SURVIVOR SAMOA: **SPOILER ALERT**
Hey guys! So I am going to break down the next episode, as much as I can, and then the final episode. Can you believe there are only 2 shows left? It is kind of sad to see the season winding down.
The penultimate episode:
There is a reward challenge but not sure what the game is about but the winners are clearly Natalie, Mick and Brett as seen from the pictures below.

The trio leaves by boat and returns later in the day but what the reward is and the location is unknown to me. Can Brett work his charm on Nat and Mick for a possible Russell boot?
I have no idea what the immunity challenge will be this week but I can tell you that Brett wins. As you can barely see in the picture, Brett is in the middle on the return to camp wearing the necklace.

So with Brett winning immunity, the person to leave this week will be Shambo. I heard the producers wanted to devote an entire episode to this particular boot as I’m sure she will not go without a fight.
As far as finale night we are left with 5 contestants and all 4 foa foa’s. You would think Brett would be the next to go and obviously he would if he had not won immunity again. So Brett is safe at 5 and Jaison is the next to go after Sham. When it gets to the final four, Brett is then voted out leaving our final 3 as Mick, Natalie and Russel with Natalie as the projected winner. The rumor is that Russell does not get a single vote so it appears that for this season of Survivor that the social aspect is way more important then game play. You also have to consider that the jury members know Russell is a self made millionaire and with Mick becoming a doctor, he will also make good money so that leaves Natalie as the one who needs it the most. You never can tell what drives the jury to do what they do.
So this is it for the spoilers for this season. What do you think of Brett winning back to back immunity challenges to advance his game and why did Russell not get any votes from the jury?
Thank you missyae for all your spoiler info this season. We hope to see you back for Survivor 20.

Good post AShley. That is too bad that Russell doesn’t get any votes. I, personally don’t care who needs the money the most. That is not the reason to give someone a victory. It is the person who plays the best game and that is definately Russell. On another note, I haven’t been able to post, cause Barney has been sick. You know, it’s hard when they get sick, cause when he has an accident, he runs behind the couch like he’s done something wrong, and then I have to find a way to let him know that he hasn’t, but not let him think that it’s ok and he can have accidents in the future when he feels better.. Anyway, I will start posting again when he feels better. I really don’t think Natalie deserves the win. She has just slipped by. If Russell wasn’t to win, then I would have wanted Mick.
December 13th, 2009 at 11:26 am
well the only reason that was predicted was because he told the people on survivor 20 he didnt get a vote. you know like russell says, he will lie about every possible aspect in his life to help him advance. Russell might have won, but feels like there would be a target on his back so he lies.
December 13th, 2009 at 11:49 am
I think it is safe to assume that Natalie will win. According to the info from missyae, the order is 1. Nat 2. Mick 3. Russell.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:19 pm
Thanks for the terrific post, Ashley! Lots of food for thought there.
First of all, apparently Mick is an anaesthesiologist which is kind of ironic because he certainly puts me to sleep. It suits his personality; laidback, sitting around waiting for an awakening, so to speak. I don’t think he deserves to win.
I don’t think the win will be based strictly on monetary need. The jury will obviously take that into consideration, but how many of them will believe Russell about his millionaire status by that point, anyway? If he doesn’t get a single vote it will be because no one admires his superior gamemanship for many reasons. Among them the put-down of women (dumb girl alliance) and the deliberate attempts at sabotage. The main reason, though is I think there will be a real sense of betrayal. No real friendships have formed at all between Russell and anyone else. Even though there is always a “myself, first” urgency at the end, there is usually an undertone of admiration for the big player and a genuine sense of feeling. That is missing this season. Russell has played brilliantly but he has failed to understand the importance of real human empathy. I can well believe that no one votes for him.
Natalie has shown moments of superb strength and courage, but mostly it will be a benign win for her. She has ridden the coat tail of Russell’s whims, but she has pissed no one off and appears to be a genuinely likeable person.
I think Russell may score the extra $100,000 if they offer it. The viewing audience will cast the votes in his direction (me included). His entertainment value was superb. Just think of this season without him!
December 13th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
I agree cooper, I would cast my viewer vote for Russell. Seems like all the message board feel that way too.
December 13th, 2009 at 1:07 pm
I am not positive on the votes. The players do talk to each other and of course they all remember the reactions back at the final tribal so there is also some specualting going on. I have been told Russell would be shocked to not get Shambo and John’s votes and mildly surprised to not get Daves. I have been told that Brett and Laura were close friends before going out there and even attend the same church, fair? Anyway, you can look for them to vote together and probably Kelly and Monica too. Now will they vote for Mick because he wanted to try to get rid of Russell and discussed it or will they vote for Natalie because of her and Laura’s christian connection and of course Natalie’s just a sweet person. Maybe they dont vote for Natalie because between her and Mick, she was the one who refused to even be a part of getting rid of Russell and was aligned with him from day 1 and never veered from it? What happens with Jaison, does he leave mad at Russell or Mick for not taking him? Or does he vote for the player he said this about, “I am really starting to love that guy.” Also, it appears Erik has really been cheering for the Foas during their comeback, does he vote for the better play out of respect for the game or does the many Galu jury members change his mind? I hear 1 of the 3 people give a great speech at the final tribal and Russell is, well, just Russell. He compares the game to a boxing match. If he is Mike Tyson and he knocks you out of the game, then he is better than you and he deserves to be the champion. Will that make them bitter or will they say, he is right? All in all, a great season led by one of the most charasmatic and brilliant players ever and a pretty hot little blonde from ARKANSAS!!!!!
December 13th, 2009 at 2:30 pm
OK so after reading Ashleys blog it makes be kinda depress. Not even one vote for Russell.WTF. I guess Jaison voted for Mick and the Galus are taking the game personal so they voted against the reason for their embarassment. Honestly I don’t even want to see Laura’s face on finale night.
December 13th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
I just want to see Natalie win
December 13th, 2009 at 7:25 pm
Great job Ashley. Thanks for the updates guys.
Love ya’ll
December 13th, 2009 at 7:33 pm
Congrats Bama fans on the Heissman. Hope they go all the way. Yeah Colts and Saints, and Lions you are not only breaking my heart, (I would say busting my B–ls if I was a guy), but this week, you are also embarrasing me. But–they have done better this year than last. BFD with only 2 wins, but oh well. When does Survivor All Stars begin? See ya bros and broettes.

