Survivor Samoa Episode 13: Damage Control

| December 10, 2009 at 10:23 PM EDT

Survivor Samoa Day 30:  Russell is on cruise control and sitting on his throne letting everyone come up to him and tell him what is going on.  After the last tribal council he does “damage control” with Sham and lies to her and tells her John was coming after her.  When will his madness end?  In my opinion, he didn’t have a choice but to lie to her to keep her in the foa’s good graces.  What else could he do?  The foa’s have to have the majority to stay alive in the game.

Jaison, Brett and Monica are all laying out on the beach when Jaison completely throws Russ under the bus.  He lets Russ take all the blame for getting rid of the former galus which was smart but then tells them that Russ made 2 million dollars last year, that makes Jaison a traitor in my opinion.  They then discuss Russ being the biggest threat in the game.  If you think so Jaison then make a move and quit hiding behind him.

First immunity challenge

Survivor Bowling Tournament:  3 rounds – The castaways are put into teams of two and whomever knocks down the most pins in two shots moves on to the next round.  First round:  Sham knocks out Natalie;  Russ knocks out Brett; Jaison knocks out Monica; and Dave with our only strike knocks out Mick.  Second round:  Sham beats Russ; Jaison beats Dave.  Final round – Jaison wins immunity for the second time and gives us a BIG smile!!

First Tribal Council

At tribal council John is all smiles and looking extra good after getting all cleaned up for us.  After voting, Danger Dave Ball becomes the fifth member of our jury.  I felt sorry for him because he did play his heart out and Russ made him think they were voting out Sham.  The shock for me was seeing that Monica and Brett also voted for his eviction.  I thought they would stand by him.  I guess everyone really is doing what Russell says.

 Second Immunity Challenge

The bean bag catapult:  the contestants race in the ocean where they untie one of their 3 bags which they take back and place on a piece of wood and jump on a plank to shoot the bag into a basket.  Brett gets his in first followed by Mick and Russell and so it goes until Brett wins immunity.  A good thing for him because he would have been gone had he not won.  Russ felt he was a threat because he is such a nice guy and would get all the votes from the jury.

When they get back to camp, Monica tries to stir the pot with Russell.  She tells him that Jaison blew his cover on what he does for a living and that he has the idol.  Russ gets pissed and goes berserk.  Monica should have known better after watching Russell work it since the merge.  For a moment it does look like Mick and Jaison are considering it.

Second Tribal Council

Things get good and heated during the council meeting.  Russell pulls out the immunity idol in front of everyone and puts it around his neck.  Sham tells Jeff that Russ got his feathers ruffled by Monica and Russ says that had he and Monica been on the same team, they would have been a force to be reckoned with.  The best part of the whole episode for me was when Russ was writing down Monica’s name and said “stupid, stupid little girl, bad strategy.”  I about fell off the couch.  That was funny.  Monica was just a little too big for her britches for my taste and I did not care for her better than thou attitude.  She made the mistake for going after Russell and she becomes the 6th member of the jury.

A really good episode tonight.  I’m looking forward to next week.  What did yall think?

Survivor Samoa: Episode 13 Tonight 8/7C

| December 10, 2009 at 8:00 AM EDT

It is time for the double elimination episode of Survivor 19 tonight on CBS.  Two immunity challenges and two tribal councils could mean the end of Russell Hantz.  We know they are gunning for him from the previews so there is much speculation about the bold move he pulls off at one of the tribal councils.

The two immunity challenges look promising and I’m guessing Mick will win the bean bag catapult since he is seen so much in the pictures.  Not sure who wins the bowling game but I think Russell might pull it off or maybe Brett.  If Russell wins then he might give his necklace to one of the former foa foas and then pull out the idol for himself.  That would be a bold move.

Whatever happens, it is going to be interesting.  Who do you think will get voted out tonight?  Join us here for the pre and post show discussions.

