Shirin, a tech product manager from San Francisco, has been dreaming of life on a Survivor Island for so long that it took a while to hit her that her dream had finally come true when she was cast on Survivor Worlds Apart.

“My life dream since I was 16 was the be on Survivor,” Shirin said in her introduction video for Worlds Apart. “It still hasn’t hit me yet. I think it’s not going to happen until I’m there.” Well, now Shirin hasn’t just gotten to live her dream once, she’s doing it all over again on Survivor 2015 Second Chance!

Shirin promised us right from the start before her first round of Survivor that she would not be boring and would go all in for the game. “I’m goofy, I’m quirky,” she says. “I challenge the challenge people to disgust me. I don’t think it’s possible.” Shirin may not have won the season, but she certainly did keep us entertained just like she promised!

For Survivor Cambodia Second Chance, Shirin Oskooi will be part of the Ta Keo (green) tribe, along with Abi-Maria Gomes, Kelley Wentworth, Kelly Wiglesworth, Peih-Gee Law, Jeff Varner, Spencer Bledsoe, Terry Deitz, Vytas Baskauskas, and Woo Hwang. (Full Survivor Second Chance cast list.)

On Survivor Worlds Apart, Shirin Oskooi told Entertainment Weekly she felt like she was a tourist in the game. Her excitement in just being on the show got in the way of focusing on the strategy she needed to win. For the new season, she plans on being much more of a participant than an observer.

For Survivor 2015 Second Chance, Shiring wants to be “dialed into the game from the get-go” and she thinks playing with a group of veterans will actually be a positive. “I perform best when going up against the best,” Shirin said, and being cast with returning players who know the game will help her “take my game to the next level.”

Shirin sounds like she will be a fun character to watch. Let’s hope she’s not just talking herself up and actually comes through to entertain us when Survivor Cambodia Second Chance debuts on September 23, 2015.
