If you learn nothing else about Survivor 2015 castaway Rob Lavoie Jr., learn that he’s from Boston. Because that seems to be how he defines himself.

Rodney Lavoie Jr on Survivor 2015

The 24-year-old salesman/contractor joins other blue collar Survivor Worlds Apart castaways in the Escameca Tribe. And according to his interview below, he’s going to run the island with his charm and by being a Bostonian. Did I mention he’s from Boston?

“I’m gonna use my charm and get people laughing,” Rodney Lavoie Jr says. “But at the end of the day I’m a salesman. I’m a hustler. I may go down as the best person from Boston of all time.

I’m looking forward to hearing Rodney make everyone laugh because people this cocky usually aren’t that funny. But “I use my personality to sell myself that will translate,” he swears. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

OK, to be fair, Rodney will probably be great at competitions and would be a great ally on Survivor 2015. So there’s potential there as long as he masks his cockiness. Which I’m not sure is possible.

“I’ve always been the captain of my team … ,” Rodney says with a gleam, ” … that ace.”

And whether or not Rodney Lavoie Jr is going to be the best person from Boston to play Survivor, that stands to be seen. But I think there might be a much more famous Bostonian Survivor alumni that would beg to differ.
