Dan is a US postal service worker, but he tells us in his introduction video that he’s so much more. He’s a technician and a landlord and a notary republic and a minister and a parent and a husband. Some might call him a jack of all trades. Some might call him a blowhard.

What is cool about Dan, however, is he’s a true Survivor super fan. And there are no gimmicks or stunts with this guy. He’s just a fan who has been auditioning non-stop since season 2. He says he’s sent in over 100 applications and has driven more than 25,000 miles to go to to open casting calls.

Dan Foley is so into Survivor, he says he doesn’t even want to win for the money. If he were to win, he’d hand that check right over to his wife. He has a better reward in mind.

“Money can be spent,” Dan says, “but pride — that’s forever.”

Yikes. If this guy doesn’t last long I’ll feel so, so sorry for him. And if he tries to sound like the know-it-all he seems to be in his video, he might not last long. He could easily annoy the other people on the island. But we’ll see.
