SURVIVOR SAMOA: EPISODE 9 TONIGHT 8/7C
We have a lot to look forward to on Survivor tonight. Russell is the target and has to fight to stay in the game. If he doesn’t win the immunity challenge then he will have to pull some powerful strategic moves in order to continue on.
One of the ladies kills a rat to help out her tribemates so we will get to see who coined the title of tonight’s episode, “Tastes Like Chicken”. There is speculation on the web that they will not be allowed to eat it for health reasons but I believe this has happened before on the show. Does anyone remember contestants in the past eating a rat?
TV guide says that this tribal council will be one of the most memorable so I don’t have a clue what is in store for us in that regard but it will be interesting to find out. There are not many spoilers for this episode but we do know that there is a great possibility that either John of Laura will be gone to the jury.
What do you guys think? Can Russell save himself? What will go down at Tribal and who do you think eats a rat?

Sweet I’m the 1st one to reply?? Cool cool…Ashley, I think you know you’re not gonna get anything from me as far as talking about Russell leaving…I’ll just have to sit back and watch…lol…it seems like the more I talk about him being gone, the more he’s there for the long haul!

Hey Killer! You have to admit that Russell is better now then he was at the beginning. He is arrogant in his sessions but he is playing the game. Maybe tonight he will get a piece of humble pie.

Just thought I would say that I hope ALL the spoilers are wrong this week. I don’t want to see anyone kill and eat a rat, I don’t want to see John leave, I do want Russell to step up his game and I do want to see Laura gone.

If Russell really was leaving, they wouldn’t have hyped it up so much. The spoilers are just too obvious. I think he either wins immunity or is able to trash talk his way out of it. If he leaves, then it will be a lot less interesting. I think they ate rats on the first or second Survivor… Pulau? It caused some protests from nutjobs claiming it was cruelty to animals etc. Perhaps Shambo eats one. As for the tribal counsel drama, maybe someone quits … my guess would be Jaison … thus saving Russell!
Jeff, I saw you mentioned Glee towards the end of the comments on the last post. I love that show and missed it, too!

Mama d, who are you rooting for on Top Chef? I want Robin to win just because the others are so nasty to her and she seems like a nice lady. If not her, then Jennifer, who seems to be falling apart for some reason. I hate Eli! He can pack up his knives anytime. No dude should talk to a lady the way he talks to Robin, even if he does think she’s an inferior chef. The brothers are great chefs, but boring.

looking forward to tonight’s show.. I have a customer in town for a trade-show and we are doing dinner and drinks afterwards… I just hope to be home early enough to watch the show at 8 and not have to catch up.
Talking about catching up… Have any of you seen Flash Forward? I have every episode DVR’d and am wondering if it’s worth watching them..

Cooper.. I love Top Chef, especially this season since it’s in my town — however they cast the weirdest and ugliest people on that show — it’s rare to ever find a really good looking woman!! There’s always a ton of man-looking lesbians, which I have nothing against — it’s just not what i want to see on tv… Do they not want anyone to compete with Padma? That show is interesting because we rarely get to see game-play or even their personalities REALLY come out because it’s all about the food — Even Biggest Loser (which I LOVE) has a ton of game-play and personalities — Top Chef really doesn’t

Scotty, you are so right! I’ve never seen a really beautiful woman on Top Chef. Maybe Padma has something in her contract which forbids it! This season’s lesbian, Ashley, who I really thought was a man the first show, really rocked! I wanted her to win and was sad when she got axed. The personal stories don’t come out as much as other reality shows, but I do think that aspects of their personalities become evident as they interact with each other. Take Stefan from last season and the Italian dude, whose name I can’t remember. This season, though … there really is something missing. No really colorful characters … the brothers are just like robots. I get the feeling they are only competing with each other and no one else. Eli is just nasty, and Kevin, although obviously an excellent chef, is kind of strange.

Thanks for your work on another great post, Ashley! This week has been tough – not much real spoilage like last week. That’s okay – we can all be surprised this week – that’s cool. Looking forward to watching RussHell scramble to save his crusty-undies backside. If anyone can save themselves in this game, it’s him!

I think the top chef producers were hoping for more sibling fights and rivalry and they are just boring!! Ashley was a great chef, but the ugly stick didn’t miss her! I also hate all the tattoos and smokers on these shows!! It just looks dirty — I’m sure they all clean up well, but i don’t want some gross freak cooking my food!!
My wife is a le cordon bleu trained chef and is hot and strait! The brunette who kissed one of the other contestants last year was kinda cute, except when she spoke in private she sounded like a wigger and idiot…
I also hate how they all call one another chef — Hey Chefs… Hi Chef!! oyyyyyy
As far as Survivor, I don’t think the loss of Russell would be that boring for the rest of the season… He’s certainly dominated this season and I’m personally ready for them to blind-side him and have his ass come in and watch them every week from the jury side!!

