With the new season of Survivor 2010 Nicaragua only a few days away, I thought it was about time to get on with our tradition of dealing out the spoilers for the premier episode.
CBS Press Release:
A POWERFUL NEW GAME-CHANGING ELEMENT IS INTRODUCED INTO THE COMPETITION AND STANDS TO GIVE ONE TRIBE THE UPPER HAND BEFORE THE GAME IS EVEN UNDERWAY, ON THE SEASON PREMIERE OF “SURVIVOR 2010: NICARAGUA,” WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 15
“Survivor” Returns to the Night That Launched the Series When SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA, Hosted by Emmy Award-Winner Jeff Probst, Moves to Wednesday Nights
“Young at Heart” – The castaways are shocked to learn that they’ll be divided into tribes of older players versus younger players. The older tribe is especially surprised to learn that they’ll be teamed with former NFL Coach Jimmy Johnson. Meanwhile, one castaway reveals a personal secret that could affect the entire tribe as they head into their first challenge, on the season premiere of SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA, Wednesday, Sept. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
The first challenge of the season is to play for the new medallion of power which gives the team who wins it an advantage during a challenge. They don’t have to use it and can opt to keep it until the next competition but if they do use it, it goes to the opposing team. As if immunity idols weren’t enough in the game of Survivor, now we get this, Hmmmm. For this “reward” challenge, the teams are already divided into two groups but NOT the old vs. young and they play for the MOP this way. Brenda Lowe’s team wins and she has taken possession of the new power. After this they are divided into old vs. young with Brenda keeping the MOP but when Jeff pulls out flint, the La Flora tribe decide to pass on the MOP in favor of fire making ability.
The first immunity challenge of the season looks to be divided into parts. One member of each team, Holly for Espada and Na Onka for La Flor, will pour paint down gutter/slides being held together by men from each team. While the paint is going down the slide, puzzle pieces are released where the remaining players are waiting to assemble. I’m assuming the tribe who puts their puzzle together first wins immunity and for this particular comp that tribe is La Flor.
According to missyae, our first boot of the Survivor 2010 season will be Wendy Jo. Check back for any new info that may come available between now and Wednesday. Survivor fans, are you ready for Nicaragua?
