Survivor 20: Episode 3 Spoiler Alert
Episode 3: “That girl is like a virus” CBS press release states “One tough villain has the whole tribe on edge as everyone sets their sights on a very dangerous alliance,” next time on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains. “One of the most powerful women in the game targets a worthy adversary and gets aggressive in her efforts to oust an immediate threat.” I’m thinking the two women are Parvati and Jerri. Coach and Jerri are in a good position with their possible alliance as are Parvati and Russell. Perhaps we will see the true villainous side of these people finally come out.
There is a reward challenge this episode but no speculation as to what it is. The preview shows dejected looking heroes returning to camp and James kicking a shoe in anger so the villains may win. However, we know Tom finds the immunity idol and uses it for episode 4 so heroes need a clue and will probably win next week or Tom searches on his own.
Immunity Challenge this week is an all out brawl with a challenge seen first in Fiji and reused in Palau called “Sumo at Sea” and “Kung Fu Cannibals.” Tom has the experience for this challenge and he goes against Russell and quite possibly defeats him as his last opponents did not fare too well either.

In the challenge one member from each tribe face off and try to knock each other off the platform into the mud. Courtney and Candice sit out for the villains.

Parvati and Candice fight it out and both end up in the mud with Parv on bottom so Candice could be the victor here. Coach is the obvious winner from this shot as he went against Rupert who still has the broken toe.

James goes up against Randy and enjoys some taunting as he easily defeats the old man. Rupert gives a roar of approval as the heroes win their first Immunity Challenge. According to missyae, a machete disappears from the Villain’s camp and Randy is in the middle of this drama with Russell and apparently gets the blame as he is the first one evicted. I have no idea who hid the machete or what the actual story is so I guess we will wait until Thursday to find out.
Is Randy a good choice as the first boot for the Villains?
Thanks to TDT for pictures and challenge speculation.

Hey, I’m first, but unfortunately, I have nothing to say. (What a change of events.) I am having a hard time switching the channel back and forth between Survivor and the Olympics, so I appreciate all of you guys bringing me up to date on stuff I miss. Keep up the good work, Ashley. We love ya!!!
February 22nd, 2010 at 11:44 am
I think Randy is the best and obvious choice. The tribe looses nothing with him gone and I don’t think we do either.
February 22nd, 2010 at 11:48 am
I love Russell, but I also like the love connection going on between Coach and Jerri, it was so unpredicted, that it’s actually romantic!
I hope Russell is safe…he shouldn’t reveal too much of his dark ways till the end…
February 22nd, 2010 at 12:18 pm
Another great post, Ashley! Thanks for all you do for us -
Randy might as well go – he is the original grumpy old man and really hasn’t done much since he landed on the island. A lot like Courtney and Candace – worthless.
February 22nd, 2010 at 12:24 pm
Okay, I have an apology to make as the bile rises in my throat. I read the bootee interview with Steph and she said her shoulder was indeed injured before that other player who will remain nameless put her in a shoulder lock while Courtney was yelling “break her arm” – such endearing castaways. So, I was wrong – that other player did NOT injure Steph. She also said the shoulder problem is an issue she has had for a long time.

Here is a partial interview by Sugar to zap2it concerning players knowing things about Russ before the show started:
On Russell and what anybody knew before the season started:
Certain people might have inside people who might know more about what’s really going on and they’re best friends with people… It’s life, it’s “Survivor,” it’s Hollywood. People did know certain things [coughsParvaticoughs].
That’s exactly who I was thinking of. She made some comments in an interview during the show that seemed like she knew more about Russell –
Yeah. Well, all they told us, the common players, was that Russell was on the last season, he obviously did something important or big enough for them to bring him back and when he was placed on the Villains team we knew he was a villain and probably went really far in the game. But some other people maybe knew some things…
At this point, the interview is cut off by CBS
Sounds like something may be a little fishy here…

