Jeff Probst confirmed the rumors tonight. Next season will be Survivor Blood Vs Water again for Season 29 in San Juan Del Sur. Thankfully it’ll be an all-new cast for the next 2014 season!
Tonight on the Survivor finale we expect host Jeff Probst to confirm the spoilers reported that the next go around, Season 29, will bring in new castaways with the familiar twist of playing family vs alliances.
The twist last year made for great fun, but I’m really over the retreads showing up on Survivor so this is a welcome change. It could also mean we’ll see Redemption Island again which is a downer, but I guess you can’t win them all.
Update: Yes, Redemption Island will return, but Jeff promises a few twists on it.
As for the following season, Season 30, that’s supposed to be back to yet another all-stars with Survivor: Legends. Nuts.
What do you think about the return of Blood Vs Water? Could this twist work as well with new players instead of a mix of old and new like we saw last time?
I believe that formula will work even with all new players.
I wasn’t that excited by the first Blood vs. Water, most of the “twists” are kind of lame — you won’t see another Rupert swapping with his wife. But I am relieved to hear that at least the cast is all-new so maybe it won’t be totally predictable

I actually think the Redemption Island part could be great — if they would put the final winner of the Redemption challenges into the final tribal against the winner of the old school game. Let the jury decide which route was more worthy. As it has been done so far, the Redemption winner has no chance against the the other 3 or 4 when they return to the game so its just a waste of time.
Yeah, and it’ll be interesting to see the two seasons compared when doing the same twist, but with a different cast (retreads vs all-new).
I’m excited about an all-new cast again. It amazes me how new people always say they are super fans and then they make the same mistakes others have. Really wish they had waited 1 more year (2 seasons) to have another all-star edition. At least they gave us 2 seasons of new people.
I liked parts of the Blood vs water. Thought it added something. Maybe the winner of redemption could get a special idol or clue to it. Some people can’t find it even with a clue.
I dont know where I cast my vote for who in this season I would like to see return. But here it goes: Kass ! Yes, Kass. Before you dis me, let me add that with a little finnessing, on top of her newfound experience, Kass would be a terrific, edge of your seat, return player.
