Survivor 2019: Edge Of Extinction Week 01 Gallery [Pics]

Survivor 2019 premiered last night and brought us an all-new theme/twist, the Edge of Extinction. The 18 castaways were divided into two tribes, including two returnees on each.

For the most part the new castaways welcomed Joe, Kelley, Aubry and David with open arms, but it didn’t take long for some to realize they can’t let them stick around for too long. Kelley was even at the center of some drama at the first Tribal Council. So the returnees are definitely going to have an uphill battle to fight.

Joe’s tribe won the immunity challenge, so he wasn’t on the chopping block, but he quickly proved his worth to his tribe, so in typical Joe fashion, he will probably be OK until merge. Aubry, however, has already had her name tossed around. So needless to say, we should be in for a lot of drama this season since it has already started.

So in the end, after a messy and confrontational first Tribal Council, it was Reem who was voted out, but we got to see how the Edge of Extinction twist works. After leaving Tribal Council, she comes to a crossroads with two choices: She can either stop playing the game and go home or she can grab a torch and give herself another shot at the game by going off to the Edge of Extinction. She grabbed the torch and headed off to the dark and barren island. We will see more of what she’s faced with next week, but it seems like it will be intense.
