Survivor 2014 Spoilers: Jeff Reveals Tyler Perry Idol & Premiere Twist

Survivor 2014 starts tonight on CBS with the premiere of Cagayan and its three tribes coming together. Host Jeff Probst has revealed there will be a twist “out of the gate.” But wait, there’s more!

In the video below Jeff says the action kicks off immediately with the arrival of the castaways and an immediate decision they’ll face.

“Out of the gate there’s an opening twist. Their decision is vintage Survivor. Selfish or selfless?” explains Jeff.

So could this be a situation where there’s an item to help everyone or a luxury item to help just one tribe? We’ve watched EW’s reveal of the first four minutes, but the twist isn’t spoiled there so we’ll have to wait for tonight’s show.

Now for another Survivor 2014 twist: the Tyler Perry Idol. Yes, that Tyler Perry. Jeff says Perry texted him an idea for the show and they decided to include it.

What is the Tyler Perry Idol? It’s a Get Out Of Jail Free card. Yikes, that sounds a little too powerful, but isn’t that classic Survivor to go overboard with one of these things? Next we’ll find out the Idol will let them trade places with Jeff and stuff the vote urn on finale night.

Jeff says this new special Idol won’t come in to play until later in the game once the tribes have merged. It will be a hidden Idol so there’s no guarantee it’ll be found or even played.

What do you think of these latest Survivor spoilers for the 2014 season of Cagayan? Get ready because the show starts tonight on CBS at 8PM for a two-hour premiere event!
