Survivor One World: Winner’s Interview With Kim

All season long, CBS has asked the Survivor One 2012 castoffs questions from fans on Facebook and Twitter and they’ve released the latest, which is actually for Survivor One World winner Kim Spradlin.

Here’s what you, the fans, and she had to say:

Sonya H.: KIM, what are some of the things you are planning to use the money for?
Kim – I have two bridesmaid boutiques that I could put a little money in to. I have some bills to pay and I’m looking to have a little fun and travel.

Ralph W.: Congratulations, Kim! Well earned. Were you surprised that Chelsea did not receive any votes at the final vote?
Kim: Yes initially. During the gameplay I thought she was my biggest competition

Patrick C.: Kim: Were you ever considering of betraying Chelsea and Sab and joining Alicia and Christina instead to the final 3? and if so do you think you would have still won? and also do you think Chelsea and Sab would respect that move and still give you their jury votes?
Kim: Sure, I always was willing to do what it took to win. In the end I realized these 2 would be my best move. Don’t know if I still would have won. I think Chelsea would have but I don’t think Sabrina would have but I don’t know for sure.

Sherrie M.: Kimberly, is the immunity idol you never used going to be a keepsake?
Kim: No, I gave to Troy following the game.

Jeff P.: My question is for Kim, were you surprised at how easily everyone fell in line with you? How worried were you that the jury was going to vote out of spite and not give you the prize? And lastly, since you already have a million, are you going to donate the 100k?
Kim: Yes, I was surprised. I was extremely surprised. I am still deciding what I want to do with the money.

Survivor 2012: Jeff Probst Calls One World A Let Down; Ratings Agree

Survivor One World watchers weren’t the only ones who thought this season was a bit of a bore. Even host Jeff Probst revealed his true feelings about the season to Entertainment Weekly.

“I think this season was a bit of a letdown,” Jeff said. “No fault of the Survivors, we are the producers. We just didn’t have the standout moments and characters needed for a great season.”

Jeff says that won’t be the case for next season. Survivor Philippines “is going to be a return to GREAT Survivor. I really believe we will remind the audience of how fun Survivor can be.”

Ratings for the finale were also down. Looks like after about week four when it became clear Kim was going to steamroll all the way to the end a couple of folks decided they could use that three hours on Sunday for something more productive. According to reports, the ratings were 10.22 million for the finale and 8.07 million stuck around for the live reunion. That’s down 30 percent for the finale compared to last Spring. The reunion was down 29 percent.

Survivor Philippines: Season 25 Begins Fall 2012

Last night on the Survivor One World finale we learned a little more about the next Survivor 2012 season: Philippines. Host Jeff Probst introduced us to next season’s twist and it’s a twist on a twist that I’d rather not see again: returning players.

On season 25 of Survivor there will be three tribes, presumably six castaways in each, and one of those castaways from each tribe will be a returning player who was previously eliminated for medical reasons. I wonder how long after Colton’s departure during One World the production team decided they needed to find a way to get him back because this seems tailor made for just that reason. Don’t forget Jeff Probst also asked Colton during the One World Reunion show if he would come back for another season.

The preview segment for Survivor Philippines features lots of past season clips with injuries and evacuations all the way back to season 2 in Australia when Michael Skupin fell in to the fire and became the first castaway evacuated for medical reasons. If you were building the list of three returning castaways who saw their time on Survivor cut short, who would you want back for Survivor 25?

Survivor One World Finale Recap: Who Won Survivor 2012?

Survivor One World – what’s been called by many the most predictable, boring and dumbest season of Survivor yet – concluded Sunday night with more predictable, boring and dumb stuff.

And even though there’s really nothing to spoil to anyone who has watched any of this season, I’ll still write this recap in consecutive order in case some still wants to pretend there might have been some suspense in tonight’s Survivor 2012 finale.

At the start of the three-hour finale (two hours were pre-taped on the island and the third hour was the live crowning and reunion), we get the big flashback scenes. It was nice to be reminded that only two things happened all season: Colton was a bully and Kim steamrolled all the way to the end.

And like any competition show at this point, we get the who is aligned with whom and who is going home. And all the flip-flopping and all the pointless talk. Is Kim taking Christina and Alicia or is Kim taking Chelsea and Sabrina? Those were apparently the only two possible options. Which says even more about this season.

At the first immunity challenge, for a split second it looks like Christina might win. Then maybe Chelsea. And that’s a good thing because for at list 30 seconds or so, Kim plans to send Chelsea home that night because she thinks the guys would vote for her to win the $1 million. But like always, Kim wins. So we can all go back to sleep until the next challenge.

We get more of the OMG who are we voting for!? Me? you? Who!?!?!? talk and I want to eat poison. Is Kim keeping Chelsea or Alicia!?!?!?!?!?

At the first Tribal Council of the night, everyone is secure that they’re safe because Kim is actually playing them that well (or are they just stupid?). So it’s Alicia is gets a bit of a blindside and is sent to jury.

The next day the best thing that happens is that Christina “admits” that her strategy the whole time was to play the helpless, mindless, spineless hack. Oh really? Well then, well-played. But whatever. Who is really buying that. You have to kick in the actual game-play at sometime and she never does. Not even in a few minutes when she really should.

