Survivor 2014 Brawn Brains Beauty

During tonight’s season finale event Jeff Probst revealed the Survivor 2014 Cagayan theme to be… Brawn versus Brains versus Beauty. There will be three tribes with players fitting those specific categories. If this theme sounds familiar that’s because Big Brother did a very similar approach back in BB11 where the “Popular” player pulled off the win.

Perhaps the best part of the upcoming season is that there will be no returning players. It’s all new castaways! According to Jeff they’re doing it because they know the fans want new players. No kidding!

Probst says producers try to give viewers “what they want.” Case in point: Next season is a “direct response to the fans,” he teases.

Almost as great of news is that there will be no more Redemption Island, according to Reality Blurred. This is all great news for the upcoming Survivor Cagayan season!

  1. I’m excited about the new season, however I did love this one. Would like to see a Blood vs Water with all new players. Thanks for the great work Matt, see you in about 6 weeks here.

  2. LOVE it!!!! Currently on a rewatch! Now on Season 7 (First Rupert appearance!!) Went from 26 to 7, although I hadn’t done the rewatch in a long time since Season 27 was on. Now that it’s over it’s time to pick up where I left off (703) Can’t wait for Feb 2014!!

  3. Thank God no returning players. Ultimately they’re just game show contestants to me. The moment they’re out of the game, I’ve already forgotten they ever existed. If I ever see Rupert or Boston rob etc again it will be too soon.

  4. I don’t think we will be seeing either of them again. I loved Russell the first season he was on. Watching him find idols without any clues was awesome, and he had everyone fooled as to his true nature. His only chance to win though was that season. Once that season aired, nobody trusted him. He had no social game. He kept thinking that all he had to do was get to the final three and the jury would see past all his back stabbing and vote for him because of his superior game play. He just never got it. As far as Brandon goes. When he went off the deep end the last time he was on I seriously thought he was going to stab someone. Jeff was like a hostage negotiator the day he quit the show.

  5. I think they have found a good formula. Have a season with all new players every other season or so. Then have seasons with the more interesting people that they have had on past seasons. I like to see more of what the first couple of seasons were like. There are way to many reward challenges now. And what happened to the rule that they could only bring one personal item. Since it’s never mentioned anymore, I think they must have relaxed that. I think that they must now allow some personal care items. Remember the first season they were cooking rats because of the food shortage? I think the show has gotten a little soft.

  6. I want a season where it’s all new people, but they do have their secret best friend. Draw for teams and go!

  7. Cryptospore, Russell played back to back seasons before the winner of his first season was announced. He had already played twice before the first season aired. So there is no way the other players knew who he was.

  8. I am totally stoked to hear there WILL NOT be any annoying arrogant returning players this coming season and I swear if one of them manages to somehow appear I will STOP watching regardless how close to the end of season they are. I am also glad that redemption island crap has fallen by the way-side as well.

  9. I meant to say everyone was on to him the third time he was on with Brandon. I rooted for him the second time he was on also knowing that the other players didn’t know his strategies. It was even more fun to watch him the second time he was on. As a viewer it was great to know what Russell was going to do and also know that the other players had no clue. But after those seasons aired he needed to change his game up but he didn’t. It was no longer fun to watch him try the same old tricks.

  10. Have been a fan since season 1 and happy that the new season is almost here. Love to see the new twists. Here’s to another great season I’m sure

  11. I like Redemption island, less frustrating when a favorite gets voted out by a group of wannabes’! I find it boring when all guys/girls vote out the other sex! At least they have a chance to fight their way back and tick off the others!
I like the idea of only bringing back players every few seasons, and once they go Cray Cray they are gone. Nothing funny about it!
Whatever happened to looking for the Idol? The past few seasons entire groups hung out and never cared! Instead they followed others around so they wouldn’t find it! Dumb! Maybe put out a second idol secretly to shake things up.
And finally I wish they would quit designing competitions around the Producers favorites! We know they do it, not fair and once upon a time said Producer would go to prison for throwing the game! And obviously the stakes are way higher at $1.000 000.!!!

  12. love the show i hope that it runs forever one day i plain on appling but have to get in shape first
