FOA FOA’S “Mental Plague” Is Voted Off Samoa Island
I was really looking forward to blogging about fresh personalities and a different perspective this week, but for a 3rd time, Foa Foa fails to win immunity. (Sigh…I don’t know about you, but I am fed up, no pun intended) Nevertheless, last night’s episode did manage to offer some insight to Galu, provide an outsider with a welcoming temporary home, eliminate a plague, and bring someone other than BRussell to the forefront.
Will we ever get to know Galu? We’ve had little exposure to the dynamics of the Galu tribe, and it limits our point of view. If we listen to Shambo, they are oblivious to their surroundings and are more like a “yoga practicing 90210 click”, but I don’t trust the perception of a self-proclaimed sword-fishing expert who put swamp wading over the welfare of her tribe. It’s unbelievable to me that Shambo claims to be the provider of her tribe…She actually said, “I’m not doin’ the warm and fuzzy, I’m doin’ the Rambo Shambo provider role out here.” Really? Hey Shambo, got Fish? Give me a break…I’m willing to bet that while she was complaining on camera and the four members were doing Yoga, the five others were out getting water, firewood, and food. Whatever Galu is doing at camp, it’s obviously working for their team and, like it or not, Shambo continues to benefit from it, only she fails to recognize it.
GRussel on the other hand, is warm and fuzzy, especially toward the ladies, but this may be to his own demise. He tried to justify his decision for comfort over practicality, and the men of the tribe weren’t convinced. This decision just may come back to haunt him. However, GRussel’s best decision for both tribes may have been the person he chose to visit the opposing camp.
Foa Foa – The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly…
Shambo is the 2nd member of Galu to visit Foa Foa, and it seems to me that she is on the wrong tribe. What a difference from Yasmin!! She was more than “warm and fuzzy” with this tribe and was a hit with both Natalie and Ashley, who simply loved her…She was sociable, brought positive energy, was very complimentary to Liz, flirty with “MickDreamy” and “bright eyed Ben” (her words not mine), and received an approval nod from Jaison. Good for you Shambo! Notice whose name is missing here? BRussell’s facial expression spoke volumes, and I’m guessing the feeling was mutual.
A new star is born and his name is Jaison…At the top of the show, he labeled Ben as a “Mental Plague on the tribe”, made his intentions known, followed through, and successfully executed his plan to vote him off the island. Ben had alienated Ashley, and it was easy for Jaison to rely upon the sensitivity of her and Natalie. Of course, threatening to quit didn’t hurt either…I’m thinkin’ it’s a good thing they didn’t call his bluff. Russell is building trust between he and Mick, or so it seems, and at Ben’s expense, he made an effort to solidify his trust with Jaison and all other tribe members by voting with the majority. Racism and/or the perception of racism is a reality, and no one has to tolerate it. This was Jaison’s motivation, and he clearly wanted to send a message. Hey Ben, I guess no one warned you about the dangers of quiet storms…Bye Bye, MickDreamy will be lighting the fires from now on!!!
Will Foa Foa be picked off one by one? Will Mick really prove to be a man of his word? Does Shambo have a chance at reuniting with her new found buddies? If so, will she meet the same fate as Betsy? ….and What’s next for Jaison?

GREAT Blog!!!! I like the way you think, except one or two little things. Regarding Grussell’s decision, I think that he made a very quick decision, to my taste, they gave him 5, to think about it, and he took, I think, less than one, he should have turned towards his tribe members to see their reactions. The tarp may not be as soft as the pillows, but it could bring COMFORT in raining days, the lantern besides being categorized as function I would consider it as a luxury COMFORT, the fishing gear could had helped towards the COMFORT of eating.
I was very happy when Brussell was throwing all his ideas, as boxing punches, to Jaison and others, trying to save his friend, Ben, and the only obstacle that he could not CONTROL was Jaison.. Jaison kept blocking those punches and throwing some of his own, Brussell never realize that Jaison’s punches were knock-outs.

I think Jaison is starting to be an awesome player. If he’s smart he’ll steal the idol from under Brussell’s nose and evict him,if
they lose another competition. Shambo smambo not Rambo. One of the girls should give her a survivor makeover, because the mullet needs to go.Maybe they could use it as fishing lures.

