Next time on Survivor 2017, “drop your buffs,” because the game is about to change again. Looks like the Mana, Nuku, and Tavua tribes are done for as we head toward a Survivor Merge Shuffle this coming week of Game Changers.
There’s a lot more drama to be had than just a new tribe color though. Exile Island is back and someone is about to head there and I’ll share my guesses on who that might be. Oh, and someone is coming back.
It’s about to be a busy night on Survivor. Here’s what’s coming up next.
So the second round of tribes are over and we’re about to watch one big happy camp, right? Probably not, but that raises the next point of who will have the numbers advantage.
Since the Shuffle Tavua has managed to not lose a member. They’ve been strong in performances and hold a six-castaway count over the four at Nuku and five at Mana. Then again, these are their second tribes and there could be deeper loyalties not only to the original tribes, but also to earlier seasons. If you need a refresher you can check out our list of the old and new tribes on Survivor 2017.
Moving on to the next element, we’ve got Exile Island. Just as before I’d expect one castaway to be banished there for a short time before returning to the camp with the other castaways. Maybe we’ll see a special reward out there like an Idol, but we’ll have to wait and see.
So who is going to Exile? The preview clip hints it could be either Ozzy, Andrea, Troyzan, or Sandra as it flips across those four faces while Jeff voices over that “you are going to Exile Island.” When we see Jeff delivering that line he appears to be pointing in the direction of the middle group, Tavua. They do have the most castaways so that could be their “reward” for doing so well at challenges while leveling the field for the other two losing tribes.
If someone from Tavua goes then only Ozzy and Troyzan would be the overlap of those four faces we see in the clip. And wouldn’t it be Ozzy-like to volunteer for the position, possibly even as an unknown request from Jeff like “I need a volunteer from Tavua”? We should see, but my guess it’ll be a member of Tavua going and if it is then Ozzy wouldn’t surprise me.
As if all that wasn’t enough, we’ve got one more twist for next week: “A former Survivor makes a surprise return.” Now nothing says that would be a permanent return to the game so this could be someone showing up to give something up. Maybe JT pulls up in a boat at Exile Island and hands over his unused Idol. Okay, probably not, but who knows.
