that one player will volunteer to be sent to Redemption Island in hopes of returning from the arena with the power to control which team gets a player back. Some may call this the “Lawon Method” while I prefer the simpler “Idiot Approach” to Survivor. Needless to say, I can’t endorse this particular idea.

Do you think it makes sense to ever volunteer to be sent out of the game on the chance you get to come back?

Survivor One World – Season 24 Rumors

Survivor Jeff Probst

Survivor will return for its 24th season in early 2012 and there are already rumors floating around on what we could expect next time around, according to Reality Blurred who has collected up some interesting potential spoilers.

First rumor is the season’s title: Survivor One World. Hmm, okay. Have they run out of locations? At least it’s not Survivor: Jersey Shore where weekly immunity challenges consist of getting immunized against venereal diseases. So what the “One World” could refer to is the rumor that the tribes will be living on the same beach. Even better is that the tribes will allegedly split men vs. women.

Next up is something I’m quite grateful to see end: retreads. We got it all this past summer with Big Brother and in the past two seasons of Survivor. Enough already! Allegedly we won’t be getting any returning castaways, just all new faces.

Should the rumors stand we could be looking at Survivor One World with one camp, two tribes, and no familiar faces except for the man himself, Jeff Probst.

Are you ready for a brand new season of Survivor?

Survivor South Pacific: Episode 6 Recap Ozzy’s Meltdown and Upolu Divided

Survivor South Pacific episode 6

What an awesome episode last night of Survivor South Pacific!  We start out with Savaii returning from their first blindside and an incredibly pissed off Ozzy acting like a spoiled child that his girlfriend Elyse got evicted.  That being said, you can’t blame him for being mad at Keith.  The guys made a final two deal and instead of giving a heads up like any smart player would have done in seasons past (pun intended here), he laid low, didn’t say crap and Ozzy comes out looking like an idiot.  However, Ozzy let it get the best of him and pouted like a child for a while  and let his tribe know he had the idol but he wisened up and apologized.  He’s played this game before so he knows he needs his people at the merge and they have got to have some trust and loyalty.  Besides that, he looks hot in his boxers swimming under the water and spearing fish lol.

At the Redemption Island dual, Christine once again is the victor.  She’s worn out.  She’s tired of being alone but puts her best foot forward and sends Elyse home.  I have to give her some props.  She rocks in these challenges.  Personally I would love to see her reenter the game just to get voted right back out lol.  Surely she knows from watching other reality shows including Survivor that her fate has already been decided and she has pretty much zero chance of making it to the finals.
