Survivor 41: Shan Smith Reveals Survivor Secret And Regret

Last week on Survivor 41, we watched as Shan Smith got got by her closet allies. The blindside came as a shock to Shan and viewers alike. Love her or not, Shan was playing a ruthless game and was positioning herself nicely for the endgame. But Ricard led the charge to get her out, and with an idol in her pocket, she surely has some regrets.

But according to a lengthy Instagram post, Shan actually has no game threats. But there is one.

“My only regret playing Survivor Season 41 was that my mom wasn’t alive to see it,” Shan says. “Other than that, this was a dream come true. I loved playing this game.”

Shan also revealed something that most were not aware of while watching her play the game. She has Multiple Sclerosis.

“As an MS warrior I kicked so much ass y’all!” She says. “Multiple Sclerosis is an unpredictable disease and no one but God and me will ever know just how terrified I was of competing. I was so worried about flaring up and having to be medically evacuated, or being unable to walk, or see or move just because my immune system felt like acting up. But I went to Fiji anyway, because I never want to live my life in fear. None of us should. It’s not what The Divine has in mind for us. Dear reader, whether you’re dealing with illness, identity or insecurity – may nothing hold you hostage.”

Shan has been open about her condition on social media, but on Survivor 41, she kept it a secret to the other players.

For some reason, no Shan exit interviews have surfaced. We are not sure if it was because of the Thanksgiving holiday, or if there was another reason Shan wasn’t open to the press. We will let you know if the interview surfaces.