cast my vote for the villains
even JT has villain envy this season, and James has cast himself as a villain! Coach has AMAZED me with his strength over Colby and his romance with Jerri is giving me villain envy
Jerri is totally hot!
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:54 pm
Ashley, thanks for the info about the Amazing Race. Does show show ussually use a decoy team like this?
February 22nd, 2010 at 3:56 pm
Duane, apparently TAR does use decoy teams. That is what I’ve gathered reading the message boards. I don’t like the two brothers much so I hope they don’t win. I could change my mind as the season progresses though.
February 22nd, 2010 at 4:49 pm
Should be an exciting espisode this week! There are at least 5 players who are also talking about something being a little fishy!!!
February 22nd, 2010 at 5:06 pm
I wonder why CBS didn’t send all the contestants, including Russ, a little clip of his game in Samoa. That would have been fair and we could have seen whether he could still stay on top.
February 22nd, 2010 at 5:44 pm
#6 June – You are Bad!!! RussHell – Naked – Hot? You always make me smile!
February 22nd, 2010 at 7:19 pm
they dindt show them anything of russ because they obviously want him too do well. the longer he staysthe better raitings they get. on a side note someone said taht Randy was the original grumpy old man but im pretty sure that title goes to Rudy from the first season.
February 22nd, 2010 at 7:27 pm
Well it is not fair that one player had all the inside scoop on Russell and the rest of the players did not have that advantage. It has been debated alot as to whether it was an advantage for Russell or disadvantage to not be known. I think we can put that question to rest now – it was definitely an advantage that others did not know him because it just adds more to the advantage of Parvati knowing about him. You would think two players like them would not need to cheat to get to the finals. I think its pretty crappy of both of them and the person who arranged it all. Just think if Russell had been on the heroes tribe and Stephenie had the advantage Parvati had she might still be playing. I know for a fact some of the players are very mad about it and they want me to go public with everything I know – dating back to when Russell was playing on 19 and bragging to people how he hooked up with Parvati. I know CBS has told booted players and upcoming boots to make no comment if they are asked about this topic. What does that tell you? I also know the real reason Russell was crying at the reunion last year. It had nothing to do with losing the game. It had everthing to do with how and why his wife made the comments she made. You figure that one out. Lets see if any of the booted players break the code of silence and talk about it. I know a few of them are very irate.
February 22nd, 2010 at 8:32 pm
# 29 Missyae
I’m totally lost. Are you saying Russell knew Parviti prior to season 19? And most of these people on season 20 are in contact with 1 or more of other players on season 20 so I’m while interesting, not sure what the big deal is even if he did talk with her prior to season 19 or 20. Hasn’t their always been talk about pre-game alliances during all star seasons?
Now if this was setup by the producers then thats a problem, and a crime.
I’m still unclear as to what the issue is, can someone explain it to me. I must be missing something
February 22nd, 2010 at 8:55 pm
one of the best survivor video past and present episode sources
February 22nd, 2010 at 9:00 pm
Skotie, my comment #10 is a partial interview with sugar. She says someone had an insider that helped another player know things about russell. If this is the case as missyae alluded to in comment #26, that is incredibly unfair to the others. If CBS knew and are trying to cover it up, that’s even worse.
February 22nd, 2010 at 9:06 pm
sidereel is better than casttv for past survivor episodes sorry about that
February 22nd, 2010 at 9:11 pm
MissyAE and Ashley, I am confused? What did Russell’s wife say? Does she know he had an affair with Parvati? Did he have an affair with Parvati? How did Parvati have an advantage? Did Russell tell her about his season? Did the CBS producers tell Parvati about Russell? If Parvati slept with Russell just to advance, I have no respect for her because that would make her a trashy skank!!!
February 22nd, 2010 at 9:21 pm
Ashley, Thanks for all the information you have given me about the Amazing Race ok?
February 22nd, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Missyae, have you heard anything else about a Russell Hanz vs Richard Hatch Survivor season?
Ashley, isn’t this like last year when that one lady went to the same church as that young guy and the older guy Dave from Survivor season 19?
February 22nd, 2010 at 9:42 pm
Duane, very good point. I had forgotten about Laura and Brett knowing each other from church.
February 22nd, 2010 at 9:47 pm
I also don’t think parv had an affair with russ. I haven’t heard that at all.
February 22nd, 2010 at 10:03 pm
This has been the worst season I have ever seen of the bachelor. I am so disappointed with jake and he is a complete idiot with his choice in the end.
February 22nd, 2010 at 11:19 pm
Ashley, do you know what Missyae is reffering to in post #26 when she said she knows the real reason Russell was crying at the finale and something about what his wife said. She also said Russell was bragging during season 19 about hooking up with Parvati.
February 22nd, 2010 at 11:31 pm
She will need to clarify that duane because I do not know.
February 23rd, 2010 at 12:33 am
Have a good night all
February 23rd, 2010 at 1:35 am
First off Ashley – do you believe Rosyln or the others about the so called scandal on Bachelor? I think I almost believe her. Okay back to Survivor. Yes they are talking about a season of Richard vs Russell. The idea was brought up while 19 was airing. I did not mean Russell and Parvati had an affair by hooking up. I meant they hooked up for their alliance before season 20 started filming. I find it odd that he had time to watch tapes of 1 season before going to play and he chose the season where Parvati won. How did Parvati have an advantage? Well if you are vacationing in Samoa while 19 is being played and filmed and you are told about this new guy and what all he is doing and exactly how he is playing and exactly what the outcome was and the other 18 all stars do not have that same info – is that fair? You can make the point that all these players know all about each other but NOBODY but Parvati knew about Russell and his gameplay except Parvati. Fair? Someone asked how did Parvati know Russell before season 19 and that is not what I said. She knew of him and about him while he was filming and playing 19. Find out who was responsible for casting Russell and find out their connection to Parvati and you find the common denominator better known as who set all of this up. The only thing that remains unclear is what was Russells role in all of this? Did he get played by Parvati and her friend who USED to work for the show or was he involved and helped set all of this up by talking to her in between the time when 19 ended and 20 began? I said to one player this sure seems like alot of smoke to not have some fire and I was told, way too much damn smoke.
February 23rd, 2010 at 1:59 am
Missyae, I think roz flirted with the producer and cuddled with him and he probably kissed her forehead but I don’t think she slept with him. I think she is the type of person who needs to be the center of attention and since she couldn’t be Jakes, she found someone else to make her feel good until she was with him again.
February 23rd, 2010 at 11:30 am
Ashley, thanks for the excellent and interesting spoiler. If it turns out Parv had been aware of Russell’s game play in a way that other Survivors hadn’t, then she was given an unfair advantage. If someone from the show was involved, then that’s a criminal act and very serious.
I have this site bookmarked on my favorites and I’ve noticed that when I click on it sometimes the previous post will show up rather than the newest one. I left these comments for Summer and Jeanne on the last post before I realised there was a new one.
#93 Summer, the tickets for the hockey games cost $500.00 – $1500 each depending on the seats, but some have been selling on the blackmarket for outrageous prices of over $3000 each!! We drive down to Vancouver on Friday for the closing ceremonies on Sunday. I can’t wait!
#102 Jeanne, OH My God, I had almost chewed off my finger nails by the end of last night’s game!! It was Miller Time all the way … best goalie in the NHL, I believe. Canada out shot the US 45 to 18, but Miller was amazing! The dude’s a rockstar! We’re putting in Luongo for the do-or-die game tomorrow against Germany. Brodeur really wasn’t up to snuff last night. Ditto Pronger and Thornton. If we beat Germany and then Russia (which will be much harder), we still have a chance. I’m ever the optimist. I’d LOVE to see a re-match with the US for the gold medal! On a side note, I was proud to see that despite losing, the many thousands of disappointed fans that poured out afterwards into the Vancouver streets were still upbeat, civil and courteous. No reports of any angst filled damage or violence.
Oh, and how amazing was the ice dancing last night?! I’m not ashamed to admit I had tears in my eyes. Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir were brilliant! Also, it was great to see how happy and supportive Merrill and Charlie were of them. They so deserved their silver, and actually, in my opinion, the other American couple, Tanith and Ben should have won the bronze!
February 23rd, 2010 at 11:52 am
Cooper, I loved the ice dancing! Team Canada did a beautiful dance and deserved the gold.

