October 1st, 2009 at 8:40 pm
I don’t want Ashley to leave. I hope they vote out Ben.
October 1st, 2009 at 8:41 pm
blackgirl, at least you got to see a little more of Eric.
October 1st, 2009 at 8:43 pm
Seriously ? Can BRussels head get any bigger, Wow he’s nerve-racking ~
October 1st, 2009 at 8:44 pm
My opinion of Shambo has changed. She has helped Foa Foa. I think they should let her change tribes.
October 1st, 2009 at 8:47 pm
A.J., he does have a big head but he is playing the game. like him or hate him, I think he is a good player.
October 1st, 2009 at 8:48 pm
Grrr Ben has to go !
October 1st, 2009 at 8:50 pm
I like Jaison. He is so well spoken and level headed. He will make a good lawyer.
October 1st, 2009 at 8:50 pm
@ Ashley, that is true an I agree he is playing, it’s the gloating that gets to me….
October 1st, 2009 at 8:52 pm
A.J., I do not like the arrogance either. I hope they vote out Ben.
October 1st, 2009 at 8:54 pm
Oh thank goodness, Ashley was saved !!!!
October 1st, 2009 at 8:54 pm
GOODBYE JERK
October 1st, 2009 at 8:54 pm
Yes! Bye Bye Ben! Jeff, you were absolutely correct today!
October 1st, 2009 at 8:54 pm
I’ve been a Survivor fan since day one. However, I find it annoying and tedious that the focus of this edition is about bad old Russell. We hardly know the other players.
October 1st, 2009 at 8:55 pm
I agree Carol. I don’t know anything about the other tribe except Shambo and Yasmine because they were at Foa Foa as a guest.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:04 pm
I don’t like having both the reward and immunity challenge combined every week…At this rate, Galu will have to lose a challenge before we can get better acquainted with them.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:04 pm
Ashley, yeah I got to see a little of Erik, what happen to his eye?
I love Shambo, she went to Foa Foa and did her thing unlike blabber mouth Yasmin last week.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:06 pm
I am very proud of Jaison for telling Ben off. He is an a##hole and deserve to get the boot.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:09 pm
No big surprise about Ben, but a lot of the things he said about Yasmin were right on. She is a know it all. Opinion of Shambo has gone way off the charts. She should show Yasmin how to get along with the other tribe, instead of ridiculing them. Hey, looks like there is going to be a power struggle between Brussell and Jaison. I like Jaison a lot, but he needs to be careful, because I don’t think Brussell will allow anybody to push him around. If that team doesn’t start pulling together, there will be an early merger. My favorite is still Grussell, and I liked his speech about taking care of the women, but I don’t think that it set too well with the men on the team. Anyway, good job Shambo. Your stock with me has gone up. Kind of looks like Mick is making a move at being the team leader, but Brussell is not going to let him become too powerful. I do like Mick a lot. He seems to be a real gentleman, and don’t get me wrong, I don’t like Brussell, but he does know how to play the game.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:09 pm
Bye, bye Ben. He made a lot of enemies in Foa Foa with his loud mouth and negative comments.
Jaison played it well; BRussell had to throw Ben under the bus. But, Jaison better watch his back, as the Worminator will be gunning for him. Sweet that the only vote for Ashley was Ben.
Shambo played it smart by trying to make friends at Foa Foa. If she makes it to the merge, she has layed the groundwork for a smooth transition. Not sure about putting down her own tribe, about yoga and such. She might have done better keeping her mouth shut on that one.
BRussell-Worminator is still the focus of the show; just hope his arrogance and sneaky shady deals get exposed. Now at least two of his tribe know he has an immunity idol, so it might be hard to boot him, at least for a while.
