Jeff Probst on Survivor 2017

The pressure was on last night for the Survivor 2017 castaways. Last week sent out Cole’s closest supporter and Joe fed his Hidden Idol to the Tribal fire. If they’re going to both survive the night then they’ll need to find a way out of this trouble or set another target in the newly merged tribe.

We live recapped this week’s episode of Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers as we roll on through the back half of the season. Read on to find out who was voted off Survivor this week!

Survivor 2017 Week 8: Secret Advantage

Lauren finds the clue that Cole missed in the bundle of nails. She can swap the actual clue for her vote parchment at a Tribal Council and then keep that extra vote for a future Tribal. Wow! Nice.

Survivor 2017 Week 8: Reward Challenge

Eleven castaways and two teams of five. Joe is sitting this one out while the rest of the castaways race up a multi-tiered platform and launch sandbags back across the field at their team’s targets.

Winning team will go to a private island and enjoy what sounds like an Olive Garden dinner. The teams will be drawn randomly and since Joe wasn’t pulled for a team he’ll get the spaghetti meal automatically.

Red: Ashley, Desi, Mike, Ben, and Lauren
Blue: JP, Devon, Ryan, Chrissy, and Cole

Twist here is that Joe gets to decide the order of the eaters since everyone has their meal privately. The catch is that whoever goes last could end up getting nothing.

Second twist: there was a clue about an Idol buried under the tribe flag. Cole sees the message and so does Chrissy and Ryan.

Hidden Idol:

When they get back to camp Cole goes to pee and Ryan scrambles over to dig for the Idol. He finds it and scurries away. Chrissy tries to cover up Ryan’s dig when Cole jumps in and tries to search for the already-gone Idol. It’s a big ol mess, but Ryan has it while the rest of the tribe thinks Cole has it.

Survivor 2017 Week 8: Immunity Challenge

Individual immunity is back up for grabs. Castaways will use a pole to keep a small statue in place while moving farther back at set intervals along a narrow beam. Last to remain wins safety from the next Tribal Council.

Grab some fire for your torch. Votes are getting ready and Jeff will have to snuff one player’s game tonight.

Lauren plays her secret advantage, doesn’t vote, and takes the parchment with her.

Jeff reveals the votes: Ben, Lauren, Desi, Joe, Desi, Joe, Desi, Joe, Desi, Joe… TIED!

Tie-breaker: Everyone but Joe & Desi can vote and votes can only go against one of those two. Lauren has to fake a vote, but must discard this second parchment. She does not get to keep the second vote attempt.

Desi Williams was voted off Survivor!

Desi becomes the first member of the Survivor 2017 Jury and goes to Ponderosa next.

  23. She has to figure out if there is enough vote toward the one they want out. Only then will she be able to save that vote.

  218. I’m confused – how come Jeff didn’t have to explain that there was an advantage to everyone at tribal? They would’ve been able to count that there was one vote missing….

  221. If you watch at the end where it shows everyones vote, it shows that desi and Joe was tied for a second time….what happened?

  222. Watch the vote at the end (9:54) Lauren did Not vote, She slid the paper off the back of the table and motioned to put Her vote in the jar…Will She be kicked off the island next week???

  226. She will be. She had a set back after the surgery, a mild stroke. But she said they expect her to recover completely. She’s at home and recovering.

  227. She had the option to do that with her secret option. it was a revote. She already put the blank paper in her shirt during the regular vote which was part of the rules. Would have been redundant to put two piece of paper in her shirt. Have a nice day.

  229. Any idea why they didn’t vote Joe out? I would think he was too sneaky to keep in the game. I’m a day late because I can’t concentrate on the show and this site at the same time. Lol.
