The Survivor 2012 One World bit didn’t last long. The tribes were not only shaken up Wednesday night, but one was sent off to a new “world.”

So why call the show Survivor One World? Oh well. I give up trying to understand reality TV producers.

At the top of the show we get the news delivered pretty quickly. Just before the reward challenge, Jeff tells the Survivors that they’re swapping tribes. They each have to grab an egg and smash it on their bodies. The colors that come out represent their new tribes. Blue is Salani and Orange is Manono.

The new tribes

Salani: Jay, Michael, Kat, Troyzan, Chelsea, Kim and Sabrina.

Manono: Colton, Tarzan, Christina, Leif, Monica, Alicia and Jonas.

Well, at least the numbers are even, but that’s about it. The really good news is that Colton hates his new tribe and he just doesn’t know what to do being kind of “a bunch of idiots.” The bad news is… well there is no bad news as far as I’m concerned.

For the reward challenge, the tribes are playing for peanut butter and jelly and coffee. The losing team doesn’t get any and has to head off to another beach to start a new camp from scratch. Colton loses. And of course I mean Manono loses, but it’s more fun to say Colton loses. So Manono members head off to build their new camp while Colton works on his master plan of basically destroying his tribe and his chances at winning the game.

Colton pretends he’s with the girls of his new team, but he’s really still with the guys. At least that’s what he’s saying this minute. Give him a minute and he’ll be saying something else. Already prepared to lose the immunity challenge, he starts plotting who to send home. He first puts his sights on Christina. But Alicia refuses to go against the girls. Even though she hated Christina. Later, Colton changes his mind once again and decides to work against arguably their best player, Monica. And for some reason, Alicia forgets her women alliance and agrees this time.

So the plot is in motion. Christina and Monica think everyone is voting out Tarzan while everyone else knows it’ll be Monica. You know if they happen to lose the challenge.

Since there are two tribes, let’s cut to the really good one for a moment. Elsewhere, Kim finds the immunity idol and decides to tell Chelsea. So it looks like the women alliance in the Salani Tribe might actually have a better chance at survival. As if there was any question.

At the immunity challenge, which was really just a ruleless, nasty version of ocean basketball, Michael and Jay dominated the game for the Salani Tribe and sent the Manonos to Tribal Council. Shocker.

So Monica continues to remain oblivious to Colton’s senseless plan but there remains a glimmer of hope. It seems Tarzan is kind of crazy. A crazy genius, but still crazy. And he can’t seem to remember who to vote for. In the end, he does remember who to vote for and Monica is sent packing, completely blindsided.

The thing with Colton is, he isn’t playing with his head. He’s just playing the game with one goal: to get people to follow his ideas. Even if they’re bad ones. Just because you get a bunch of people to do what you want doesn’t mean it’s a good move. Take Charles Manson for example.