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 5 Episode 2
Air Date: 9/30/1991
Stardate: 45047.2 Capt. Picard is sent to meet with a race the leaders of the Federation has been unable to communicate with, as their language has been deemed unintelligible. The leader he is to meet with turns out to be the Captain of a one of their starships, whom abducts Picard down to a planet which has a vicious alien predator with cloaking ability. Picard and the alien ship’s Captain must break through their communication problems and work with each other, if they are to survive the planet’s vicious predator.

December 13th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
sorry blackgirl those posts were only for trekkies who are addicted to star trek the next generation
December 13th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
in the episode mentioned st tng, picard cannot understand their language and his contact, a captain from the alien race is killed by the predator because Picard cannot understand the history based language of the alien captain, and because picards crew trys to rescue him while picard is trying to save the alien captain, picard wins the battle to understand the alien language but the alien captain who sacrificed himself to save picards life is killed by the predator…Mick is probably going to lose to Natalie, even though they slay RussHell
December 13th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
the alien language uses historical phrases like [Darmok and Jilad at Tenagra] that is ALL they say, but the meaning in english is YOU AND I TOGETHER CAN SLAY THE PREDATOR BUT ALONE WE WILL DIE… in the alien history i guess Darmok and Jilad fought their predator, so to offer such an alliance to picard the alien says DARMOK AND JILAD AT TENAGRA but picard does not know the alien history that Darmok and Jilad were allies, picard assumes the alien captain wants to fight to the death with picard, instead of fighting together against the predator, a fatal error that causes the alien captain to die…
December 13th, 2009 at 9:39 pm
Mick is the alien captain of Foa Foa,
RussHell is the evil predator,
Natalie survives but Mick dies…
December 13th, 2009 at 9:49 pm
blackgirl, here is an explanation of my particular insanity
i hav memorized the story lines and EVERY WORD of dialogue from HUNDREDS of star trek episodes, i watch then day and night over and over, in hopes that my movie script producers, if any, will ask me to write new story lines for my scifi script in the future, click my name here for EVERY star trek episode AFTER the original Shatner series which is already free in many places on the web, this site list all tng, voyager, ds9 and enterprise episodes, complete videos of every season after the original..
December 13th, 2009 at 9:55 pm
i have watched them ALL, some of them HUNDREDS of times for a particular episode, such as Voyager Sacred Ground where Janeway sacrifices herself to save Kes, and finds the spirits who can save Kes right away but assumes they are just a bunch of senile elders, and rejects the spirits advice, Janeway punishes herself in all sorts of rituals thinking that will save Kes, when all Janeway had to do in the beginning was ASK the spirit elders how to save Kes…
December 13th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
i have also watched MANY of the fan based fan written and fan produced videos which were based on star trek, all the star trek movies and tons of fan based blogs, books and story lines created by the fans, many people do not realize how generous Gene Roddenberry was to Star Trek fans, he allowed them to use his copyrighted star trek series as a basis for any type of fan based idea, a generosity which has produced MILLIONS of faithful star trek fans all over the world, about four million average watched EACH original broadcast of Star Trek when each episode first appeared on TV, for FORTY YEARS of original broadcasts…
December 13th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
averaging about 25 new tv shows each year there are about 1000 original star trek TV hours, all pretty much original story lines, i was privileged to meet and speak for about an hour with two star trek tv and movie story writers, both older women, who shared many ideas with me and explained a lot of star trek lore…such as the star dates at the beginning of every show are just a bunch of nonsense
December 13th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
oh yeah i think the phrase DARMOK AND JILAD ON THE OCEAN meant Darmok and Jilad survived by fighting together against the predator who appears out of thin air to attack, but once exposed. the predator can be killed, so NATALIE AND MICK ON THE OCEAN means Nat and Mick survived the battle…
December 13th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
It seems that many people measure the winner by other accomplishments rather than the obvious one: knowing how to play the game. The last people standing next to Russell, owe it to him to be in that place. Now, many judge Russell’s character, others see how christian is the finalist, others consider how rich or poor the finalist is. And, based on that, they decide if the finalist deserves the vote or not. What is that?. This is Survivor, a game that rewards the one who is able to survive under extreme situations. It isn’t Sunday School Bible study Survivor. Please, bad or not, Russell made it to the final 3. Thanks to him the others did too. If the other two were so great, why didn’t they form an alliance to get rid of Russell?. They had the numbers, but not the guts that the guy had.
