Survivor 2020: Jeff Probst On This Week’s Shocking Elimination

This week Survivor fans around the world let out cries of despair when Ethan Zohn was voted off Surivor Winners at War.

Was it because Ethan is so loved? Was it because Ethan wasn’t even the threat? Was it because it wasn’t Boston Rob who was sent packing from Survivor 2020? I think it was a little bit of everything. Ethan is so calm and cool and likable, so that was definitely the biggest part of the disappointment for most fans (I know I’m personally still devastated he was out so early). But it was also about how dumb of a move it was by the players wanting to weaken Rob! Even Jeff Probst told Entertainment Weekly it was a bad move.

“I would vote Rob and Parvati out first and second — in any order — but they would be the first two, Jeff told EW. “History has shown they are simply too dangerous. But Rob and Parvati have a way of hanging around just long enough to get their claws into the game and that could be what’s happening right now. If you miss your chance, it may be too late.”

Jeff also recognizes that this isn’t a normal season, so that’s effecting a lot of the moves we’ve seen and have yet to see.

“But now that I’ve made my case for voting out Rob and Parvati, I will add this — Winners at War is not an ordinary season,” Jeff explained. “There are so many incredibly talented, insanely sophisticated, bright shiny players, that I don’t think it’s quite as easy as I am making it out to be. I could list at least another dozen players still in the game that should also be on the same radar due to their tenacity. And the other five are just as talented, they just play a more stealth game which can allow them to momentarily lurk in the shadows. There are no easy vote outs. There is not a player here who cannot win this season. The odds are going to fluctuate from week to week, but this game is way too complicated to predict what is going to happen.”

What did you think of Ethan’s elimination? Would you have gone for Rob or Parvati instead of Ethan?
