Kelly Wiglesworth is perhaps the most glowing representation on the season 30 cast of what Survivor Second Chance is all about. She was there when it all started on the very first go around, played like a fiend, and lost out by online one vote in the first Survivor finale ever. Now she is back, 15 years later, for a second chance at winning it all.

Survivor 2015 host Jeff Probst told MTV that Kelly really “represents the idea behind this season” of second chances for former veteran players to play the game again. “What if she had gotten one more vote? What would have happened to Survivor, and what would have happens to her life?” We can’t help but wonder the same thing, and be eager to see Kelly have the opportunity to possibly win it all this time.

For Survivor Cambodia Second Chance, Kelly Wiglesworth will be part of the Ta Keo (green) tribe, along with Jeff Varner, Kelley Wentworth, Abi-Maria Gomes, Peih-Gee Law, Shirin Oskooi, Spencer Bledsoe, Terry Deitz, Vytas Baskauskas, and Woo Hwang. (Full Survivor Second Chance cast list.)

Out in the real world, Kelly Wiglesworth teaches yoga and “lives on the beach in Mexico” with her husband. On her website, Kelly claims that she firsts started practicing yoga by practicing exercises from magazine clippings while she was competing on the original season of Survivor. She credits her yoga and meditation with helping her make it the entire 39 days of the original season.

Survivor season one winner Richard Hatch, however, has famously accused Kelly of being part of a cheating conspiracy on the show. He claims that he “caught” Kelly being fed by production and that she and fellow competitor Sue Hawk were “fed through the whole first season.” This, he says, is why Kelly was able to win five challenges in a row at the end of the game.

There is no doubt that Kelly was a fierce competitor 15 years ago on the first season of the show, both physically and with her social game. Kelly isn’t in it for the fame, as she’s pretty much rejected the limelight since her first turn on the show (after which the stars became rather well known celebrities). We think Kelly is in it for redemption, especially in the face of those cheating accusations, and to prove that she can win the game without any help from anyone.

Since she left the show as a disappointed runner-up, Kelly says she hasn’t really kept track of Survivor. This could be a detriment as the game has certainly changed quite a lot from when it began. Plus, she really doesn’t know much about the returning cast members, so she won’t have as much insight into what kinds of game moves they might make as other veterans might. However, she is still obviously in fighting fitness, and that may help her a great deal at winning challenges.

Kelly has quite a few regrets about her decisions on Survivor Borneo, according to an interview with Entertainment Weekly. She says if she had it all to do over again, she would not have voted Gretchen out, she would have voted Richard out, and she would have “picked a different number when Greg asked us to pick a number.”

As for what Kelly plans to do this time around on Survivor 2015 Second Chance, she has a very simple answer for that. “Win.”

We will have to wait and see if Kelly ends up making decisions she won’t regret this time season when Survivor Cambodia Second Chance debuts on September 23, 2015.
