We’re back tonight with plenty of drama on Survivor when one of the castaways has a medical emergency that impacts the game. Of course things aren’t exactly easy going for the other players easy as a major storm hits the tribes and drives down the optimism. Let’s find out what happens with this possible medical evacuation and see if it puts the two tribes back on the level or if the Favorites can break away with the numbers.
Wasting no time we’re ready for tonight’s Survivor 2013 reward challenge. It’s the challenge we saw earlier and is even harder on the tribes than we saw with the Dream Teams.
Bikal puts Brenda and Andrea on their platforms while Gota uses Laura and Julia on theirs. Laura is really holding up Gota as Bikal gets a solid lead at the second platform. It gets to be neck and neck as both teams are struggling to get all players on as the Favorites finally pull it together. But for good measure we hear Shamar celebrate the loss as a win before Bikal corrects him. Bikal gets the local expert on surviving off the land as a reward.
Bikal’s reward is awesome. Their local guide arrives and is described by the team as their own Gollum. He’s quirky but a great cook and even helps with the shelter. It’s hilarious watching all the ladies take turns dancing with him. That was a great challenge reward.
Now for the Survivor 2013 drama featuring, surprise, Shamar. For weeks we’ve seen a crumbling quitter developing in Shamar and he finally gets his wish when the medical team comes to visit. They identify a few potential scratches around his pupil possibly due to sand.
Sure enough, Shamar is taken out of the game and that puts Gota down another castaway. On to the next challenge. Survivor 2013 Immunity is up for grabs.
The castaways must swim out to a platform, retrieve a key, and bring it back. Once they have five keys the other two players will try to knock down blocks on a ledge. First team to finish the task will win immunity this week.
The Fans are off to a slow start in the challenge as Sherri flops on her attempt at getting the first key which lets the Favorites nearly lap them. The Favorites are working on their locks while the Fans are still trying to collect their keys. This will be hard to recover and catch up.
Phillip and Cochran are in charge of throwing at the blocks but it looks like Phillip takes all the throws. Probably not a bad idea. Reynold is starting to catch up but Phillip has a solid lead for Bikal. It’s getting close when Phillip seals the deal and brings home immunity. The Fans are heading back to Tribal Council where one of them will be voted off Survivor tonight.
At Tribal Council the debate comes down to what the castaways are going to prioritize for Gota: winning or losing. Jeff tallies the votes and reveals the results. Wait! Before the votes are read Reynold plays his hidden immunity idol so votes against him will not count. Turns out it wasn’t worth it because after four votes Laura is voted off Survivor 2013.
Did the Gota tribe make the right choice? Can they recover and come back against the dominating Bikal tribe of Favorites?
