Last night on Survivor 2019 the season started us off with 18 castaways (that’s 14 newbies and four returning players) in their battle to become the Edge of Extinction Sole Survivor and take home the $1 million grand prize.
CBS gave us just a one-hour season premiere, so we didn’t get multiple challenges and eliminations this time around. I
First up was Jeff’s introduction of the season and the arrival of the castaways before they head off to camp with everything they can grab. Plenty of fun drama ahead as tribes try to figure out how to build their shelter and not immediately start hating each other in the process. How will the new castaways react to seeing the faces of Joe Anglim, Kelley Wentworth, Aubry Bracco and David Wright? Will they want to work with them or target them?
Ron has found an “advantage menu” that gives him three choices, the best being individual immunity. But it has to be used before the third Tribal Council.
The two tribes are heading right into their first immunity challenge. Who will pull of the win that could set the tone for the whole season? Let’s find out. For this challenge, each player will have to maneuver through an obstacle. One person must then climb to the top of a rope and ring a bell. Then they have to cross a three-tier balance beam. One person must then climb to the top of crow’s nest and then they have to complete a giant slide puzzle. First tribe to win scores immunity. They’re also playing for flint.
Kama wins immunity after a tight race! Manu will go to Tribal Council.
It’s sounding like it’s going to be either Reem or Wendy to head out first. Let’s get to the votes.
The votes: Reem, Kelley, Wendy, Lauren, Reem, Wendy, Reem, Wendy, Reem … Reem is the first voted out!
Edge of Extinction
Reem chooses to continue playing and heads off to the Edge of Extinction island.
