Even though it’s been ten years since Survivor 2015 Second Chance cast member Tony Deitz has been on the show, he still looks virtually the same. Tony was a force to be reckoned with on Survivor Panama, coming very close to winning the game. A decade later, he still thinks he has what it takes to finally grab that million dollar prize.
Retired Navy pilot Terry worked extremely hard his first time around on Survivor, always looking for a way to be useful to the other castaways and get ahead in the game. He was also quite a beast at competitions, winning five individual immunity challenges — in a row! He is tied for the most consecutive immunity challenge wins ever (with Colby Donaldson from Survivor The Australian Outback).
That’s a feat to be proud of, but unfortunately it was the sixth challenge that did him in on Survivor Panama, when he lost the Final Immunity Challenge. He was betrayed by Danielle DiLorenzo, who had promised him a final two deal, but took Aras to the end instead. Danielle ended up losing to Aras by a 5 to 2 vote.
For Survivor Cambodia Second Chance, Terry Deitz will be part of the Ta Keo (green) tribe, along with Jeff Varner, Kelley Wentworth, Kelly Wiglesworth, Peih-Gee Law, Shirin Oskooi, Spencer Bledsoe, Abi-Maria Gomes, Vytas Baskauskas, andWoo Hwang. (Full Survivor Second Chance cast list.)
Terry got through to 3rd place on Survivor Panama primarily through being allied with the right people at the right time, and his amazing ability to win challenges when his back was against the wall. Ten years later, he may not quite be able to pull off the physical challenges like he did back then. So he’s going to have to step up his strategic game, and also try to keep from alienating possible allies in heated arguments, like he did in his previous run.

This is the second time Terry has been considered to be a return player on Survivor, narrowly missing out being on Survivor Micronesia. His fans weren’t willing to let that happen again, however, and voted him back on the show as part of the Survivor Cambodia cast of twenty returning players.
Terry Dietz couldn’t be more thrilled to be chosen by the fans to get the chance to be on Survivor 2015 Second Chance. He told Entertainment Weekly that he was very “excited” by the opportunity to try to do even better than third place this time around.
As for what Terry plans to do differently on Survivor Cambodia, the veteran player says he hopes to “play a more strategic game and balance much better!” We wish him all the luck, because there is almost nothing worse than coming in third place, except coming in second!
Find out if Terry will finally make it all the way to the end when Survivor Cambodia Second Chance debuts on September 23, 2015.
