Survivor Samoa Episode 2 – Even Better Than The First!!!

Wow!  That is all I can say for the episode last night!  Sorry this is late but I was up for a while with my 2 new puppies and had lots to do this morning with them.  So much happened last night so I can only touch on a few so let’s get started.

First, Ben got thrown out of the challenge.  Jeff Probst stands by his decision but I don’t know if I necessarily agree with it.  What did he do that was so much worse then anyone else?  He kicked GRussell’s feet out from under him to stop him from getting the ball.  After watching Shambo head butt Liz, I thought what Ben did was pretty tame.  Granted Jeff did warn everyone about taking cheap shots and Ben did trip up GRuss right in front of him but I thought that it was the nature of the game to stop the other team from getting the ball.

Second, we have the “big” confrontation between Yasmin and Ben.  I thought Ben was out of line in the personal attacks he was making against Yasmin.  I know the members of Foa Foa were put off by Yasmin’s speach and she did come across as a biotch for her “taking candy from a baby” statement but did Ben really have to take it to the level he did?  I don’t think so.  I thought he made himself look like a complete jerk on national television and lost a lot of fans and support that he may have otherwise had.

Third, can we have a drum roll please,  What about BRUSSELL??  I was actually really impressed with his decision to search for the immunity idol.  He even told his tribe members what he was doing and what did they do?  They just sat around as he looked for it right in front of them.  I thought it was a GREAT moment when he found the idol in the tree and hid it in his pants right in front of everyone.  Good for him!  I may regret saying this next week, but I did gain some respect and he and Jaison are now my two favorites on the show.   However, I am stating this before I have really gotten to see much of Galu.

Fourth, we saw the loss of two members of Foa Foa.  Mike had to leave for health reasons which I think is an absolute shame because he really kicked butt in the challenge.  He was tackling people and throwing them down and was really an asset to his team.  I felt bad for him and hated to see him go.  I wish that since Mike had to leave they could have left it at that but unfortunately there was a tribal council and Betsy got voted out.  I will let someone else touch on this in another blog because I really didn’t care for her and I know most of you really liked her so I will leave it for now.

What did everyone think about the show?  Do you think Ben is worse then BRuss?  Did Yasmin overstep her bounds and was Ben justified in his behavior toward her?

Watch Survivor Samoa – Episode 2 – Tonight 8ET

Hello Everyone!  It seems like it has been FOREVER since the premiere of Survivor Samao.  We were introduced to all the new players, said good bye to Marissa, and watched as Brussell became the most evil man in Survivor history.

Tonight we will see the competition where Jeff Probst, for the first time, throws someone out of a challenge.  The rumor mill is alive and running with Ben at the top of the list as the one cast out.  I hope he is not the reason for one of the girls bleeding as we saw in the commercial.

We have all been anxiously waiting to see the return of BRussell.  What is he going to do next?  By the commercial it looks like he is hiding something, possibly the flint?  This guy will stop at nothing to sabotage is tribe.  What is his problem???  I will NEVER understand this kind of strategy.

What do yall think?  Does Yasmin really visit Foa Foa and does she get a clue to the immunity idol?  Which team faces the Tribal Council and who is the next castaway evicted?  Find out tonight at 7C/8E.

Share your thoughts.

The Russell Hantz Factor

So we have all seen the first episode of Survivor and the only thing I can think about is…

RUSSELL H.

I could not believe it when he sabotaged his tribe’s water and burned Jaison’s socks!  Wow!  What other contestant has ever gone against their tribe?  I mean, come on!  They are there to help you win challenges and form alliances and move you forward in the game.

This year instead of Foa Foa vs. Galu; it’s Russell H. vs. EVERYONE.  The only redeeming quality I can find in the most villainous man in Survivor history is the fact that he is going to do GREAT in the challenges.  He is a force to be reckoned with!  He kicked a$$ in the first competition and worked his tale off in the second.  For this reason alone, I believe he will be around for a while.  He is an extremely confident person and even though he already has the distrust of Betsy the police woman, it seems he has a good start with Jaison, the law student.  If he manages not to get caught doing his dirty deeds and sticks with Jaison, we could have us some amazing entertainment for a while.

