Survivor 2017 starts next week and Jeff Probst is ready to share his take on the returning castaways with thoughts on why they’re back and how he expects them to perform this time on Season 34 “Game Changers.”

Jeff Probst talks Survivor 2017 cast

With all returning players on the Survivor 2017 cast there may not be any surprises unless these castaways decide to really change up their style and methods because only a few of them have won before which leaves room for a lot of corrections on past mistakes.

Jeff starts off again defending the cast list say “Game Changers” is about being willing to take the risk and try to make the moves that could change the game, even if they didn’t.

Here are some of the notes from Jeff’s review of the 2017 castaways. The full video clip is provided below as well

  • Tony Vlachos: “Tony is either going to go deep or be early out.”
  • Cirie Fields: “Cirie would honestly be my personal favorite to win because I think the audience wants her to fulfill that destiny.”
  • Tai Trang: “He’s shown that he’s not a closer.”
  • Sandra Diaz-Twine: “Even as a two time winner she’s still underestimated because she plays such a quiet game.”
  • Malcolm Freeberg: “Malcolm does have an Achilles heel. He’s pretty good in challenges, but he’s not great. He’s pretty good strategically, but not quite there.”
  • Michaela Bradshaw: “Michaela is first and foremost a closer. She’s willing to do anything to win a challenge.”
  • Ozzy Lusth: “I don’t think Ozzy can win. I think Ozzy still doesn’t get the social game.”
  • Debbie Warner: “I hope that Debbie comes in and plays to the stereotype and then ascends.”
  • JT Thomas: “You never hear JT bragging about how he won. You hear him talking about his mistakes.”
  • Ciera Eastin: “This girl voted out her mom.”
  • Caleb Reynolds: “We know he’ll kill it in challenges. The question is what kind of game will he have socially?”
  • Hali Ford: “I think where Hali fell short was she adopted the no-collar attitude and I think it cost her.”
  • Brad Culpepper: “If he can get past the excuses and go ‘where did I go wrong?’… I think Culpepper could pick an alliance and maybe go deep.”
  • Andrea Boehlke: “I’m hoping this is the time when she realizes ‘okay, I’m good at strategy. I’m a hustler. I can find Idols. But I’m not good at reading people.”
  • Troyzan Robertson: “He was willing to say, ‘it’s my island,’ and try to intimidate them. It didn’t work.”
  • Sierra Thomas: “I’m anticipating Sierra Thomas starts where she left off.”
  • Jeff Varner: “Jeff will never win a challenge… What Varner is great at is moving you to his idea.”
  • Sarah Lacina: “Willing to make a move. I think Sarah might really surprise some people.”
  • Zeke Smith: “I want to see Zeke play and I want to see him get a chance to mix it up with other great players.”
  • Aubry Bracco: “We watched a transition. We truly watched a Hero’s Journey. We see ourselves in her.”