So Kim wins the next immunity challenge. Yeah, I know, I didn’t explain it. At this point is there any need? Kim wins again and she’s going to the final tribal council. I could pretend there was some suspense but there wasn’t.

OK, back to Christina and how she should have finally started playing the game. She asks Kim if she’s going home tonight because she doesn’t want any surprises. Kim says yes. And Christina says “OK.” and that’s that. No deals. No fighting. Nothing. She takes it and goes off to chase butterflies, I imagine.

At Tribal Council Jeff asks who is going home and Christina says it’s her. Jeff politely tells her she’s stupid for not fighting for it and she offers an explanation that explains nothing and they vote her out.

So the Survivor One World final three are Kim, Sabrina and Chelsea.

At the following Tribal Council, the complete jury returns and they have complete power in deciding who is going to win Survivor One World. Each of the final three get to make their opening statements.

Chelsea tries to grab a vote from Jonas and Tarzan by flattering them, but other than that I’m pretty sure she kind of just said “oh, just vote for Kim.” I might be wrong, but I sure didn’t hear her pleading much of her own case. Of course there was clearly some major editing, but I doubt she said that much more.

Kim says that she loves Survivor and that she’s proud of herself and that she hopes everyone forgives her for blindsiding them. She’s so confident she doesn’t even need to beg.

Sabrina delivers the best speech. She’s clearly the most well-spoken and even throws in the fact that she was laid off from her job before heading off to film Survivor. Good move. Maybe she will snatch this game away from Kim yet. (Yeah right).

The jury members get to ask their questions next. Everyone asks the typical canned questions. Kat makes it all about her, as does Alicia. Did you know that Kat and Kim played the EXACT same game? Hahahahaahhahahahahahahaha.

The jury votes. So who won Survivor 2012? We’ll have to cut to the live results show in New York City to find out. Jeff starts revealing the votes and it goes like this: One vote for Kim. One vote for Sabrina. Two votes for Kim. Two votes for Sabrina. Three, four, five votes for Kim. NO votes for Chelsea. Kim wins Survivor One World.

And we can all roll our eyes and say “Really!? Shocker!”

We move on to the Survivor One World live finale, and since he loves bullying, I’ll start with some good old-fashioned Colton bullying. He’s so chubby now! He was starting to look pretty good before his deadly constipation got him flown off the island on a stretcher. I did feel sorry for his poor mother. And I’m pretty sure no one is going to feel any less hate for Colton because his “I’m sorry” was pretty much the worst one I’ve ever heard/seen.

Not much else came out of the reunion, except that Kim won the Player of the Season prize of $100,000, which was voted on by the fans. So that means she won $1,100,000. Oh and I think Mike said “In all fairity.” So that’s worth making fun of.

So that’s the end of this season. Thank goodness. See you next season in the Philippines. Everyone cross your fingers Colton isn’t one of the lucky ones to return next season.

Survivor 2012 One World Finale Results

It’s time to find out who won Survivor 2012 One World. When tonight’s show begins we’re left with just five castaways but by the end of the night there will be only one Survivor! The only thing we know so far: it’s going to be a woman.

The first challenge of the night is for immunity. Castaways will start with a knot challenge that leads to a balance beam maze requiring a complete start-over if they fall off. From there they’ll have to collect bags of puzzle pieces to get another combination lock code and unlock immunity.

Alicia is the first through the maze with Chelsea right behind her. They were the last two through the knot challenge, so leading didn’t help them. Chelsea is the first to the final puzzle with her parts while Alicia ends up second to last there after screwing up the parts collection. Kim is the first through the puzzle, but she still has to figure out the clues to unlock immunity. After several failed attempts and a close race with Chelsea and Alicia the win goes to Kim, her third of the season.

Heading to tribal council things are up in the air. The outcome looks to be in Kim’s hands. When Jeff reveals the votes it’s close. Chelsea receives two votes. Alicia receives three votes. Alicia is eliminated and we have our Final Four. We don’t get to see for sure who voted against who, but the camera is slow to cut away and we can see Christina makes a long first swipe with her pen rather than a curve. Looks like Christina may have saved Chelsea’s hide while Kim actually voted against her.

The next big challenge is a hard one for sure. The remaining castaways have to carefully navigate an easily toppled structure while stacking bowls. This looks nearly impossible, but I guess it’s not. Sure enough, Kim is leading by just a little with Christina right behind her and Chelsea in third. Jeff points out Sabrina isn’t even a competitor in this one since she’s so far back. No surprise here to see Kim win yet again. She’s certainly earned her ticket to the end.

At tribal council we find a resigned Christina who is ready to “roll over and die” as it’s stated. She didn’t even try to rally votes to stay. Now we’ll see if Kim has changed her mind to keep Christina. Nope, they stick to the plan. By a vote of 3-1 (Sabrina received Christina’s vote), Christina is eliminated. The final three castaways are Kim, Sabrina, and Chelsea. Now we’ll see what the jury thinks who should win the $1 million prize.

