We saw one big happy family in last night’s Survivor 2017 episode when all three tribes came together in the Merge, headed off to celebrate, faced a fun (for us) Immunity Challenge, and then someone was voted off this week. Read on for our recap of last night’s episode of Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers!
Drop your Buffs! The new tribe color is purple and they’ll be called Solewa after the three tribe names combined. So clever, those starved castaways. Speaking of starving, they won’t be for long, at least not today.
Jeff is teasing the castaways that they won’t get a big Survivor feast and their heart drops. Then he reveals it’ll instead be a feast from Outback. They’re so excited and head off leaving a complex challenge behind untouched.
This week’s Immunity Challenge is “Will It Go Round?” and I’m ready to see how hard this is because it looks tough from the preview. Castaways will have to use centrifugal force to keep their billiard ball spinning around a circular tube with the ball inside. If the ball drops out then they’re done. And remember, this is the first individual immunity of the season so there’s no team protection here except for when we get to voting blocs.
First out? That honor goes to Ryan who nearly immediately drops his ball out of the ring. Everyone else survives to the first step forward on to the beam… and there goes Mike just after his first step down the plank. Next is Jessica leaving nine behind in the comp.
They’re down to the smallest section when Ben then JP then Devon and then Lauren. Lots of quick drops here. There goes Joe! He was a big target in the talk so the pressure was on for him. Cole is still there and another big topic of discussion back at camp.
The last two are Desi and Ashley after Cole then Chrissy fell. This was all just 10 mins in to the challenge after what seemed like it must have been an hour with the editing. One of these two ladies will win the first Individual Immunity Challenge of the season. These two are earning it after nearly fifty minutes! And there goes Ashley.
Desi wins Individual Immunity!
Grab some fire for your torch. Votes are getting ready and Jeff will have to snuff one player’s game tonight.
Before Jeff can read the results Joe decides to play his Hidden Idol on his own behalf.
Jeff reveals the votes: Chrissy, Jessica, Chrissy, Jessica, Chrissy, Jessica, Chrissy, Jessica, Chrissy, Jessica, Jessica, Jessica
Jessica Johnston was voted off Survivor!