December 13th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
I dont think we bought our egg nog at the same story Anthony bought his at. As far as who deserves it or who is worthy or not to win, in all honesty it really does not matter. Its all up to the jury and they can do whatever they want to do. MB made sure he gave us what he needed to give us for ratings and a good season but he cant control whos name they write down to win. Its fun to talk about and debate but in the end, it doesnt matter if they deserve it or not, its just a game. I think up to now you could make a case for Natalie. Shes played a great social game. Shes stood by the guy she promised to stand by on day 1. Shes a tough little cookie in challenges and shes learned how to play the game along the way. She is a far cry from the girl who asked the producers on day 2 “when do we get hotel breaks?” Isnt that just adoreable? Of course you can make a case for Russell to win, he has actually controlled the entire game. He controlled his own tribe before the merge and then went into a merge down 8-4 and still managed to control whats happened since. He hasnt won immunity to keep himself safe but he did find immunity idols. The move last week to wear the hidden idol at TC was very bold and was just his way of saying, “come on, I dare you to vote for me.” Who else has ever done that? So far, there is just not much of a case that can be made for Mick. He has done good at challenges but has basically just followed what the real tribe leader asked to be done. I can tell you this, if Natalie wins, Russell would respect that, Mick would respect that. If Russell wins, Natalie would respect that, Mick would respect that. If Mick wins….well maybe the Galu folks or Jaison would respect it. But again, bottom line, all of that does not matter when you are dealing with 9 different personalities. I think if Russell pulled off the upset and won, they would have to carry Laura out in a little white suit, kicking and screaming.
December 13th, 2009 at 11:04 pm
Forgot to mention, it looks like Natalie might be holding a little fishing pole? Also not 100% those 3 go on the reward yet, maybe I will get some more info this week on it. Obviously Brett does win immunity this week and also next Thursday and the first one on finale night. I hope to find out a little more info on how this plays out with Shambo leaving. Do they lie to her and let her think shes safe or do they treat her like they should and just be honest with her and let her know they are sorry but its her turn to leave? I hope they are honest with her and dont do her dirty. Congrats Ashley on your running back winning the Heisman, he sure is good!! You guys have had a fantastic season and I hope you beat Texas!!!!
December 13th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
Lav, I totally agree with you that worthiness to win should have nothing to do with religion or outside accomplishments. It’s like on Amazing Race when I hear a couple say “We have the Lord on our side, or Jesus wants us to win”, I always laugh. Yeah, right. Survivor is about gamemanship under a very specific set of circumstances. Love him or hate him, Russell is a master player.
Missyae, that was an excellent summary! I love this line “I think if Russell pulled off the upset and won, they would have to carry Laura out in a little white suit, kicking and screaming.” Personally, I’d pay to see that!
December 14th, 2009 at 12:35 am
Me too. That would make up for having to see her evil looks. She actually would be pretty, but her meanness stands out, it’s a reflection on her face.
December 14th, 2009 at 12:36 am
Cooper: thanks for making me feel like I’m not alone.
December 14th, 2009 at 1:05 am
Y’ALL COME ON IN HERE!(My Jeff Probst imitation) Great commentary folks. Winning Survivor is for the most part a popularity contest among the tribemates. Outwit, outlast outplay. Outplay is the last of the attributes mentioned because it is the least important. It is just a tool to help you to outlast your opponents. If a person steps up and outplays the others too much they become a target and will not outlast their opponents.
None of our final three have outplayed the others. Mick is the only one of the final three to win an individual immunity and as Foo Foo’s the group only won once. (Yasmin week) They have outwitted their opponents to get to where they are. I have to admit it, as bad as I hate to, that Russell played a big part in that. Natalie and Mick outwitted Russell by letting him take the role as judge, jury and executioner to all the people on the jury that will be doing the voting as to who among the three gets a million dollars. Russell doesn’t have a chance. Mick was the leader of a tribe that couldn’t win any contests and did nothing as a leader. Natalie did very little also. She did however outwit the others by not rubbing anyone the wrong way except in the “lets vote for Eric” episode. She did look really hot killing the rat.
I’LL GO TALLEY THE VOTES.
Natalie-1 rat
Mick-0 rats
Russell-Is a rat.
Natalie wins!!!!