GRussell should have gone for the camping gear instead of the comfort -pillows, two mats & a few towels. It lookled like there was a tarp, lantern(?), some fishing gear? If/when it rains, they may wish he chose differently.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:09 pm
I am starting to like Brussell even more because he is a good player, he realised that everyone is against Ben therefore he went with the group so that they continue to trust him.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:10 pm
Oh so happy Ben is gone. It is disappointing during the challenge when I see the other team I have no idea who they are because everything is focused on Napeleon Eric.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:14 pm
Q, you are absolutely right. All of that comfort stuff isn’t going to be worth anything after it gets wet. It will just smell up the camp, but I think Grussell was thinking of other people, and not himself. Yes, Blackgirl, it was a smart move for Brussell to go along with the group. Everybody might hate the guy, but he playing this game, very, very well.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:14 pm
I agree that Grussell made the wrong decision, he should have choose the tarp. Erik and the other guys at Galu were not happy about that at all so Grussell better watch out.
Can someone tell me how Erik got a black eye”?
October 1st, 2009 at 9:17 pm
I think Shambo and Erik will team up next week, to look for the Idol.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:19 pm
I don’t know why my post didn’t go through, so I will try again. Blackgirl, you do notice everything, cause I didn’t even see the black eye. Was probably looking at other parts of his physique. It was probably accidential, cause I don’t think that he would be getting punched by anyone. The challenges look like they have been very physical.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:21 pm
Summer where is your boyfriend Jeff tonight. I think he might be cheating on you.LOL
October 1st, 2009 at 9:27 pm
@blackgirl- I hate to agree with you on this one but Brussell made his best move of the game by listening to Jaison. He gained the trust of his tribe by dropping his plan to vote off Ashley and guiding his alliance to vote off Ben.
Shambo is in good shape if (BIG IF!)she makes it to the merge. She handled her visit like a pro. Her visit to Foo Foo was completely the opposite of Yasmin’s-the right way vs.the wrong way. Yasmin did however give Ben the rope to hang himself but she didn’t have a clue that she was doing it.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:35 pm
Monica was happy with Grussells choice and if Monica is happy. I am happy.
October 1st, 2009 at 9:38 pm
Jeff, I agree BRuss made a good decision and strategic move by listening to Jaison. Now everyone trusts him even more then they did.
I think Yasmin is in good shape with her tribe. They didn’t see her actions at Foa Foa so they don’t know how she is.
October 1st, 2009 at 10:02 pm
While I agree that Ben is an a@@, I’m on the fence about the timing of his departure. I like Jaison, but I think it is a mistake to make decisions on a personal level vs. a strategic level. Instead of advancing himself in the game, the playing field is now even on a tribe that has proven to be weaker and he’s the catalyst to the possible demise of the stronger players on his team. Mick and Russell made valid points re the ladies being put in a better position to pick them off one by one. IMO, the fact that Yasmin is a woman who used less offensive verbiage does not lessen her level of responsibility for the confrontation and acting like a B@#*@…She started it and Ben was not accommodating. So What! They were equally obnoxious, and none of it had anything to do with Jaison. This is not a game of chivalry…it’s Survivor.
Re BRussel…he is still playing a smart game. We see the obnoxious side of him, but he, unlike Ben, never lets his tribe see that side of him. I predict that he will be around for awhile and will probably make the merge.
October 1st, 2009 at 10:51 pm
I’am glad ben is gone–he was to full of himself–I ‘am liking shambo–i liked how she handled herself with the other tribe. I’am glad Jaison stood up to ben–and hes right no amount of money is worth putting up with that crap. I’am glad the rest of the tribe saw that too. And how about them all getting new swim suits taht was cool –never seen them do that before.
October 2nd, 2009 at 2:02 am
Foa Foa Russel has shown that he can be persuaded with the right argument. He realized that Ben was getting out of control by speaking before thinking. He may had been right about Yasmin, but that gave him no right to use the insulting tone he opted for. Whatever happened to being a gentleman? Jaison argued good points with him, and did not use degrading words. Ben thought he was safe and continued to use insulting words, but when the votes were read, he glanced at Russel like saying what’s going on here? Great!.
October 2nd, 2009 at 2:46 am
Lav- I couldn’t agree more. The fact that Ben thought he was invincible and was still talking like he was the big dog (I think he learned that from BRussell) during tribal council made him getting evicted unanimously a sweet thing to watch. He was totally shocked. The only thing that would have made for better TV would have been for Jeff P. to have tripped him from behind as he walked away after being evicted.