Survivor Samoa Episode 13 **Spoiler Alert**

Sorry to those of you who could not open the Survivor video promo.  You can go to to watch it and many more deleted scenes and interviews.

episode 13

It is time for the double elimination episode.  We all knew it was coming and Thursday, we will see 2 immunity challenges and 2 tribal councils.  Russell will pull his “boldest move ever at a tribal council.”  Per missyae, Dave goes after the master manipulator himself and it backfires sending him to the jury.  By process of elimination I am thinking the second evictee will be either Sham or Monica with Monica as the best guess to get voted off even though I’m sure Sham is going to raise hell about not voting off Dave.

episode 13 2

One of the immunity challenges is the bean bag catapult where the contestant stomps on a plank and tries to catapult their beanbag into a color coded basket.  I have no idea who wins the immunity necklace but I do know it is not Dave.

episode 13 3

For the other immunity challenge, let’s go bowling!  This challenge looks very straightforward as knocking a ball into some bowling pins.  Not sure who wins this challenge either.  With 2 immunity necklaces and Russell’s idol, it is going to be an interesting episode.  Can’t wait to see what Russell has in store for us at the TC but from the grin on his face, it is sure to be good.

episode 13 4

What do you think Russ’s “bold” move is and who is the other person voted out in this episode?

Thanks to survivor fever for the vid caps and challenge info.

Survivor Samoa Episode 11: Post show discussion

| December 3, 2009 at 10:22 PM EDT

Tonight on Survivor Samoa we get a glimpse of what is to come when the show starts out with John explaining to Monica why he turned on Laura.  In her confessional, Monica calls John a Judas and says she wants him gone.

Tree Mail:  $500.00 for everyone to bid on items in the auction and what a great auction it was.  First off, Natalie buys a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for $200.00 and later for $120.00 buys herself a shower and gets clean underwear.  Shambo gets the survivor version of spaghetti for $240.00 which turns out to be sea noodles, slug guts and parmesan. (gross!)  She eats it up.  Monica buys herself an entire roasted chicken for $340.00; Jaison gets help for the immunity challenge for $500.00; John gets a clue to the hidden immunity idol that Russell has already found for $200.00 and Mick gets a cold beer, cheeseburger and fries for $500.00.  John has the choice for $300.00 to buy a piece of apple pie for himself or an entire pie for his tribe mates and he chooses the piece for himself and this does not sit well with the others.  I did feel a little sorry for poor ole John while he was looking for the immunity idol until he wised up and realized Russell had already found it.

They finally decide to eat one of the chickens  and this makes Shambo sad.  I swear I thought she was about to cry.   She claims the chickens are her single source of happiness in the last 29 days.  Poor Sham, I mean I think I could find something to be happy about besides a chicken.  What a joke!  She does coin the phrase of our title “Off with their heads”.  She then gets a little antagonistic over boiling the chicken.  She tells everyone to shut up because when it comes to cooking, she definitely knows what she is doing.  This is from the same person who “knew” how to make fire and couldn’t and “knew” how to care for the chickens and then let one loose and couldn’t catch it.  So when Dave questions why she is cooking them for two hours, she gets mad and seeks to have him eliminated.  I’d say the girl is a little unstable.

The immunity challenge was an endurance challenge where the contestants have to hold onto a rope by one hand that is tied to a board that has knots all the way down.  Every three minutes they switch hands and lower the board by a knot.  For Jaison’s reward he gets to move up two knots any time he chooses and does this after four knots.  It works out well for him and he wins the competition and receives the immunity necklace.  It was nice to see a little smile come across his face for a minute.  The bigger surprise for me was seeing how well Natalie did.  I mean she blew everyone away and lost only to Jaison and Dave.  Way to go girl and yes my hubby thought she looked very refreshed after her shower. :)

We are on the way to seeing Dave voted out when John runs his mouth to Russell and tells him he knows he (Russ) has the immunity idol and of course Russ concurs.  Russ realizes he made a mistake by letting John know he had the idol and decides to blind side John.  He gets everyone on board but doesn’t tell Sham.  At tribal we have Sham thinking they are voting out Dave; John thinking they are voting out Mick; and everyone else on board to vote out John.  It was all pretty comical from here on my couch.  Sham was absolutely floored and poor John.  He just looked pitiful.  For me, it made much more sense to vote out Dave who is better in the challenges and is incredibly smart but Russ has to have it his way and he got it.  Almost every eviction has been his idea because of some reason or another and you have to hand it to him, he does have the power of persuasion.  But according to the previews for next week, it looks like his best ally, Mick, isn’t too happy with him and doesn’t want the “snake” to jump up and bite him.

What did yall think of tonight’s episode and is next week the end of Evil Russell or just a way to spin the previews to keep us guessing?