my posts in the last topic stand, you HAVE TO BE THERE, and everyone who WAS there says the same things, mama d says i am the Cloris Leachman of Survivor future, so maybe we all have clairvoyant dreams
i am pretty sure i could not last 30 seconds on Survivor, but i do appreciate THE ANCIENT SCHOOL OF DEAD COMEDIANS which is where i speak to the dead comedians and publish their jokes for them now that they are dead
December 14th, 2009 at 2:23 am
i just got a clairvoyant message from THE SCHOOL OF ANCIENT COMEDIANS delivered by ELMER FUDD: WE ARE NOT DEAD WE ARE JUST WESTING
this message is from The Ancient School of Dead Comedians, sponsored by Westing House
December 14th, 2009 at 2:50 am
i first person i ever worked with in show business in person was Betty White [Golden Girls] in 1968, what a beautiful lady! Cloris Leachman was always one of my favorite comediennes but i never got to work with her, comedy is one of the greatest inventions of mankind, as i wrote to Emily Ecton who produces WAIT WAIT DONT TELL ME Dear Emily WWDTM is better that an antidepressant pill
Emily said that my message had made her day, sorry i cannot think of ANY way to make the day of a RussHell fan, i stand by my posts here about RH, but like i said YOU HAD TO BE THERE, i will wait until the jury tells us why, but i really believe he gets no votes
December 14th, 2009 at 2:52 am
oh wow i did NOT work in Golden Girls
that was just a reference to Bettys career, we worked on scripting and producing a radio show based on old show scripts, at a veterans hospital where the men who had psychological and physical damage were there for the rest of their lives
December 14th, 2009 at 2:58 am
Fibber McGee and Molly, stuff like that, it was really funny to stand up and say those words in person then hear it broadcast over the in hospital radio system…i had forgotten all about that until mama d called me the Cloris Leachman of Survivor Fandom
December 14th, 2009 at 3:14 am
i am happy to hear that RH will be on an all star survivor, that should give RH and all of us a really fair comparison, i hope Ozzy and Yao Man are on and some of the great idol finders of the past…
December 14th, 2009 at 3:23 am
for those who do not know Yao Mans idol finding ability Yao Man found TWO IDOLS both of which were completely in sight of EVERY OTHER PLAYER, officially one idol could only be used by the other team, so Yao Man made sure a member of the other team got that idol, NOW what do you think RH would have done with the other idol?
December 14th, 2009 at 3:30 am
also i think Yao Man originated the method of MAKING A FALSE IDOL after finding the REAL IDOL and putting the FALSE idol in the SAME PLACE where everyone with a clue would look, and that method was used by Ozzy later, and i am sure at least one blindsided person actually gave Jeff the false idol thinking it was real. cannot remember which show, but RH gave no indication that he was that inventive with his idol finds, that would have gotten RH a little more respect from me if RH had made at least one false idol…
December 14th, 2009 at 5:03 am
part one of Deep Space Nine FAR BEYOND THE STARS a somewhat realistic representation of the racial prejudice of the 1950s in the USA,
click my name here for part one, this is the most interesting DS9 show in my opinion, the idea is that an African American man wrote ALL the DS9 stories in the 1950s then became battered and insane due to the violent racism, sorry i do not know if this is anywhere near the real way that DS9 stories were written, but the story line is my idea of one of the best of any time, matching or exceeding the quality of any type of literature known to mankind…i actually experienced some of the scenes myself, as late as 1978 in Pittsburgh PA where racism has hopefully died forever…
December 14th, 2009 at 5:10 am
part two DS9 Far Beyond the Stars, the acting sometimes sounds like the actors are reciting their lines, this was possibly due to fatigue, the stamina it takes to act while filming can be very draining emotionally and physically, or it could be a deliberate technique to show the aftermath of a war with the Dominion which was supposed to be over at the time of this story but battles were still being fought, similar to world war two when AFTER the war was declared over, many of the opposing armies were illegally murdered out of sheer revenge…
December 14th, 2009 at 5:13 am
just a warning, the artistic representation is quite realistic and the N word is used in proper context in my opinion, so please do not be offended, it is an accurate portrayal of the times as i saw them
December 14th, 2009 at 6:07 am

