CBS announced today that Survivor 2010 in Nicaragua will be moved from Thursday at 8E/7C to Wednesdays at 8E/7C. “We believe television’s #1 network just got stronger,” said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment. “New series will be launched behind proven hits and key scheduling moves will help grow nights.”
Survivor will lead off Wednesday followed by the hit series Criminal Minds and a new series The Defenders starring Jim Belushi and Jerry O’Connell. It will face off against ABC’s The Middle, FOX’s drama Lie To Me and NBC’s new drama Undercovers. Of a more significant note, if this move is still in place for the Spring of 2011, Survivor will face off against the American Idol results show.
This move returns Survivor to its original time slot from its first season after which it was moved to Thursdays to run against NBC hit comedy Friends.