PS: All the smoking is why I stopped watching Hell’s Kitchen last season — it seemed that EVERY one of them was either a chain smoker or ugly or both and it’s just GROSS!

@ #11 Ashley… We have them all DVR’d.. i’ve heard mixed reviews and have gotten sucked into new shows, just to have them cancelled — I wanted to watch Trauma, but something stopped me — thank goodness i did!
I’ve heard mixed reviews of Flash Forward.. Wifey says for us to save it till when some of the shows go into a winter break — like Amazing Race, DWTS, etc… However we are waiting till Dexter ends, so we can watch the whole season on demand — can probably do the same thing with flash forward rather than take up valuable DVR space

The main reason I don’t watch Hell’s Kitchen anymore is because I can’t stand Gordon Ramsay. What a tool. His mouth and attitude is even uglier than most of the contestants, which is saying something!

Cooper Chef Ramsay is awesome, soooo entertaining. I think he is a nice guy with his wife and kid, he is just playing a part for the show.

blackgirl,I was in England this past summer visiting relatives and a scandal had broken out there. Ramsay admitted cheating on his wife … he had two different woman on the side and even paid their rent etc. he was photographed on holiday with one of them. He made a public apology to his wife and four kids.

I don’t know which dude you are referring to — all i know is there’s a lot of unattractive people on these cooking shows and it has to stop!! LOL
I actually don’t mind Ramsey — as he is complimentary when he likes something and is good with the winning teams!
What I actually miss is The Apprentice! Enough of this Celebrity Apprentice with Donald trying to make has-been sports stars and b-list actors come off as they are the top in their field… What about old-school Apprentice — I LOVED it!!

The old Apprentice totally rocked! I loved it, too. I detest Celebrity Apprentice! I had never heard of half the so-called stars Donald had on the show, and the other half I loathed even more by the end. Give your hairpiece/transplant a shake, Mr. Trump and bring back the old ballsy Apprentice!

Why aren’t the girls ever smart enough to start eliminating the guys before the guys have the numbers to do it to the girls? It gets very frustrating to watch the girls, season after season, be so needy & dumb.

@ Ashley…thanks for the new post but eating a rat? I agree with Cooper[season 1 or 2] Remember when a tribe killed a PIG!! Holy crap hit the fan and that came to an end..fast!!I said before ,I’m starting to loose taste for chicken..If snakes and rats and other things taste like chicken??If the rat was well cleaned and cooked[well-cooked] would it still be harmful?? Zeldakay, I don’t understand why the girls don’t come together either. However, I dislike the Laura and Monica alliance so if one of them leaves it will be fine with me. It is possible that Erik’s idol will be rehidden since it was never used and then Russell could find it and that could be the way he saves himself.

In the past they’ve always re-introduced the hidden immunity idols when they weren’t played and put them back into the mix… and the ones played (like Russell’s bone-head move), are done.

#7 Cooper love Top Chef Im rooting for Kevin I think he is great . Couldnt stand the way Robin was treated. Eli was horrible to her , Mike was awful to her ,but the worst was twin Micheal. He is very arrogant and by far the worst to Robin, and unless I missed something I never seen her mean to anyone truly uncalled for. Ashley the 1 st season they ate a rat . In particular I remember Gervase Peterson eating it.

i loved shambo’s response to laura’s little comment too. she’s playing them and i love it. i called russ finding another idol, but i think the next one is gonna be buried so you got to have some clues. galu looks paranoid as hell in the next episode and hopefully foa foa can use that to their advantage.

Good episode. I really didnt dislike Kelly would of preferred it to be Monica but ok. Really dont like Laura hope she doesnt win anymore immunities.Yeah previews are really distorting that is why I dont put much into them however the next week preview with everyone running after Russel to find the immunity idol is hilarious.

Well, gotta hand it to the Worminator for finding hidden immunity idol again, without a clue. Then, he showed it to Shambo, then his Foas. But, it worked out and Galus were totally taken aback. I thought it was sweet watching Erik root for their demise.
Now, they hide another one? The preview of Galus chasing Russell shows their desperation. Who knows? Maybe he will pull a Laura and win individual immunity all on his own.
Now the numbers get interesting. If the 4 Foas stick together, and Shambo plays along with them, it’s an even split. Could be anybody’s game now. Guess those Galu girls are pissed with Natalie now, as she convinced them to vote out Erik, then this week went with the Foa blindside in ousting Kelly. At what point will the tribemates start turning on each other within their original tribes? There will have to be some side final 2 or 3 deals in the works.
One final thought…whatever happened to the other 2 chickens? Did they disappear into a Samoan black hole with Shambo’s snorkeling gear?
Great episode tonight. Can’t wait until next week.

What does a rat eat?…and if you cleaned him would you gut it like a fish? Is it’s organs considered healthy? Their called disease because they pick up a lot of germs on their fury coats, right? How are they born?

I’m not understanding why someone would not eat a rat? Basic survival skills and a rat is good eats.
But with that…I have become a HUGE Russell fan.