I’ll save the details for Branden’s recap, but there’s a lot of frustration in the jury but also a lot of respect. Perhaps the most bizarre was Alicia’s delusional rant that she was a “queen” in the game with her own “pawns” versus Kim and hers. She really seems to think she played a powerful game. Ah well. Tarzan has a nice speech about his wife and doesn’t bother to ask any questions. Plenty of other moments to see, but you’ll have to watch it to enjoy them.

Shifting to the live portion of the Survivor 2012 finale we’re about to hear the jury’s votes.

Survivor 2012 One World Finale Tonight

Tonight is the big night. It’s Survivor One World finale Sunday and like the CBS promos say, girl power dominates for the first time in Survivor history.

The all-female final five will face three tribal councils in two hours to be named the ultimate Survivor. Following the two-hour finale at 8 pm, the Survivor One World reunion starts at 10 pm.

So who will become the ultimate Survivor? Kim, Christina, Chelsea, Sabrina or Alicia? The entire 2012 season has been hinting at one outcome and one outcome alone. And that’s that the $1 million will be going in Kim’s pocket. Could we see a shakeup? Could we get our first actual shocking moment of the season? Or will the finale play out like everyone expects, just like the rest of this season? Let’s all cross our fingers for some excitement for a change.

Survivor One World: Tomorrow is Finale Sunday!

Don’t forget about the Survivor One World season finale tomorrow night.

The final five are set to battle it out to become the winner of the 24th installment of the CBS competition show. Before the end of the night, the contestants will sit through three Tribal Councils, giving us the Top 3 and finally, the winner.

So who is going to be the Survivor 2012 winner? Kim? That’s the obvious choice. But can Chelsea, Alicia, Sabrina or Christina pull of the win? We’ll have to find out tomorrow.

Following the finale, we’ll get the reunion special. Who else is ready to hear what good ole Colton has to say?

Survivor One World: Tarzan The Day After Elimination

Tarzan had his Survivor One World torch snuffed this week and now we’ve got his exit interview, and to no one’s surprise, he goes on and on about a bunch of nothing. And after you wash off the dirt, he kind of looks like Nick Notle.

He talks about whether or not be was playing smart or playing dumb but he does say he is proud to have been the last man standing and even more proud that a woman (Kat) went before him.

“64 years old … last man standing!” He said. “Not the biggest, not the toughest, not the most athletic but smart enough to be the last man standing.”

He goes on to talk about what he should do to fake the others out. So was he just playing the game by acting kind of off his rocker? I’m not sure just yet. This was just the day after. So maybe he’s still just tired and hungry.

Survivor 2012 One World: Episode 13 Results

After a brief insight to Tarzan’s plan (don’t get eliminated) and Kim’s plan (don’t let anyone know I’m getting them all eliminated) we jump right in to the luxury challenge, “Wheel Spinning.” The castaways have to spin to release their parts to a spinning combination lock. Chelsea jumps in to the lead for solving the combination and is determined to try every option until she finds the right one. Sure enough, she beats out close competition from Sabrina, Kim, and Christina.

Jeff proclaims Chelsea the winner of a trip to a sailboat where she can enjoy a shower, dinner, and restful night’s sleep. It’s never simple though because she’ll have to pick two people to go with her. First up is Sabrina. Next is Tarzan. I’m kidding. Who else but Kim? So they journey off and enjoy the spoils of Chelsea’s victory while the rest of the Bitter Brigade heads back to camp.

Heading in to tonight’s immunity challenge it looks like Chelsea is in the hot seat with Tarzan waiting in the wings. Big decisions await the outcome of this competition. Of course we’ve heard that before and speaking of repeats, tonight’s challenge “Bone to Pick” is a repeat. The castaways use one hand to pick up puzzle pieces and carefully place a fishbone along the spine of the fish. First to finish wins it all.

Kim and Alicia take a good lead against Tarzan, Christina, and Chelsea. After some back and forth Kim loses her lead back to Alicia who loses it back to Kim. Just seconds apart the win goes to Alicia, her first immunity win of the season. Kim was just a few steps behind her. Now that Alicia has a win her ego should be in full bloom and entertain us.

At Tribal Council things look bad for Tarzan as the women appear to be realigning, but then we’re reminded what happened to Kat when she made some unpopular selections after her luxury challenge. Well hold that thought, because apparently wearing women’s clothing isn’t the best idea when you’re the last man standing. Tarzan is voted out and Chelsea remains. I’m not going to complain.

Survivor 2012 Spoilers: One World Episode 13 Challenge

Tonight’s Survivor 2012 episode, 13th in the One World season, will feature a challenge called “spinning wheel” and we’ve got the spoilers video for it down below.

The “spinning wheel” challenge won’t be for immunity, but rather for a reward. Kat might remember the danger of winning those and say something like, “cool beans!” Whatever they win will be well earned as the castaways will be doing lots of dizzy, vomit-inducing maneuvering to get to the finish line. Check out the video below for this challenge.

Immunity will be offered up in the “Bone to Pick” challenge which looks to involve one arm being tied behind the back of the competitors. The results on both challenges will be posted live throughout tonight’s episode of Survivor One World.
