Survivor 2022: Who Was Voted Off Survivor 43 Last Night? – Week 1

Wednesday night we kicked off an all-new season of Survivor with a two-hour season premiere. During that premiere, we saw the castaways compete in their first Reward Challenge, have a shot at the first advantage of the game, and compete in their first Immunity Challenge of Survivor 43. We also got to watch as one castaway was voted off of Survivor 2022 during the first Tribal Council of the season.

In the first Reward Challenge, the castaways competed for basic camp supplies such as flint, a machete, and a pot. There was no food handed out, so the castaways lived off of whatever food they could find around their camps. By about halfway through the episode, all three tribes had these basic necessities.

Before the Immunity Challenge took place, a boat showed up at all three beaches and the tribes had to choose one person to get on the boat. Gabler, Karla, and Dwight all went on a journey to an island where they met each other and then were faced with a choice. To risk their vote for a shot at an advantage or not risk their vote and ensure they had it if their tribe was the one to go to Tribal Council they would have their vote intact. Karla decided not to risk her vote, but Gabler and Dwight did.

When they got back to camp, Dwight discovered that he risked his vote and lost which meant that Gabler got the advantage. The advantage was an Immunity Idol which would keep him safe at the first two Tribal Councils.

The three tribes then competed in the first Immunity Challenge which was an obstacle course with a table game at the end. Vesi and Coco were able to secure their safety which sent Baka to the first Tribal Council. Even though he had the Immunity Idol in his pocket from his trip to the island, Gabler chose not to play it because his tribemates let him know they had no intentions of voting him out. Instead, by a vote of 5-1, Morriah Young was voted off the island.