Being a self made millionaire by owning an oil company, he is showing that he is not scared of hard work and is an intelligent man.  The oil and gas industry is a particularly cut throat business where you have to understand the power of persuasion along with remaining deceptively secretive.  Most of you know that I work in this industry so I can appreciate the level of stress he must feel on a daily basis which will result in his ability to do well in the game.

What do yall think about his strategy and how far do you think he will get???

“If you play with fire, you’ll get burned” just ask Marissa…

The jury is still out on whether there is indeed a “Puppet Master” among this season’s castaways…but there is definitely a snake, and he wasted no time in rearing his ugly head.  That would be who? Why Russell Hantz of course.  Love him or hate him, anyone would be hard-pressed to say that he doesn’t add interest and villainous entertainment value to the show.

I’ll admit that at first glance, I was set to dislike “evil” Russell, but his persona has always intrigued me.  In fact, I couldn’t wait to see if he actually lived up to his own hype, let alone the media’s.   I watched him in action during the premier, and I actually found myself smiling at a witty, cunning, mischievous, and perplexing “character”, who seemed to be in tuned to those around them.

Russell and MarissaWitty because his delivery is hilarious…Cunning because he successfully used Marissa’s suspicions of him to manipulate her early exit and save his current ally, Ashley…Mischievous and Perplexing because, like he said, he intends to play differently than anyone else has ever played.  Can’t argue with him there…No one has ever tried to sabotage his/her entire tribe, and certainly not on the first day.  What the heck was he doing? …Fabricating Hurricane Katrina woes, depleting the water supply, and burning Jaison’s socks…What will he do next?

Perhaps he’s not “evil”, just misunderstood?  OK, I don’t believe that any more than you do, but after applying my analytical skills (too much reality TV has me thinkin’ I can actually get in their heads and my family should be very concerned if I get into this one), I think we all can agree that we all sympathize with Hurricane Katrina victims, and the loss of a beloved dog, or any pet for that matter, tugs at the heart of most people.  However, this trumped up story makes Russell appear to be less intimidating, communicative, vulnerable, and approachable in the eyes of his tribe.  Pouring out the water and burning the socks was an effort to manipulate the focus of his tribe members and create an environment of disruption and distrust.

After a summer of watching shallow, clueless, and less than attractive women on the inside (BB withdrawal takes time), Marissa was refreshing.  She was astute enough not to fall for Russell’s bull, and had she held back a little and kept her “honesty” to herself, she’d still be in the game and Ashley would likely be on her way home.  Who knows what “evil” Russell has in store for us in the weeks ahead.  Will he be the next to go or is he in it for the long haul?  I think he is enigmatic, and one thing is for sure, he will continue to be written about, talked about, and whenever he departs, he will certainly leave an impression upon this season and the game.  He may just become the “one we love to hate”…America’s favorite even. ;)   I’m laughing, but anything is possible…

Survivor Samoa Standouts

The first installment of  Survivor Samoa brought us a few people that outshown the rest!   Lets start with the Galu tribe.

Shambo…ok the name is ridiculous but the woman is fierce!!!         I wouldnt  want to cross her anytime soon.    As an ex-marine, shes used to getting things done!    That’s  why she will soon be butting heads with John…the rocket scientist.    His good looks will only take him so far.    He needs to learn to quit talking things to death and get on with it!!      Mannnn….its a good thing hes easy on the eye or i would have tuned him out  already!

The other main man in the Galu tribe is Russell S.   Picked as the leader for the tribe  this  guy will make friends fast and be able to keep his mouth shut when necessary….John could learn from him!

On to the noise makers of the Foa Foa tribe.   Ok  you get 3 guesses as to who made the most trouble the first night (and the first 2 guesses dont count)…..Russell H of course!!      His strategy of making the weak  weaker may  work for a while.   Pouring out the tribes water and burning their socks seemed like an evil thing to do……how come i was laughing!!!

Foa Foa seems to have more standouts than Galu.      Betsy….the 48 year old policewoman gets points for good instincts.      She seems to have Russells number.

There’s Jaison…great swimmer and an all around physical threat.       His swimming ability saved the day in the first competition!      He has the potential to outlast them all!