October 2nd, 2009 at 3:05 am
Thumma-Thinth you wooden tay my thwisty ta wing. Ah haa pisted ma tung an am wearwieen de wing inith to thow ma lub po yoo.
October 2nd, 2009 at 3:57 am
Fedup- I knew it was just a matter of time but I disagree with you. I agree that the timing of Ben leaving was bad. It should have been last week. Ben was a pitiful piece of crap. He contributed nothing in the competitions, even costing them the one last week. He contributed nothing socially and was lazy. He was actually a detriment to their tribe by keeping them awake at night and belittling them. He had a much bigger opinion of himself than anyone else did, reflected by his exit statement that they would not be able to function without him. A real man would walk away when Yasmine became confrontational with him. A simple I’m sorry, I was in the heat of battle,I thought you were a man, anything… would have been better, whether sincere or not, than calling her ghetto trash.
I agree that Jaison is no Denzel Washington and I would not want him as a lawyer defending me. However by defending the women he is building himself up in their eyes and can align himself with them. He will then be safe over Brussell and Mick. By being chivalrous maybe he is outwitting the other males and looking like less of a threat to the women.
If Foo Foo doesn’t win something soon it won’t matter because Galu will pick them off one by one after the merge, which will be in three weeks if they don’t win.
October 2nd, 2009 at 4:34 am
Susan- I really love the new threads also, especially the bikinis. I guess they tore their clothing up during Schmergenbrawl last week. I read that it was a game made up by the film crew to kill time when they weren’t shooting and adapted it into a challenge.
I like both of you.
Sparkle- You are so funny after a couple of cold ones. Are you the same Sparkle that is first to post a lot of times in the morning.
Cat-We miss you!
Ashley- I heard Tebow is not playing against LSU because of his concussion he got last week. ROLL TIDE!!!
October 2nd, 2009 at 6:07 am
why did they make brussell sit out of the comp.
October 2nd, 2009 at 8:38 am
Jeff – ok, I guess you don’t want to talk with me anymore. MIss your comments, but I have been so sick that I haven’t noticed until now that you are ignoring me. Shame on you, considering how I was begining to agree with you on lots of stuff. Where is Cat and when is she coming back? Still would like to know about X-rev; both Dianas and Midwest Fan.
October 2nd, 2009 at 8:54 am
After last nights episode I have concluded that we will not get to know Galu unil the merge. Survivor is too focus on the drama tribe Foa Foa. I am starting to not like Foa Foa, maybe I am bias because my fav is on Galu.
@Jeff # 41. Huh
@June where are you girl, worm watching
October 2nd, 2009 at 9:10 am
!!!Good Morning Jeff!!! Got a minute or two or three…lol! Here goes my response to #42…
I’ve said more than once that I do not condone Ben’s choice of words, and I don’t care if you are a man or a woman, I’m not open to an insincere and empty apology…Save it…That’s patronizing and worse than no apology at all. A male is not less of a man if he stands up to a woman, and if he chooses to do so, his character is more defined by the manner in which he processes and handles the situation. If they’re lucky, they both may learn something. Yasmin approached Ben because, according to her, he attacked her like a “dude”, and although he didn’t outright apologize, he immediately and calmy said what you suggested…I believe his exact words were, “Well, that’s just the way the game is played. It wasn’t anything personal. You were going after one of my teammates and…(she interrupted)…do you understand…” She interrupted again, was 1st to frown up, became frustrated with her football analogy, and was the 1st to raise her voice while stating, “I understand, but you’re not giving me any sympathy…” They talked over one another and the convo escalated, resulting in him 1st calling her “grammar school” and followed by her calling him “ignorant”…All of which occurred after Jaison, albeit to the cameras, said, “Screw you” when he spoke of her. I wouldn’t care for the company of either one of them. The bottom line is that Yasmin doesn’t need sympathy, she needs to develop her communication skills, and Ben needs diversity training.
