Jennifer Lyon, Survivor Palau, Dies at Age 37

Jennifer Lyon, who finished fourth in her season of Survivor, has died of breast cancer at the age of 37. She was on Tom Westman’s team and tied with Ian at tribal council. She then lost the fire making challenge which sent her to the jury.

Jenn was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and had a double masectomy followed by chemo therapy according to US magazine. Another friend and former Survivor contestant, Johnny Fairplay, tells Us, “Jen was such a beautiful person. I wish life was as simple as survivor because i know for a fact there are 300 of us that would use every immunity idol and jury vote in the world to have her back.” She spoke at a breast cancer charity event in New York in November 2008 and received a standing ovation. She is known to have a positive attitude through out her ordeal and Austin Carty, an alum of Survivor: Panama – Exlie Island (2006), briefly dated Lyon in 2006 and said ”Jen was a genuinely selfless, sweet-natured person,” Carty told UsMagazine.com Wednesday. “She always had a smile.
