Survivor 2012 One World Episode 2 Recap: Salani Continues To Flop

Survior Troyzan

Survivor One World played out a lot like last week, except for the part where someone was actually voted off instead of being sent home with an injury.

Early in the episode we see Kristina and Alicia try to patch things up since they’re not exactly acting like two people in the same Survivor tribe. Kristina seems genuine, but Alicia not so much. There doesn’t seem to be any mind changing going on with how she feels about Kristina.

The females (Salani Tribe) are taking Jeff’s advice that they have to get stuff together or they’re going to fall apart. So in an impromptu spoken election, they name Sabrina their tribe leader. That’s probably at least a half-way decent move.

Sabrina, of course, isn’t very hopeful as the others in her tribe seem to be a lost cause. “Managing the airheads is going to be exhausting,” she said.

The Salani members find a couple crates and the note says to open it with the Manono Tribe. They find out it’s a do-it-yourself reward challenge and they’ll be playing for a tarp. It’s no surprise that the men win the tarp. And it looks like that will come in handy next week when the weather takes a nasty turn.

The focus then turns to Colton. The guys are annoyed because he won’t help with anything on their camp and the girls are afraid he’s going to run back to the guys and share their game plans. He claims that he’s just lonely and doesn’t fit in with the guys. Sabrina just thinks he’s a virus. It’s a good thing he got that immunity idol from her before she decided she hates him.

Speaking of the idol, Colton tells Troyzan, Jonas and Leif (at least I think it was Leif there in the night vision) about it. And like Jonas said, Colton went from the guy most likely to be voted off first to king. They decided they’ll use it to plot against the “muscles” (Mike and Matt).

At the immunity challenge, the women couldn’t get it together. But no one sucked quite as much as Kat. They lose. Again. And it was clearly largely due to Kat’s terrible playing. Nina decides to spend the rest of the day getting people to send Kat home. It sounds like Chelsea might be taking Nina’s bait but Kim doesn’t think it’s a good idea to piss off their alliance, so it starts looking like they’ll choose alliance over a smart game move.

At Tribal Council, the women learn from Jeff that they’re “off to one of the worst starts ever in this game.” And instead of getting rid of a weak link (Kat) and keeping a valuable player (Nina) they continue to suck at life and send Nina home. Um. She’s a former LAPD officer. I know she looks like serial killer Aileen Wuornos, but she could’ve added some strength and brains to the Salani Tribe.

Do you think they sent the wrong person home?