If Galu goes to tribal this week Shambo is a goner.
1)Losing the snorkel piece, not catching fish
2)Not fitting in with the other tribemates and seperating herself from them
3) She will go back to her tribe and report back that she got along with Foo Foo very well. Galu will see her as a threat come merge time because she will have possible alliances already with the remaining Foo Foo members.
If Foo Foo goes to tribal Ashley is the supposed target this week. It would be a perfect time to backdoor BRussell. Ben was his strongest ally. Jaison with the 3 girls would be enough votes to do it. If Liz refuses to vote for Brussell, Mick could propably be swayed to vote with them. If Liz or Mick don’t go along they will be gone next. They have to make Brussell think they are voting for Ashley to keep him from playing the idol. If he does play the idol it may not be any good in his camp.

Thanks L.A. – Truth be told, GRussell was probably stuck between a rock and hard place…The women zoomed in on the comfort and the men zoomed in on the tarp. For GRussell’s sake, I hope it didn’t rain too soon after his decision. He meant well.
anet40 – You have a point about the idol. Exposing it is risky, and having it doesn’t guarantee safety. He could fail to use it and get voted out when he least expects it. Remember the guy who had two immunity idols and still got blind sided?…lol! I bet he’s still kicking himself today.

BRussell is displays all of that on camera, but the difference between him and Ben, for example, is that he is smart enough to conceal these characteristics around his tribe members. Trust or lack thereof, is a given in this game, but I don’t think that they consider him a real threat yet.

That’s whats so entertaining about him…It’s like watching a little gremlin in action, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
I’d like to add that he is also smart enough to recognize when it’s best to humble himself…He knew that he had to follow Jaison’s lead this week.

Regarding Jaison, BRussell tried all kind of mental tricks, and seeing his brilliant plan destroyed by Jaison, made me feel so proud of my state representative.
That put Jaison as a hero rescuing his tribe of destruction of the evil presence called BRussell.

BRussell wanted to keep Ben around as a distraction, but when Jaison asked him to tell him how Ben was an asset in challenges, he lost any chance of leverage and persuasion power.
Kudos to Jaison…I like him, and I really want him to shake off the events of the past two weeks, get his head in the game, and move on.

#16 – This is my concern. If that happens, the tribe will consist of Ash, Nat, Liz, Mick, Jaison, and considering there track record, I don’t think it’s wise to get rid of a strong physical player a this stage of the game. In my opinion, Ash and Nat are interchangeable, and I would send one of them home first.

I think that Galu’s time has come…this isn’t the first time that one tribe dominated another, but I don’t remember the focus being so one sided. I’m ready for the focus to be on Galu, because the merge will be here before we know it.

As I told you before, I always like to have 2 or 3 favs. in each tribe. I think it is like cheating a little bit, but this way, I have better chances of having one of my favs. making it to the end. I do not want to disappoint myself, when my only chosen one is gone (all that rooting for nothing)
For example, at the very beginning, my first choice was Marissa, I did not have had time to choose my other fav. (my first and only choice) and she was gone the very first day.
Just yesterday, I decided to choose Jaison and Mick (Foa Foa)
Jeff had mentioned something about Monica. I checked her out with the help of her bio. and I decided to pick her together with Erik (Galu) But it is not the same, I like to see them interacting with the other tribe-members, Well, I do not have a choice, as you said, we may never see them.

anet40-(#2/49) I did respond to you but didn’t mention your name. Shambo is in trouble in her tribe and liked by the other tribe. I hate the mullet too. Her BIO says she lost nearly 40 pounds getting ready for the show. I bet she looked a lot worse then. As far as Jaison I wouldn’t say that he has taken over the game quite yet. If BRussell hadn’t dropped his push to get rid of Ashley she would have been gone with a 3-3 tie and she is the only member of the tribe with votes against her determining the tie breaker. (three votes week one and one vote week three) This is Jaisons week to shine. If he plays it smart he will backdoor BRussell. If he doesn’t he is gone next week propably because he will lose Ashley’s all important vote and Brussell will have the numbers to evict him. This is assuming that they continue loosing the challenges. The Foo Foos are about to the point where they can forget about keeping powerful people to win the challenges and get ready for the merge. Shambo suffers a shoulder injury this week or possibly next week.I don’t know how bad it is, but if she is removed from the game, who would be the next tribemate in the pecking order for the 90210 tribe. June- I agree Foo Foo is to the point where they don’t even need to worry about playing for the team. They just need to stick it out a few weeks for the merge. Production can’t get ratings with completely one sided competitions. They will make a move soon to make it more interesting.