Since we are not privy to an abundance of Galu scenes, my comments are purely based on what we are shown on TV, and from where I sit, Jaison is more upset than Yasmin. The point I was making is that women are perfectly capable of standing up for themselves, and when WE decide to participate in a game like Survivor, we must keep in mind that it is bound to become both physically and mentally challenging. Respectful treatment doesn’t have a gender. I read between the lines of Jaison’s statements, particularly his use of the word historically, and personal knowledge tells me that what occurred last night between Jaison and Ben was less about building an alliance with the women and the actual Y/B conflict and more about his personal demons/ experiences and a broader scope of bigotry…I just wish he hadn’t allowed Ben’s actions to get into his head, thus enabling personal feelings to drive his decisions. Sadly this occurs daily in the real world, and ALL THREE should have risen above it. Sticks and stones…Call me what you want…I’ll flash you a smile
because, I know exactly who I am.
Smooches!!
October 2nd, 2009 at 9:16 am
@Jeff – And another thing…just kidding
I have a blog for today, but after posting that response, I’m tired of myself…lol!
October 2nd, 2009 at 9:37 am
Jeff, yes I am the same one and only Sparkle, yes my posts last night was after a couple of cold ones….lol..thank you for all the posts and nice comments. I live in Florida get up at 5am so a lot of times I check the site and post from my phone or from work.
October 2nd, 2009 at 10:25 am
Jeff 41. Whatchoo talkin bout man?
October 2nd, 2009 at 10:28 am
47 Fedup. YOu sound fedup. LOL. Agree with you on almost everything – ALMOST.
October 2nd, 2009 at 10:59 am
Very glad Russell has new pants also, but I think I saw butt crack lol. Nevertheless he is playing a good game even though he is jacka$$. Iv’e now added him to my fantacy game..(OH BOY)
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:17 am
I wish Russell would stop showing immunity idol to everyone!! i think that’s going to get him voted off and he’ll be blindsided so he won’t use it as done in the past.
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:17 am
This is the first season where I have really disliked someone. Russell’s attitude just makes me ill.
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:20 am
Has he only showed it to Mick and Jaison? Or has he showed it to anyone else. You know I had to laugh last night when I was watching Shambo look up all the trees and everyone just standing around not even pay attention. I was laughing I missed a couple of things.
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:20 am
Well am glad Russell is still on there cause he is playing the game and even though he doesnt need the money he loves to play the game i think and Yes Shambo was kissing A$$ LOL!!
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:22 am
I wonder who Russell will team up with now cause i think every one is catching on to him.
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:22 am
We call you “Mick Dreamy” they should call him “Mick doesn’t have a clue” why would he put stupid Ben into a competition when BRussell is stronger.
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:29 am
Yes Chrgergrl it was very refreshing to see something besides the boxer briefs they were getting a little icky, well who are we kidding that whole package is a lot icky, but hes got game.
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:38 am
If shambo kisses a$$ and brussell is an a$$ isnt that a showmance?
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:51 am
Yes he has only showed the idol to those two but it feels like he’s eager to show everyone. and I love it how he’s playing too. it’s different which makes it interesting.
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:51 am
60 Nanny. It sure is.
October 2nd, 2009 at 12:30 pm
Summer:
I dislike Ben’s approach to the situation, but you are right, Yazmin had a terrible attitude proclaiming that she knew what was wrong with the tribe and she (the know it all) would tell them how to fix it. Yazmin’s behavior was the perfect sample of what not to do when you are visiting the opposite tribe, on the other hand Shambo showed us the right approach to this situation. Did you realize that instead of ridiculing them, she congratulated Liz and called her a top notched competitor young girl, she mentioned to Mick that they called him McDreamy, even to Ben, she complimented his eyes.
October 2nd, 2009 at 12:33 pm
Ashley:
I am with you girl. I would had liked it if they would have change tribes. Could you imagine Yasmin and Ben together? I also like Jaison he is now, together with Mick, my favorite player from Foa Foa.
How are the puppies behaving? Did the schedules make any sense to you?
