Survivor Recap: Cagayan Episode 12 ‘Straw That Broke The Camel’s Back’

This is the second to last episode of Survivor Cagayan with just five players left and Tony holding two Hidden Idols. The game seems his to lose, but the other castaways might not let that happen so easily.

Picking up where we left off last week Tasha was eliminated from the tribe after a flop attempt by Kass and Woo to turn on Tony. Now Kass is in the hot seat with Tony for threatening to come after him and Trish is ready to come after Kass as well. This should be a fun night!

Back at camp Spencer is confused why Woo didn’t stick to the deal, but Woo explains he already has a final three deal. Turns out that might not be such a good deal. Tony tells us he isn’t going to keep Woo because it’d be too risky to take such a well-liked and strong player to the end.

Reward Challenge:

Players must cover themselves in mud and load it all over themselves to fill a bucket. First to fill their bucket wins pizza. Yep.

It’s a timed event and they can not directly carry it. Ugh. This is nasty but funny. Time is up!

Jeff announces it’s not even close. Tony wins with an overflowing bucket and they don’t even bother weighing them it’s so far ahead.

Tony gets to pick one other person to join him for pizza and he goes with Trish. That can’t make Woo feel too good.

Back at camp while Trish and Tony are enjoying their pizze prize Tony reveals to her he has the Special Idol and the regular Hidden Idol. They both agree they need to get rid of Woo and will need Kass to make that happen. Ahh, I see where this is going. Kass is going to take that back to Woo, isn’t she?

Kass immediately goes back and tells Woo before she turns to Tony and asks what’s going on. Kass, Kass, Kass. I don’t know if this is such a great plan, but that’s okay.

While Tony and Trish head off to get water Kass and Spencer work on Woo. Seems like Woo is realizing that he’s being betrayed by Tony and is going to make a move. Kass is suggesting Trish might be a smart target for them, but Trish overhears Kass’s comment. This could be that issue we saw in the preview.

Immunity Challenge:

Immunity is up for grabs! Players must work through a rope puzzle, build a ladder and a staircase, then complete a shuffle puzzle.

Tony undoes the ropes first. Kass is just behind him and Trish. Now Spencer has his. Woo is in last place.

Tony is still leading and finishes his ladder first. He’s on to the stair steps. Spencer is now down with his ladder but way behind Tony. This is Tony’s to lose.

Tony is at the top working on his sliding puzzle. Trish, Woo, and Kass still at the very bottom. Sheesh. Now they’re up to the middle level, but not Trish. She’s at the bottom.

Tony is flailing around on this puzzle, pushing pieces as hard as he can. Spencer joins him and is very calm and cool in his approach. It works! Spencer wins Immunity! Tony threw that away.

Back at camp Trish lets loose. She is yelling at Kass about what a terrible person Kass is which is kinda funny since a lot of the players are thinking the same stuff about Tony. Tony calms Trish down and they take a walk with Woo.

Everyone is going to be gunning for Woo. Tony is scrambling to get Woo back in to his fold. Spencer and Kass are going to try and go for Woo’s vote too. Tony is swearing up and down to Woo that he’ll keep their final three deal. Uh oh, Woo tells us he doesn’t buy it.

Woo grabs Kass and tells her he’s going to vote out Trish. Kass is hesitant to believe him after the last round of voting, but Woo is really considering it. Tony sees this conversation and is worried. Hmm, so is Tony going to use his Idol on Trish and then vote against Woo so he goes instead of Trish?

Tribal Council:

The whole Kass vs Trish fight comes up and the Jury is enjoying hearing about it. Now we’re over to Tony and him going around to everyone making F3 deals.

Tony breaks out his Special Idol and tells everyone he has to use it tonight and will still have his other powers, which he won’t disclose just yet. He’s fluffing it to scare everyone more.

It’s time to vote. Jeff tallies and reveals the votes. Wait! Yes, Tony uses his Immunity Idol on himself. Wait, huh?

Votes: Trish, Kass, Trish, Trish.

Why the heck didn’t Tony use his Idol to protect Trish and redirect the elimination? Anyway, Trish was voted off Survivor tonight.

Ahh, now we see what happened. Tony voted out Trish as well so that’s why he didn’t use his Idol on her.