June, Thanks, and Barney is better. Good thing, I was getting tired of cleaning up poop.
Hee, Hee. Hey, I don’t watch college football much, but I heard the term “wildcat play” and didn’t know what it meant. Yesterday I heard that term for the NFL. Will somebody tell me what it means? AC – on and on and on and on. Also, when does Survivor Allstars start? If the winner would be based upon skill, it would be Russell. Somebody tell me what in the heck Natalie has done? 0 as far as I can see.
December 14th, 2009 at 12:19 pm
June, by the way, I didn’t take Barney to the vet, cause I know why he was sick. He ate a peanut butter cookie that was on the end table. It gave him the runs.

Scotty K- I am a big Dexter fan. I loved the final episode. I just hate that it is over. I watch Californification also after Dexter. It was a block buster ending also. TV rehab here I come.

Summer #67- As to what Natalie has done refer to my post #36. To get votes, not doing anything bad is the best strategy.
June- I love the name Hairy Potter for a Tarantula. If he is your baby and you have had him for five years, you should keep him.

Scotty K, I am a Dexter fan too..I hope he is just dreaming or something and Rita comes back next season. she is very annoying and clingy but she has been a part of the show from day one so I will miss her. I think Trinity got off too easy..wanted to see a more brutal kill. You guys watch HUNG..so good.

