Survivor 2013 Caramoan Episode 2 Recap: Brandon Gets Diagnosed; Fans Come Apart At The Seams

This week’s Survivor 2013 Caramoan opens on the favorites reeling after Francesca was eliminated at the first Tribal Council. For some reason Brandon is really upset. So he and Dawn are arguing. Dawn goes off and cries and can’t understand how Brandon can be so mean. I guess she doesn’t know much about the Hantz family.

Meanwhile, Brandon is fed up and feeling “revengeful.” So he’s thinking of going “Russell Hantz style.” He’s having a typical crazy country boy moment that makes no sense. He wants to play dirty and go out with a bang. Yada yada. The worst villains are the ones that try to be a villain. Over it.

The next day the Gota tribe (the fans) are getting settled in and personality types are starting to come out. Shamar is laying low. Some of the others are deciding that he’s lazy and if they go to Tribal, he’ll be the one to go.

Back at the Bikal tribe camp, Brandon has settled down and Cochran is trying to keep some sense flowing through him. And Brandon decides to try to play the game as clean as possible. “The best thing I can do is be nice,” he says.

Cochran realizes that he’s somewhat of a sociopath. Then later Phillip diagnoses him as a narcissist . I could say a lot here, but I’m not ready to start pulling out my psychology knowledge. I’ll try to stay on task and not diagnose Brandon’s psychological disorder.

And it’s already immunity challenge time. It’s your typical Survivor water course/ring toss. They’re playing for immunity, of course, and a complete fishing kit. The favorites easily win the challenge. The fans get to go to their first Tribal Council.

And as Reynold says, the obvious vote will be for Shamar. Which means it won’t be Shamar. That’s too obvious.

Speaking of Reynold and Shamar, the two of them have it out back at camp over Shamar’s “it is what it is” attitude. Reynold tells him that it’s not acceptable and that he’s going to vote out Shamar at Tribal.

But his alliance is really only made up of four. Shamar is in one with five others. So I think Reynold’s couples group might be outnumbered. Or are they? Matt and the Michael are still kind of in the middle of both alliances.

Reynold finds the hidden immunity idol after barely trying, so he’s in a good place.

The fans head off to Tribal Council where everyone talks about the little clique that’s formed within their tribe. And Shamar’s seemingly lazy nature comes up where he reminds everyone that he’s done tours of duty in Iraq. Gee, does anyone think it might be a strategy?

Laura calls out Reynold. Well, Jeff makes her, basically. She doesn’t understand why he brought it to Tribal. As if that’s not what you’re supposed to do with the Idol. Things got a little weird and confusing, so let’s just see how the votes go.

The vote:

Shamar: 4
Allie: 6

Allie is out and the foursome is broken up. What do you think of Allie getting voted off?