Ashley and Missyae, thanks for the update and clarification.
I agree that Parvati had a fare advantage qwhich explains why she was so willing to work with him even thiugh she compared to playing with him as to playing with the devil. I guess she figured he was way too saavy by finding idols and that everyone who crossed him on season 19 got the boot, so she decided to use him. I can’t wait until the reunion show. I am glad Parvati doesn’t win this season. She didn’t deserve her first win. ZI hope CBS and Survivor keep the insider and Parvati off future shows for cheating like this!
February 23rd, 2010 at 2:31 pm
I don’t see Parv “hearing” about Russell’s previous game as a huge advantage. One could say that Russell was the only one with the disadvantage of not playing with any of the other contestants. I’m sure many of the Villains asked Russ what he did to be brought back for an All Stars season. Whether he told them the truth or not, we’ll never know, but, knowing Russell, I’m sure he bragged to them about what an awesome player he was. One can’t accuse him of being modest! It just sounds to be like some bitter people scraping for any excuse as to why they were voted off the island.
February 23rd, 2010 at 3:16 pm
#42 Cooper – Hey! Left you another message on the previous post – all I was saying was “GO CANADA” – until we have to play you again!
February 23rd, 2010 at 3:16 pm
#44 Skotie68, Thanks! That was very helpful. I’ve just done what you suggested.
#46 ChiBrad, I think it’s much more an issue only if a paid member of the staff connected with the show did in fact assist Parv by giving her information that the others didn’t have.
February 23rd, 2010 at 4:05 pm
#46 ChiBrad, Cooper.
I agree that its only an issue if the producers set it up. If she came across the information any other way then no big deal. Lets face it, survivor gameplay start way before the actual game these days. Weather its alliances formed before the show, people practicing making fire, hiring a trainer, learning how to make food from jungle resources. If you are not trying to get an edge before the game starts then you are not playing.
February 23rd, 2010 at 5:15 pm
Agreed. It’s not that I’d put it past production from skewing the game to someones favor as we witnessed on Big Brother last season with the coup d’etat for those who follow that show. It sounds to me that this person now longer works for CBS, but if she/he does, they should be fired, but let’s face it, in the TMZesque world that is Hollywood, these things are bound to happen.
February 23rd, 2010 at 10:05 pm
#47, Jeanne … We are still alive … we won 8-2 against Germany! Thanks for your support (for now!). I think I can hear you from here!
February 24th, 2010 at 11:49 am
#51 Cooper – WOO HOO!!!! Up next is Russia ( or the Russian Federation – whatever it is they are calling themselves now). GO CANADA!!! Also, the Canadian gal won the Cross Ski – she was awesome. Keep listening for my cheers (for now, of course)!
February 24th, 2010 at 3:55 pm
I can’t believe Russell ain’t the winner of Samoa and now, Heros Vs. Villians.
BOYCOTT is the way to go from here.