Fedup:
I dislike the combination of the challengers; there will be less opportunities to see Galu losing and to get to know the tribe members
October 2nd, 2009 at 12:47 pm
L.A. YOu are cool, but what else could you be from LA. Lakers used to be my favorite, until they become so full of themselves, and when they let Shaq go, but I digress. Hey, Matt, our buddy and pal. Would you be willing to set up a blog for “The Amazing Race.” ? We get a little bored between the Survivor Weekly Series, and need something to occupy our minds. Whatcha think?
October 2nd, 2009 at 12:50 pm
Hey, Ashley? HOw are the twins doing? Is anything working for you? For some reason, Barney has decided to pee on the floor a couple of times this week? What the heck is going on with him? Anyway, I told him he was bad, and he hid behind the furniture for 3 hours, but when he finally came out,I told him that I loved him. He is so sensitive, I can’t believe it. Anyway, tell those little ones, that a book is coming, and Barney loves them.
October 2nd, 2009 at 1:19 pm
Nanny #60 – love your sense of humor…
Summer #51 – That’s the affect caffeine has on me
October 2nd, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Summer: I am sorry to disappoint you. I live in IL, L. A. are mi name inicials.
Sorry, you may think than I am not cool anymore
October 2nd, 2009 at 1:58 pm
Summer:
We may have never had Shaq, but we have had the best of the best MIKE JORDAN.
October 2nd, 2009 at 3:08 pm
Summer # 65 good idia i would love to have the Amazing Race blog too.
October 2nd, 2009 at 3:17 pm
JEFF, thanks for the words. Now, about #47’s explanation excusing Ben’s behavior, I feel that the tone of voice doesn’t mean that a person is not disrespecting. Yasmin provably thought that Ben’s initial response did not sound like he regretted his actions, on the contrary, it sounded like saying: if you go after my teammates I’ll drop you again. It seems to me that in the real world, he is a bully with females, because he knows that women are not going to beat him up. By the way, I don’t agree with Yasmin, either.
October 2nd, 2009 at 4:01 pm
i think they need to get RUSSEL out of there he is bad news, and also why are they only doing 1 game every show
October 2nd, 2009 at 4:38 pm
Every one: I think there is a confirmation about BRussell appearing in Survivor 20. BRussells brother had an interview by Andy Dehnart on September 29.
October 2nd, 2009 at 4:44 pm
I do not like shambo the ‘fish-slayer’ LOL. Matt, Please do a Amazing race blog!!Michael Jordan will FOREWVER rock.I was born in chgo, but now live in Ohio. Cubs,
What is up with ’shambo’?? Please let her and yazmin be the 1st in Galu to go..I was born in Chgo, so Michael
jordan will always rein King. I also stayed with the Cubs and Bears. But last few yrs I lived in Ohio, so i root for OSU and the CAVS…Go Shaq,LeBron and all the team!!
October 2nd, 2009 at 5:00 pm
Lav- I agree with you again. Ben wouldn’t last long around my parts with his attitude and degrading words. Sometimes the best way to handle a confrontation is to walk away. The fact that he was unanimously voted out last night proves that point quite well.I didn’t like the way Yasmine handled that whole thing either. Ben was propably right about his assessment of her but I can not condone his racial and hate filled comments about her.
L.A.-No Olympics!! It is propably better for you in the long run. Yasmine and Ben on the same tribe- That would be fun to watch.
Summer- I haven’t been avoiding you. We just seem to be on different blogging schedules. We just need some alone time I guess.
Sparkle- BRussel is propably not a good swimmer. I bet when they saw that water was involved he volunteered to sit out. He couldn’t let his tribemates see him walk on water and didn’t want to look weak swimming.
October 2nd, 2009 at 5:04 pm
Jeff:
Thank God about the olimpics.
You are totally right about Ben & Jaison (my new hero). Ben should have been gone last week, they lost because of his lack of fair play, and like Jaison said he was a MENTAL PLAGUE, I loved how Brussell’s plan to evict Ashley failed, he thought that he was the king and his wishes were their commands. He said that he was running the show, that he was the boss and to get Ashley would be very simple he would use his “brussell’s seeds”. Besides, he wanted to keep Ben because he thought he was the least strong of the men and he liked using him as a “charged weapon” to create disagreements among the tribe. He charged Ben to hit Ashley but Jaison stood in his way like Superman (Jaison stop the bullets that Brussell triggered towards Ashley). His zombie Ben got burned.
