The new season of Survivor 2016 started this week with the arrival of 20 castaways, all new players, and the reveal of two tribes with Millennials vs Gen X. The journey to Sole Survivor begins now!

We’ve got an extra long premiere show just to squeeze down the Big Brother 18 finale to a shorter window then it should get before we find out who was voted off Survivor this week. First though, let’s get these new castaways on the beach and in to their first Survivor challenge.

Once everyone is settled in we’ll get to see the tribe dynamics and how camp life goes as there’s always some of work together great and those who don’t want anything to do with anyone.

Few bits out of the scramble. Jessica found an envelope left behind by another castaway so she hid that away. On the choices side of thing the Gen X castaways took fishing gear over chickens while Millennials opted for the chickens, or as Jeff said, the short term gain option.

More details on that envelope Jessica found. It contains the “key” to a “Legacy Advantage” which will give her an advantage in the game if she’s still around on Day 36. No more info than that yet.

Before we can get too deep in to the Survivor premiere we’ll have an evacuation event over severe weather. Time for everyone to head down to the beach and in to the boats. Everyone is taken to a safe harbor

Immunity Challenge:
Immunity is up for grabs. Losing tribe has a date night with Jeff where one of them will be voted out. This challenge gives the tribes an option to play it as it lays or go for a short cut. This idea reminds me of when the B Vs B Vs B tribes got to pick challenges based on their stereotyped abilities and how that flopped. Hopefully the tribes here make better choices.

Jeff explains the challenge has a few shortcuts to take, but for each shortcut the tribe takes it’ll add 10 more pieces to their final puzzle. The choice is theirs to make. In the end, Gen-X took 2 shortcuts and have 70 pieces to solve while Millennials took only 1 shortcut and will have 60 pieces.

Millennials win the challenge after Gen-X squanders the lead they received from the shortcuts. Hmm, was this supposed to be a setup for Mill’s to take all the shortcuts while Gen-X took the harder path? Didn’t work out that way tonight.

Gen-X is about to lose someone from their tribe as they head off to meet Jeff Probst for the first Tribal Council of Season 33.

Tribal Council:
Someone is about to be voted off. Back at camp the targets looked to be set on Rachel and David with one of them set to go.

Votes: David, Rachel, Sunday, CiCi, Rachel, CiCi, Rachel, CiCi, Rachel, Rachel.

First person voted off Survivor 2016: Rachel Ako.

  1. It’s quite an evening for the next 3 hours.

Did you saw the sequence where they have to evacuate ? I don’t know if it is tonight.

  2. LOL. It’s Steve Martin…I DO have a pic of me in that costume, though. I’ll post it just for you. ;)

  3. lol What do guys think of the casting..Don’t they all look similar to ex-players….They have the Malcolm look, the Asians..did I see a gay guy?

  4. Let’s see who am I gonna drown or feed the sharks in this season…You know I have to drown Jeff right? haha

  5. That’s because you’re a ‘hunter-gatherer’ type. I don’t like to see the chicken cooped up in pens. If they were hunted, it’d be different…I’d be cool with that.

  6. Yes, when they were grabbing food, she found it after a millennial kind of moved food and it was revealed.

  7. It says that if she is still in the game on day 36, she will get an advantage. The kick is, if she get voted out, she has to give to somebody else.

  8. I realize that. But already 1 cocky kid, thinking how cute a few of the girls are…uuugh.

  9. I’m looking forward to getting to know them. Isn’r Jozea supposed to be a guest star later in the season? I thought I read that somewhere.

  10. Oh, that kid is in for a rude awakening if he thinks ‘last night was the worst night of his life.’

  11. OMG! It’s kind of scary. Been through rough weather (snowed in so much so guards were called i and a hurricane), never a cyclone, but the thought alone is very scary.

  12. ha..I understand. This is just the first day..I might want them to drowned next week…you know.

  13. Who is the actor that looks like Rupert on AHS 6 (one of the hill billy brothers)? I thought it was him but couldn’t that he was in it anywhere.

  14. Cyclone is what we call a hurricane. Atlantic – hurricanes, pacific – cyclones. Weather channel explanation lol

  15. LOL! Thanks, well, I have experienced a cyclone. Now, I am going to say, I have been through a cyclone, hurricane, and a blizzard.

  16. She would have known how to handle that storm. You know Debbie knows everything and is the Jackie of all trades.

  17. No!!!!!! Vote for David. I think they are going to keep him around to use him later. NO! Vote David. Gosh, he talks so much. Shut up!

  18. She wasn’t much of a help in the challenge. Don’t think she will be missed. Didn’t do anything to stand out. I know I’m late here but I can’t comment and watch the show at the same time.

  19. I don’t want them to get hunted either! But at least they stand a chance if they’re hunted. When you can just grab ’em and kill ’em—it’s hardly fair. I’m with you, Lisa…I don’t want them eaten either.
    BTW, SO glad you’re HERE!!!

  20. Lol…I have to re-watch the show again afterwards, because I miss so much while I comment. A lot of us here do!

  21. Lol, M. Bergman! If he does watch, I hope he doesn’t know about this site. If he does, he better not eff with my Cyril again!
