Survivor 2010: Episode 8 “Expectations”

Survivor 2010 Press Release:  A NEW POWER PLAYER EMERGES AS A PLAN IS PUT INTO MOTION THAT COULD CHANGE THE DIRECTION OF THE ENTIRE GAME, ON “SURVIVOR: HEROES VS. VILLAINS,” THURSDAY, APRIL 8“Expectations” – Struggling to keep their tribe intact, the “Heroes” vow to work together as long as it takes to ensure that they outlast the “Villains.”    Meanwhile, the “Villains” begin to turn on one another after one tribe member makes a costly mistake at the Reward Challenge, on SURVIVOR: HEROES VS. VILLAINS, Thursday, April 8 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

According to Blackwhale’s spoilers we read last week, Parvati is suppose to emerge as a power player beginning this week so could that be what the press release is referring too?

Reward Challenge:  The Merge fakeout – It looks like the tribes are thinking they are about to merge but no this won’t happen yet.  They don’t merge at twelve but the jury does begin.  The merge will happen this season at 10.

This looks like the set up from Samoa when they had the gross food challenge.  What do you think?  Since the Villains make a costly mistake I’d say Heroes win reward again.  Sandra and Coutrney sit out on the Villains side.

Immunity Challenge:  Mudslide from Guatemala.  On the CBS website we get this description, “Divide into two teams of two women and two men. Each male or female pair is connected by a rope and must race through a mud-pit obstacle course. At the end of the course are clay pots filled with corn. Each team must slog back through the mud to the starting line with the pot of corn and use it to fill a larger pot. The first team to fill the larger pot wins.”  Danielle and Jerri are sitting out for the Villains.

Heroes win immunity!  According to missyae, Coach sees Russell for what he is and in Russ’s world that means Coach has to go.  Blackwhale’s spoilers for this episode again:  With Coach having acted against Sandra and Courtney, he has given them reason to go the other way. All of the girls are not interested in keeping Coach so he can continually vote for girls and sway whereever the wind blows. He’s struck against Parvati, he’s struck against Courtney, so Parvati convinces her alliance to remove him. In episode 8, after Rob is gone, Russell has lost his storyline, and Parvati will finally shine through as a power player. Unlike Russell’s willingness to take risks for her, she is not at all concerned with Russell’s welfare. She doesn’t see the sense in striking at Sandra or Courtney when they are targeting Russell. I think this will be the episode where we see the ever-important alliance between Sandra and Parvati emerge in the editing. I know Coach gets at least the 5 votes from Parvati, Courtney, Russell, Danielle and Sandra, and I believe Jerri might even jump on the bandwagon. Coach again will vote for Courtney.
Coach becomes the first member of our jury.