I hoped that Jaison forms an alliance with Mick because he said he was a trustworthy guy and was loyal to Jaison.
October 2nd, 2009 at 5:07 pm
Mamad:
Yes, we are honored about Mike.
October 2nd, 2009 at 5:13 pm
Mama d- I love the Cubs. Their games have been shown here for years. Harry Carray was the best announcer ever. I am more of a Braves fan. I saw Hank Aaron hit a home run when I was young. I am real sad that they missed the post season this year.
October 2nd, 2009 at 5:21 pm
Mama d. & Jeff:
My husban is a cub fan and feel so bad for him every year he puts his hopes too high for his team, and ofcourse the fall is pretty bad.
October 2nd, 2009 at 5:32 pm
Lav,
Exactly where did I say that Ben’s behavior was excusable? Stating that I do not condone his choice of words was in direct response to Jeff’s reference to the ghetto trash comment. In #42, he suggested and I quote, “A simple I’m sorry, I was in the heat of battle, I thought you were a man, ANYTHING… would have been better, whether SINCERE OR NOT…”, which is why I reiterated the convo. He basically said those things, and based on Yasmin’s reaction, it would not have affected the outcome.
Tone of voice is a form of verbal communication, and you’re right, “the tone of voice doesn’t mean that a person is not disrespecting”. Talking to someone softly, yet in a condescending manner may be viewed as disrespectful, and raising your voice at someone is more times than not.
October 2nd, 2009 at 5:35 pm
Been working in the field this week so just now getting back to a computer. Still wanting to see more of the Galu camp and separate reward/immunity challenges, but still entertained mainly cause of BRussell. I think his sticking with Jaison and voting out Ben was smart to keep his trust up with Mick & Jaison. Also, Ben is an idiot becasue he was given multiple opportunities to apologize for his actions and never did at all. Glad he is gone. Anyway, hoping to see a tribe swap pretty soon to mix things up and to get to see some more of the survivors.
October 2nd, 2009 at 5:41 pm
Fedup #80:
What is convo? Sorry, I am just starting to learn the texting language.
October 2nd, 2009 at 5:59 pm
L.A. – I apologize…convo is my short version of conversation. Don’t use it in text, becasue I’m not sure if that’s universal
October 2nd, 2009 at 6:10 pm
Fedup: Thank you. Just learning.
October 2nd, 2009 at 6:20 pm
Fedup #80, Jeff#42, and Lav #71:
In Mexico we have a saying “It takes two to tango”
Ben and Yasmin, both, wanted to tango.
October 2nd, 2009 at 6:34 pm
L.A. #85 – Thank you!!! I knew I wasn’t crazy…OK, I am, but that’s beside the point. Basically, that’s what I’ve been saying and I should have just said that. L.A. will you respond for me from now on?
October 2nd, 2009 at 6:41 pm
I also wanted to point out that “Respectful treatment doesn’t have a gender.”, meaning that we should expect respectful behavior from men, women, and ALL human beings period.
OK, L.A. pls feel free to speak for me…You are direct and straight to the point!!
October 2nd, 2009 at 9:54 pm
L.A. You are still cool. And you are right, Michael Jordan was one of the greatest, if not the greatest. There were two other guys from your area that weren’t too bad either – Magic Johnson from Michigan and Larry Bird from Indiana.
October 2nd, 2009 at 10:34 pm
I think that neither Jeff, nor I, were at any time defending Yasmin’s insanity. But, it seems to me, that by pointing out Yasmin’s loudness and her bad, bad, attitude as a determining factor for Ben’s reaction to the argument is justifying him. And, fedup, men have a right to defend themselves against women, and the elderly, and the weakest, and so on. In Ben’s case, what I’m saying is that he crossed the line when he said the guetto remark, and the bad grammar one. He could have been louder and better in his use of the English language, and it would have been better. It got ugly because of the racial remarks. It may be the way he sees the world, maybe he thinks he is above women.
