It’s the Survivor season of blindsides! Last night’s episode of Blood Vs Water was just as exciting as we’ve been expecting with the end of Redemption Island (more on that) and the beginning of a new tribe with the merge.

Survivor 2013 – Episode 8 – Redemption Island:
Laura B arrives to join John and Laura M. It’s their last challenge before someone gets sent back in to the game while the other two will be eliminated. The castaways have to hold on to a pole for as long as they can without touching the ground.
Laura B immediately struggles and slides down bit by bit. But before she can hit the ground John loses his grip, kicks off his shoes, and does everything he can to avoid the inevitable. John is out. Laura B isn’t far behind though and that makes Laura M the victor. She’ll re-enter the game.
Survivor 2013 – Episode 8 – Tribe Merge:
Following the Redemption Island challenge Jeff announces the tribes are merged. The new tribe is named Kasama. Looks like they’ll be stationed at the old Tadhana camp.
Survivor 2013 – Episode 8 – Immunity Challenge:
This week’s Survivor Immunity Challenge was a memory game. Jeff would show flashcards of items and then ask the players to recall and show him the next in the series.
A few are knocked out as the rounds go (see our full recap for who did what each round) until it’s just Gervase, Aras, and Vytas. Then in the final two it’s just the brothers.
Vytas manages to defeat Aras for safety and takes home immunity. Good thing for him. Bad for Aras.
Survivor 2013 – Episode 8 – Tribal Council:
Heading in to Tribal Council there are at least a half-dozen different plans. Aras thinks they’ll go after Ciera. Ciera thinks they’ll go after Aras. Laura thinks they should split votes and go after Tina. Gervase has a few options at hand as well. It’s nuts.
When the votes are revealed no one plays an immunity idol even though Tyson finally found the hidden one. Jeff announces the votes and we discover that Aras is finally voted out off Survivor.
Survivor 2013 – Episode 9 – Next Time On:
Oh great. Redemption Island isn’t done just yet after all. Jeff tells Aras he’s been voted out but still has a shot at getting back in to the game. Sigh.
