Survivor Caramoan – Fans Vs Favorites: Preview and Details

Survivor Caramoan

Survivor Caramoan arrives in February 2013 and just like past seasons we already know lots of details of what to expect and who to expect thanks to early Survivor Caramoan spoilers. Last week we shared the list of “Favorites” returning to the Philippines setting for Survivor Season 26 and now we’ve got the official preview from CBS and some thoughts from Jeff Probst.

Watch the Survivor 2013 Caramoan preview:

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Survivor host Jeff Probst promised this season to be better than ever. Well, at least better than last season which I still thought was pretty good. Also of note, the returning players will have not played more than once, but we already knew that.

“We have a lot of great [former contestants] who we have not yet anointed as a star or worthy of being in an all-star version of some sort,” Probst told EW, indicating that all the returning players would be playing for the second time, as opposed to the third or fourth. “And we started looking at that list and said, we actually have a new batch of people that would be fun to put against a group of newbies. And the result was fantastic. It really worked. It will be a season that most fans will regard even better than Survivor: Philippines.”

And what about the weather conditions? After Survivor Philippines castaways enduring weeks straight of rain the Caramoan crew caught a break.

There will be less rain next time around since Philippines was filmed at the tail end of the rainy season, leading to those 21 consecutive days of downpours. An upside of the sunnier skies will be even more water challenges in Survivor: Caramoan — Fans vs. Favorites 2. (Some water challenges in Philippines had to be scrapped and replaced due to the inclement weather.) “We were in the water a fair amount for Philippines, but we’re in the water even more in Fans Vs. Favorites,” says Probst.

I thought Philippines was a pretty great season so if Jeff likes Caramoan even more then that sounds great to me. Get ready for Survivor 2013 to premiere in February!
