Survivor 2013 Blood Vs Water: Episode 1 Results

Survivor 2013 cast - Blood vs Water

Our first round of Survivor results for the new Blood vs Water season! I’ll be live blogging tonight’s Survivor as it plays out for the full ninety-minute premiere episode. By the end of the night three castaways will be voted out of their tribes and head to Redemption Island. According to the spoilers there could even be one of the swaps where a player sacrifices his/her spot in the game for their loved one and heads to the arena themselves.

Each of the ten couples will be dropped off in the jungle and head out for a night’s rest and from the footage we saw in the preview it does not look pretty. The next morning the pairs are picked back up and brought together for some surprising news: they will not be playing as a couple.

The pairs are separated in to newbie vs veteran tribes and one person from each set is immediately voted out. Ouch! They’ll head to Redemption Island and face tonight’s voted-off castaway for a three-person battle for their Survivor life!

Are you ready? Let’s see where tonight’s premiere show takes us!

Jeff gathers the castaways on the beach the next morning and after Jeff reveals the news there are hugs all around. Most are nervous about the change, but there are a few excited to play against their loved ones.

Tribal names are revealed. Veterans’ tribe is orange and named Galang. Newbies’ tribe is red and named Tadhana.

The votes are openly revealed. Newbie tribe votes are: Laura, Laura, Laura, Marissa, Laura, Laura. That’s it. Laura is voted out.

Vet tribe votes: Laura, Laura, Candice, Candice, Candice, Laura, Candice, Gervase, Candice. That’s it. Candice is voted out.

Jeff reveals that they are voted out of their tribes, but not voted out of the game. The castaways are told about the return of Redemption Island where they’ll compete to stay in the game.

Now Jeff announces their loved ones can swap spots at Redemption Island. Rupert immediately comes forward. Jeff stops him and explains that she’ll return to his tribe. Tina pleads for Rupert not to do it. Rupert goes ahead and does it anyway. Tina reveals in a side talk that she’s upset because they were relying on his strengths.

Candice and her husband John talk about the same move but decide against it. John will stay with his newbie tribe.

Castaways arrive at their camps and there’s immediate resentment at Laura who has swapped places with her husband Rupert. She’ll have to learn all the skills that he would have brought with him after several seasons on the beach.

Monica confronts Colton about his past behavior on their season of “One World.” He promises to do right by her and she promises to forgive his history.

Over at the Tadhana camp their getting shelter set up. It’s obviously going a little less smooth, but their doing alright. What they don’t have is fire.

Brad starts working on a five guys alliance with John, Caleb, Hayden, and Aras. Everyone but Caleb seem excited about the idea, but Caleb still pretends to be excited and says he’ll go along with it for now.

The story jumps over to Redemption Island where Candice and Rupert are killing time working on some coconuts. Candice is taking out some anger issues chopping the coconuts while Rupert sleeps and relaxing. His laziness is driving her crazy, but Rupert explains that he is conversing his energy while she burns through hers. Sounds like a good plan, but will it work?

Ah, it’s tree-mail time. Each tribe receives their message and they gather around to hear what’s ahead. Sounds like it’s time for the Blue Lagoon Bustle comp that we watched earlier in the day. Everyone gets excited for the chance to compete against their loved ones.

Immunity is up for grabs. Castaways will swim out through an obstacle course, bring back a chest on a boat, assemble a puzzle, and use that to raise their flag. First tribe to finish avoids Tribal Council.

Tadhana (newbies) take a strong lead as the vets struggle. Why the vets sent Gervase out for this portion is behind me. They continue to support him as they wait on him for the next step. Now Aras is having to help pull Gervase to the boat. Sheesh.

Things even out as they head back to the beach on their boats, but now the vets can’t manage to go in a straight line. The newbies have a healthy lead, but can they keep it going? Back on the boat Colton is screaming at Kat that she needs to paddle or he’ll hit her with his. Is the old Colton back already?

Both tribes are struggling through their puzzle to build a wheel, but the vets are closing the gap and start to take the lead. The vets move on to the second bag of pieces and then the third as the newbies work on the first bag. Jeff calls it an “absolute collapse.” Yep. it’s pretty bad.

Galang wins Immunity! They also take back the flint which they really didn’t need nearly as much as the newbies do. It’ll be another night without fire back there.

It’s time for Tadhana to prepare for Tribal Council as one of their castaways is about to be voted out and off to Redemption Island. The guys come together and decide that one of the puzzle builder girls has to be the one to go tonight. Things don’t look good for Marissa as many of the Tadhana tribe are annoyed with Gervase over-the-top celebration when Galang beat them. Uh oh, Marissa.

Time for some Tribal Council goodness. The newbies break the seal on the new set up as the first to visit Jeff with their torches. As the talk starts up it becomes obvious where sights are being aimed. Marissa is taking heat from the guys again based on Gervase’s behavior. Katie agrees that one of the puzzle builders will take the fall for the loss.

It’s time to vote. Jeff reveals the results: Katie, Marissa, Marissa, Marissa, Marissa, and Marissa. That’s enough votes. Marissa is voted off Survivor tonight. She gives a sad look over her should as Jeff snuffs her torch. He tells her she has a chance to get back in the game and she heads out in to the darkness.