Mick….showed great leadership and chose the more interesting people when they chose tribe members!     Being a doctor may come in handy on the island.

Ok 2 more standouts and then i’ll stand down!

I lump these two together because their bios say the same thing….”womanizer” !!      Erik claims he can  “date four to five women at the same time without issues”.       This might be a skill worth having considering all the young, impressionable girls on the island.     Or he could find out that his gang dating can’t be done!!!         And of course, the country boy Ben.     This Missouri boy knows what to do….if they will let him do it.      His little last minute  *wink*  to Ashley means he’s starting early…..let’s see if these two last past the second date!

Who stood out most to you…and why!!    Tell me your picks and hang on tight…..we’re in for a bumpy ride!!

DIABOLICALICITY

Hey ya’ll!  Here we GO!!  Season 19 of Survivor is now in play!  The scenery is just breathtaking.  I was stunned by the beauty of the place, with the waterfalls, crashing waves causing geyers, the verdant jungle. Wow.. One of the more beautiful places Survivor has ever filmed.

Now.. on to the people and the show last night.  What an interesting twist that this year. Instead of instantly nominating someone to go home, without ever speaking to each other, they nominated a “leader” for each tribe simply based on looks.  Now, remember, even though these castaways have not spoken to each other, they HAVE been staying for several days together at the Ponderosa. That means that they have at least been able to observe each others mannerisms and body language. So, we know that just from those observations, the others have KIND of an idea of what the others MIGHT be made of.

OK.. The tribes,  First.. Galu, the purple tribe.  This tribe picked Russell the attorney to be their leader, he obviously was not thrilled with the idea, but he rose to the challenge and picked decent participants in the first challenge.  This tribe obviously, did not get the bulk of the attention last night, since the did not go to Tribal Counsel, and the only standout to  me, was Shambo. She made herself quite conspicious by vocalizing the fact that she was tired of John (the rocket scientist) PLANNING the camp, and go ahead and BUILD the darn thing already. That does not bode well for Shambo. That and the fact that she was the only one who did not going in the group swim-meet, have to have garnered some attention.

A Rocket Scientist, an Oil Tycoon; Survivor Samoa has begun!

,,,And we’re off! Big Brother 11 ends; Survivor Samoa begins! The new season started; and the spotlight was surely on Russell; a self-proclaimed Millionaire “Oil Tycoon”, with a “personality” all TOO familiar to those already missing Big Brother 11.

- It’s a bit difficult to write too much as we’re all just getting to know who’s who. Within the first 30 minutes, I’m sure many of us wondered, “what the world Russell did to gain ANY one’s trust/respect?”!

- NO doubt, this will be one Volatile season! Which of the other guys/gals will emerge as the “stronger” Players?

– A few of the castaways that stood out for me; Eric; VERY handsome, strong, can easily be a huge Favorite for us “Fans”, JaSon; did y’all see that man swim?, and for the girls; you had to feel bad for Marissa, one rather “innocent” comment; and just as “Russell ordered”, she became the first to have her “flame” put out!

- It’s certainly going to be fun getting to know the rest; Will Shambo be able to hang on? Will we see another strong player stand up to the obnoxious Russell? Share your theories, add your comments; OUR flame STAYS Lit!

(My apologies if I screwed up any names!)

HERE WE GO AGAIN…

THE DAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED FOR WHAT I KNOW IS GOING TO BE THE START OF THE BEST SEASON OF SURVIVOR YET!!!

I am looking forward to some drama and action filled Thursday nights full of villains, endurance challenges, tribal councils and romance.  Tonight we get to see if our early predictions of the castaways will leave us eating our words or saying “I told you so.”  Furthermore, we get to see if good prevails evil once again.

We have barely had time to catch our breath from Big Brother and here it is, starting all over again.  I for one am a little relieved it only comes on once a week and is pre taped.  I think I might go crazy if I could watch these contestants live 24/7.  My family complained enough as it is.  I have a teenage daughter and a 2 year old son.  For those who have children, you know where I am coming from.

Be sure to check in after the show and let us know who your favorites are and discuss the possibilities of what is to come for this new group living in exile on the beautiful beaches of Samoa.
