Survivor South Pacific Episode 2 Tonight – Updated

Which tribe drops another castaway tonight on Survivor South Pacific? Can Coach and the Upolu tribe pull it together or will Ozzy strike again with his Savaii tribe? Oh the drama and suspense!

Semhar continues to await her first duel at the Redemption Island arena while near-Survivor-death castaway Cochran is back on track to keep himself in the game. We saw in this week’s preview a stumbling Cochran forced to “reinvent himself as a working machine.” So I guess we’ll have to just see what that means.

At this point I’m hoping Ozzy’s Coach’s tribe ends up at council and we see Christine heading out for a dark walk. Then again, with the chance to return I guess nothing is a done deal just yet. Which castaway are you ready to see leave South Pacific?

Update: CBS put out a new video promo on their site. Here you go:

Survivor 2011 South Pacific: Episode 2 Preview

Survivor 2011 is back this week with its second episode of the South Pacific season. It looks like Cochran could be finding himself in more trouble this week, but the way these previews typically mislead it might not really be that bad for him.

Meanwhile, Hantz has already ditched his plan to hid his Russell connection when he discloses it to Coach. Will Coach use this opportunity to make an example of him and rally his team around him? Poor Nephew Hantz. His worst nightmare could be realized if he’s sent to Redemption Island and forced to spend time alone with a, gasp, woman!

Any early predictions on the next Survivor South Pacific castaway sent to Redemption Island? Maybe an easier question would be: who do you want to face off against Semhar, last week’s voted-off castaway?

Survivor 2011 South Pacific Premiere Ratings Drop

Survivor South Pacific

Survivor South Pacific may have had an exciting premiere episode this week, but its ratings took a fall from the previous Survivor 2011 premiere event. TV By the Numbers reported a 15% drop since Redemption Island’s launch given South Pacific its lowest fall season Survivor premiere ever. Is Jeff Probst and company on their way out?

South Pacific went from 10.5 million its first half-hour to 10.4 in its second and finally up to 10.8 as it closed out its premiere night. Not bad numbers on their own, but as a 15% drop that’s pretty disappointing.

Do you think Survivor has what it takes to, well, survive this season?

Survivor South Pacific Episode 1: The Return of Coach and Ozzy

Survivor 2011 South Pacific Semhar

The premiere episode of Survivor South Pacific brings back to former all star players, Coach and Ozzy.  I am so sick of bringing back former players on every reality show and with Survivor it’s every season now.  With that being said the show starts with a ten minute debut of our two veterans and we find out they’re playing for redemption and Coach wants to show you can win the game with integrity. Hmmmmm.  I was a little worried for Coach because his team was not impressed and obviously didn’t want him but I thought once he threw on that Coach charm and kind of took charge in building the shelter and setting up camp that he won the favor of his tribe and that was cool.  Ozzy is well..Ozzy lol.  His tribe, Savaii, was happy to have him.  He easily beat Coach in the first challenge for flint and is a great competitor and manipulator.  We’ll have to see how this plays out with them.

I absolutely LOVED John Cochran the superfan.  What a nerdy Harvard geek.  He’s adorable.  I laughed so hard when he said his skin was translucent and didn’t want to get in the ocean in his underwear.  Bless his heart. I just want to squeeze him and tell him what to do to win this game lol.

Survivor South Pacific Twists Revealed

Survivor 23: South Pacific

Lots of questions out there on how the Survivor South Pacific season would play out different from the previous Survivor 2011 season. EW spoke with Jeff Probst who explained what we’d see in regards to the immunity idols and even a few changes for the return of the redemption island twist.

Survivor: South Pacific will also feature a few twists to the format. The first involves the hidden immunity idols. “This year with hidden immunity idols, we’re hiding the clue,” explains Probst. “No clue as to where the clue is. Once you find the clue, then you have to find the idol.”

And while the Redemption Island twist is back, there will be one major change to it, with the elimination of group duels — meaning each competition will truly be a win-or-go-home situation (as opposed to last season, in which players often simply did not have to come in last to stay alive). “We’re not having multi-person duels,” says Probst. “That was part of the experiment [last season]. We wanted to see how many people we could keep in the game until the end. And that’s why we let more people live out there. But we felt like it’s too many people and now we’ve got half the group still in it at the end. So it will only be a one-on-one situation. Loser’s out, winner stays. Otherwise, we’re playing it the same way.”

Seems to make sense on the idol portion considering players were finding them on their own at this stage anyway. That way no one is waiting around for a clue to arrive after the idol has already been claimed. Now will they tell anyone or just let them figure it out on their own?

CBS Confirms Survivor South Pacific Rumors: Coach and Ozzy Return

We all heard the rumors and figured they were true. Sure enough, they were. CBS confirmed today that Ozzy Lusth and Benjamin “Coach” Wade are returning to Survivor for the South Pacific installment. Sure, why not, because that worked out so great last season, right? Ah well.

Here are the screencaps from CBS’ site for both players. This looks like the battle of whose hair is more ridiculous. Right now Ozzy is in the lead.