To Jeff & Blackgirl (#75 & 77)… I don’t watch Californication — except once or twice to see Sarandon’s daughter naked (she is incredible).. Show looks like it’s right up my alley as perverted as I am — but i just never got into it and don’t like to jump in mid-show — would rather get catch up via DVD and go from there…
As far as Dexter.. you are right — he did get off waaaaay too easy, and Rita is SUPER annoying — I was shocked that they took her out and what’s gonna happen when the sister and her douchey partner starts nosing around as to why Rita was chosen, etc…
Talking about the nosey partner, I was hoping he would get what Doakes got a few seasons ago!!

Jeff 76. YOu know what? I think that if you are going to be paid 1 million dollars, you should do something besides sitting around and doing nothing to further the game or contribute to it. That is why Natalie is not deserving of the win. The slogan to the show is outwit, she hasn’t; outplay; she hasn’t, and I guess we will see if she outlasts. This is why reality shows drive me nutz, because, for the most part, they are so fakey, and unfair.

Hey Jeff. Are Dexter and Californication done for good, or just for the season? Cause, I love them both. Hey, you should know the answer to this question – in football, what is a Wildcat play? Thanks,

Ashley, thanks as always for a great post and some juicy tidbits about the last two (last two, tears forming in my eyes) eppys! You and Missyae really compliment each other so well – both of you are so thoughtful in your posts!

Jeff – I watched Dexter a couple of times. My problem with Dexter is that “Dexter” starred in my absolute favorite series, “Six Feet Under” and I could never transition from him as the gay undertaker to the character of Dexter.

blackgirl, mama d and June – hope you are all doing well – I’ve really enjoyed reading your comments! I put my Survivor Christmas ornament on the tree today – it plays the theme music from the show – if you lean in close to the computer screen, maybe you can hear it. Off to wrap gifts – chat later, peeps!

I guess I didnt post this info here but I know I posted it over at SUCKS. For whomever said they would respect Russell if he had made a fake hidden immunity idol – start respecting. Before the merge when they were sending people to visit each others camps – Russell and Ben made a fake idol and Shambo found it but never used it and it was never part of the game. The reason I was given as to why we didnt see this is the producers felt they have spent way too much time in recent seasons devoted to fake idols – especially since it had no bearing on The Game at all this season. For those keeping count of idols – Russell found 3 and created 1 fake one. Next season he finds 3 more and talks someone out of theirs for a total of 4 hidden idols next season. And you know what? Some still wont respect that as good gameplay. Some will say the producers just hid them and told him where they were at. To me – thats just someone who does not like that particular player and cannot bring themself to admitting it was quite a feat to pull off. It was great how Natalie went and infiltrated the Galu women but guess whos idea it was and asked her to do it? Anyway – Monica is talking today in interviews and saying some pretty interesting stuff.

Jeanne, Six Feet Under is my absolute favourite series, too! I have the whole series and one night soon am planning a marathon viewing session with Brittany and a couple other friends. Too bad you don’t live close enough to join us!

Summer- I didn’t know what the wildcat formation was either so I googled it and from Wikipedia I found out the following. It is an offensive formation with a distinguishing factor of a direct snap to the running back and an unbalanced offensive line. Every play looks like a sweep behind zone blocking. After the snap several things can happen once a player in motion crosses the position of the player receiving the snap. The running back can run it himself or hand off to another running back or the quarterback who can either throw a pass or run it themselves. It makes it hard to defend because so many options are available. Micheal Vick claims to be the originator. In college it was first used by the Arkansas Razorbacks and was called the Wild Hog Offense in 2008. Coaches Gus Malzahn (now with Auburn) and David Lee (now with the Miami Dolphins) were the coaches who implemented it with the Razorbacks. David Lee as quarterback coach with the Dolphins used it when their quarterback was injured against the Carolina Panthers and they played a number of plays without even using a quarterback.

#87 Cooper – Man, you could count me in on a Six Feet Under marathon! Wish you lived closer. Chips, soda and the crazies at the funeral home – now that’s entertainment!

Even after so many series there is no formula as to who wins Survivor – this is what keeps it so amazingly fresh! So many people along the way have thought they’ve “got it in the bag” only to be blindsided (don’t we love that!!). So many others could have won and maybe have been more worthy winners than those who did, if they played the game a little differently. What makes a winner – is it social skills, strategic game playing or the luck & skills to win immunity at the right times?