@L.A. #31 – Thanks for responding to Lav…I knew I could count on you!! #32 – Yea, Marissa’s early departure was a blow to Jeff, too. Time will tell, but next weeks preview shows Erik teaming up with Shambo to find the immunity idol…Apparently, one or both of them thought of using the FFoa clues to find the one hidden at Galu. This has been true in previous seasons. If so, this is a smart move on her part and may bye her a little more time. She’s a good pick for Erik to have a “secret” alliance with, especially if she trusts his judgment. Think about it, he could potentially vote off any one he wants with just one vote, Shambo’s. A landslide vote for Shambo is a no brainer, but if she uses the idol, that nullifies the majority. If I had to guess, I could see them agreeing on GRussell, because she hasn’t respected him from day one, and now, Erik is unhappy with his leadership. Anyone else he may want gone, may take some convincing, and at this point, I think it’s safe to say that none of us has the slightest idea who that may be.
@nanny – I feel for you…What you are battling can be very dangerous. Take care of yourself and I hope you feel much better soon.
@anet40 #49 – Interesting comment…I think this is the first time someone has suggested that a castaway is paid to participate for the sake of ratings. Well, this is what I think. While it is certainly possible, I don’t think this is the case. We know that production and effective editing can slant the perception of viewers, but it is not necessary to hire actors in order to show various personalities, particularly those that we tend to dislike. Unfortunately, this world is full of BRussells.
@June – I’m really happy that you and your family were not physically harmed, and I hope you continue to be safe in what sounds like a challenging environment. I admire your positive spirit in a negative situation.

Hey all, Had to go to E-mails.
June- I have to share my B&E story. I had a crackhead neighbor. He broke in while I was at visitation for my mom’s funeral. He stole my rolled up change and my new suit I had bought and had altered for the funeral.I had to scramble and get a suit the day of the funeral. The guy that broke in had got a speeding ticket earlier in the day and his copy of the ticket fell out of his pocket on my living room floor. The cops let me be there when they busted him. He came to my work place years later and when he saw me he just turned and walked out the door without a word.

I thought that everything was so top secret and all. I have a derringer (sic), but I need to get it checked so that if anyone did try to break in the house, I wouldn’t just shoot myself in the foot. I think the reason that there are so many break-ins, is because people are in such dire straits with this economy and all and are just reaching the point of desperation.

Summer, u know i luv ya but I have to disagree with you about the break ins. It seems to me that a lot of break ins occur because people need money for drugs. I volunteer at a private womens drug rehab and many of them have been in trouble with the law because they were caught stealing and stuff just to get drugs. I do agree with you that the struggling economy has only made things worse.

This has been the case in the past. Not impossible, but what are the chances of finding two trees in opposite camps with the same hiding place? Personally, I hope it turns out to be true, and they find it…This game needs some shock factor, especially at Galu’s camp.

Great episode of AR last night. My favs are the trotters, Megan & Cheyne(Shane),team zebra and pinky and the Brain. Still cant stand the poker players.

OK Here are my spoilers for the week. This is from another site so if it is incorrect it is not my fault.
There are two competitions this week:
The reward challenge involves throwing coconuts, possibly to break tiles like last season. Galu wins the challenge and are awarded a chicken. The chicken gets away.(The preview shot of Eric getting clothes-lined is of him chasing the bird that flew the coop)
The immunity challenge has four Galu members sitting it out. The competition involves crossing a rope bridge, climbing across a course of nets suspended in the air, and collecting blocks.The competition is close but who actually won is not clear. My source thinks that Foa Foa wins their first immunity competition. If that is the case my pick would be for Shambo to go.

Girl get out of that engagement and run..My favs are the ‘globetrotters and Zev and Justin.The Season All-stars were lucky to finish before the storms. Is Probst and co. going to help Samoa ??
